Holywood Care Home

My Husbands Uncle has been a resident from the end of April tat Hollywood care home and i would just like to say he is very happy were he is and so am I. The nursing staff are lovely , the care staff are great, and would go the extra mile for you. I have found them to be very good with the care and support he has received to date, and he is treated with dignity and kept spotless. The facilities are great activities every day if you wish to take part. The home itself is spotless and is cleaned everyday. The food is very good a great choice and is always hot.

Management are seen to be hands on and very nice.Overall, I cannot fault this home so much so i have asked them hopefully to take my Mum as a rehab placement so i will keep you up to date on my next review.

My dad was in Holywood Care Home for no more than five weeks. The level of care he received from all members of staff was wonderful. They were attentive and caring to all his needs and were kind to us and kept us updated each time we were there. The home is clean, comfortable and welcoming. I would highly recommend it. Many thanks to all.

The care provided to both my grandparents has been amazing. The staff are friendly and patient and always have time to say hello. The home is clean and well-kept with no odours. The food looks lovely and both my grandparents enjoy it. The manager and his staff are amazing at keeping their residents safe which as a family gives us peace of mind they are being well cared for. Updates are regular and lovely to hear. I am so grateful to all the staff and the amazing work they do. Thank you!

My husband has been in Holywood Care Home since June 2023. Having both experienced service neglect and a totally uncaring attitude at his last care home, I can honestly say that the difference is unbelievable. The staff is brilliant and the facilities are very good. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone, in fact, I already have to one of my neighbors needing respite care.

My mum was discharged from hospital on the 5th of February 2024 to Holywood Care Home on an interim care basis. The care and attention given to my mum has been excellent. Mum is bather, personal needs fully met, is dressed and stimulated by staff. Hairdresser on site. All dietary requirements met. Family has decided that Mum will stay permanently in the home as it meets her needs as bedbound and has dementia. Good standard of care. Excellent manager and staff.

The care my brother-in-law has was exemplary. It was both professional and compassionate. The staff were always welcoming and supportive. I give Hollywood the highest possible recommendation.

In going to see my family member that they are well cared for and the home is very welcoming. Fresh and clean too. Staff are very caring and willing to look out to care for residents.

From the moment my mum was greeted by the staff at Holywood Care Home I knew that we had found the right place for her. The compassion was breathtaking - and continued to be, until her death four days later. Every aspect of care was faultless and the staff looked after the family as well as Mum. I will never be able to express my gratitude sufficiently. In Mum's dying days I was enabled to return to being her being her daughter, instead of her carer, and to spend invaluable time together in a peaceful, caring environment

The care my granny received was above and beyond in her last days. The staff were kind and caring with her and us. She was treated with dignity by all staff members. The staff were helpful and looked after us during a difficult period. The home itself was very clean, and the rooms were of a high standard.

Since my dad has been in your care he has been to put the weight he had lost through illness. You go the extra mile to ensure he is always well presented which in turn makes him feel good and also for the family to see that he is looking well. Also, his medical care is second to none and everybody is very attentive to all his needs.

My mum has been in the care home for 1 year and has settled in very well even as it was during the pandemic. The staff are very friendly and supportive. I have great peace of mind knowing she is well looked after. The staff have always contacted me when required and they contact the doctor immediately if they have any concerns over her health. I would recommend this care home as I understand how important it is to know your relative is being well looked after.

Most carers are constantly on mobiles. They don't pay enough time to residents' needs. The residents trying to get dressed or undressed are shouting for help. Pads are not changed often enough. The top nurse for hard work is great at his job - always giving his all to residents. One other is also good. Some night duty staff have no compassion. Not enough toilet facilities for visitors. I used the loo one evening after a male carer. He peed all over the seat and floor. I couldn't use it. One shower per week is not enough.

My father has been a resident of Holywood Care Home for over 3 years, having become a resident after a major stroke. The kindness, care and attention he has received over this time has been outstanding. My father has a genuine relationship with the staff which has been critical for his mental wellbeing during lockdown. A fabulous care home and wonderful staff, thank you.

Under the circumstances (Covid-19) couldn't be better. The staff are very efficient and really very caring of residents and also visitors. Holywood Care Home is like a five-star hotel. I am so very pleased and happy for my friend.

Over the last year, it has been great to keep in touch with the staff who were always able to tell me how Mum is. If any issues in food etc. they would contact a member of our family. On seeing Mum today, she is looking great and there has been attention to detail in her hair, clothing etc. Staff remain very flexible and kind.

The meeting was on time and as described. My mother was well prepared for the meeting and I was impressed by her physical appearance and cheerful attitude. The staff were extremely helpful and did all they could to facilitate our communication, as my mother is extremely deaf.

I was really not looking forward to this visit as I had not seen my mum for over a year, but I was so pleased to finally be here and to see her looking so well. She even looks as if she has put weight on. Definitely better than seeing her on FaceTime. The staff have obviously been very attentive in caring for her and she is very happy within herself, which in turn makes me very content.

Holywood Care Home staff are the most caring people I've ever met. My mother has been a resident from February 2020. When she first moved in, I could visit her whenever I wanted but then lockdown happened but the staff inform me of any changes in mum's health. Every one of the employees is so nice, from the secretaries, carers, domestics, nurses and chefs. The food is amazing. My mum is 83 and whenever she phones me, she has nothing but praise for all the employees at Holywood Care Home. So from me, thank you so much.

Mother is so happy and content. If it wasn't for her care in the home, I would be worried about her all the time but I don't need to worry about her as I know she is well cared for.

Staff are super friendly, care is second to none. The cleanliness of the home is outstanding. Fabulous Home.
