Review of Comber Care Home from Lynne M (Daughter of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My mother, following a serious fall moved to Comber Care Home in Jan 25. It became evident quickly that she would be unable to return home. Her own and the family's experience was extremely positive. The home has a welcoming atmosphere. The upstairs staff team provided excellent care to mum for 16 months until she died.

Their upset spoke volumes about the relationship they all had with mum. A huge thank you.

The staff have gone above and beyond in looking after my uncle, and in particular the manager (or lead nurse) of the home. I was always informed on my uncles condition if he had an infection and it was always dealt with promptly and efficiently. My uncle could sometimes be awkward but they always dealt with him with absolute professionalism. Cannot thank them enough as he is now in end stage life.

Review of Comber Care Home from N K (Son of Resident) published on 22 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

A very thorough experience and staff were attentive, dedicated to their duties and those in their care. I can testify to the excellent care my mother received throughout her tow years in Comber from not only the staff responsible for her daily care, but the administrative support from Laura in the office and Michelle (manager). Anything less than excellent belows bears only to my mums specific circumstance with her sight and hearing which placed her at a disadvantage.

Review of Comber Care Home from Colette G (Niece of Resident) published on 9 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My aunt found it extremely challenging being in a nursing home due to the lack of independence she was experiencing. The staff did their best to care for her and support her needs. However, my aunt was a strict vegetarian, the home were generally unable to provide suitable meals for her. We discovered that a product classified as 'ice cream' contained pork gelatine. This was very inappropriate for her. We had to buy the majority of her main meals.

Review of Arches Care Home from Bernard B (Brother of Resident) published on 5 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

This is truly an EXCELLENT care home. The care for my brother is exemplary/ The staff are caring and understanding. The Arches is completely resident-centred. The organise days out for individual residents. There are birthday parties in the rec room. All the staff are involved in residents' care. The cleaning and laundry staff know everyone by name and are heavily involved in their day-to-day care. The nurses are exemplary. Recently, a sensory room has been opened. I am delighted with the 5-star level of care in this home.

Review of Mount Lens Care Home from I M (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

We honestly couldn't ask for better care for our dad. He's in the early stages of dementia which can make things harder has he'd still very aware of whats going on, but the staff have been amazing with him. He came straight from hospital into care home so the transition wasn't easy but they've supported him (as us) every step of the way. The staff are also accommodating not just to dad but to us as a family. They're always there when needed especially if he's feeling stressed or anxious and they handle everything with so much patience and kindness. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Everyone is so friendly, approachable and helpful, we are very grateful for everything you do.

Review of Manor View Care Home from Morgan-Jay C (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My dad had moved into Bangor care home EMI unit at near the end of August 2025 from another care home he was recently in. Me and my mum found that my dad and her husband was really happy in the home and settled in straight away, all the care staff were amazing and kept my daddy cleaned and tidy every time I went up to see him. The nurses as well are fantastic and was always up to date with everything that was going on with his health and if he had any accidents. Me and my mum were overall very happy with the whole experience of the home that my daddy was in until his final days.

Review of Carnalea Care Home from Karen W (Niece of Resident) published on 6 May 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I highly recommend this home. The care my uncle got was amazing, the work that the staff provided was so professional and caring . The home itself is spotless and has beautiful gardens. The food was so good and whatever you wanted they made it, which my uncle loved, with endless cups of tea coffee. I would like to thank all the staff for his care and also how supportive they were with myself and family on the day that he past. He was in the best hands ever.

Review of Carnalea Care Home from E A (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 1 May 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My granny moved into Carnalea last September. She & the whole family have been delighted with this move. We have seen her improve in mood, and just looks much happier. The staff are all compassionate, caring and display a real sense of care and affection for their residents. Granny enjoys the food, the company and speaks highly of the staff. She particularly enjoyed Sasha the dog visiting. Her room is always kept clean and it is great being able to make it her own. We have no complaints and are very happy with Carnalea.

Review of Comber Care Home from E T (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 April 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Dad sadly had to go into a care home due to ill health. Initiall Dad was cared for by the hospital home team in Comber Care Home and we were impressed by the professionalism and caring nature of the staff, therefore when it was clear that Dad could no longer live at home his family made the decision to keep Dad in Comber Care Home despite other care homes being closer to family. The nursing staff and carers take a real interest in Dad and are very friendly and helpful.

The care and support given to my mum by the staff at Carnalea Care Home has been exemplary. They have always treated her with dignity and respect and provided person-centred care. As a family, we have always found the staff to be caring, friendly and professional in all dealings with them. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they always strive to go above and beyond in any requests. The care home itself is always immaculately clean and well presented.

My aunt was placed in Comber Care Home in Nov 2025 for rehabilitation after a long stay in hospital. She settled very quickly with the help of the staff who welcomed her and made her feel comfortable. My aunt was treated with dignity and respect and enjoyed getting to know the staff. It puts family's mind at ease when your relative is being cared for and that they have really enjoyed being here. Thank you.
