My mummy is in the dementia unit two years now. They have taken really great care of her and i know she is safe, warm and clean. The staff are always friendly and professional and treat her like their own family. This means a lot to us. I cant thank them enough for what they do for her. She loves the entertainment and enjoys a good laugh with the staff.

My father was a patient here for end-of-life care. He was treated with the utmost respect and we cannot fault the nursing staff, carers, and manager for their kind and compassionate care. The home has a calm atmosphere, modern furnishings and decor.

Recently my mum was taken to hospital and speaking to the ambulance staff who took her they informed me that it was the best transfer they have had from care home to hospital as all info, script details etc were ready and waiting on them when they arrived at Edgewater.

The staff at Edgewater Lodge could not do enough for my father-in-law during his stay. I highly recommend Edgewater Lodge. The company running the home, Electus Healthcare, were professional and met his needs and the staff were caring and worked with us during what is a difficult time for us all. Well done the Electus team.

The actual buildings and rooms are not the most modern but the level of care is excellent.

Dad has Alzheimer’s and has been in Edgewater for respite care following a stay in hospital. He has settled in well, which makes us more settled too. All the staff are great with him, from the admin, kitchen, laundry etc to the nurses and carers. They keep us well informed as to how Dad is getting on or if there are ever any problems. Knowing that Dad is happy and well looked after is a great comfort to us.

Both grandparents are residents in Edgewater, they are well cared for fed well and have a brilliant rapport with staff. They interact in all the activities and have made friends with the other residents and staff.

Both my father-in-law and mother-in-law are residents in Edgewater, they have both settled in very well and have a great relationship with all staff, including kitchen and domestics. They are well cared for and always nicely dressed each day. They enjoy the food and attend all activities in the home.

I'm delighted how quickly my dad has settled into Edgewater Lodge. All his needs are met and he seems very happy here. Staff are always very attentive with him and communicate with me regarding him on a regular basis.

The carers have a genuine desire to give each resident a quality of care to maintain their dignity and general wellbeing. They will phone a doctor if they think medicines need added, adjusted, or changed. My mother had pneumonia in December 2017 and her GP asked if we wanted her to go to a hospital. I declined because in her own room she would be fed at mealtimes and turned every four hours to avoid bed sores with her pads changed at regular intervals. The Home provided an air pumped mattress through her illness and in general any problems can be discussed at the residents' relatives' meeting or if more immediate action is required a chat with the nurse in charge or the manager can resolve most problems.
