We came to visit our friend who has Huntingtons disease. When In hospital, our friend was a shell of her former self and it felt like they didn't care. Therefore, when we arrived at the Neu living facility we were apprehensive but our concerns were quickly resolved.
We were greeted at the door by
the manger who took us straight to our friend and introduced us to the team. They were so polite and professional but also jovial with the service users.
My friend looked so well cared for. She had lost weight due to not eating in hospital but was eating her dinner when we arrived. She was dressed beautifully and said how happy she was. one of the carers took us down to the games room where she offered us all drinks and time to catch up. She had been playing pool and air hockey with the carers previously. The difference in her was astounding. She was able to converse. We laughed so much during that time and we're looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you so much for the work you all do.

My daughter has been living at Neu living home since March, she has Huntington disease.
What a lovely place. All the staff are fantastic, friendly and welcoming. She has settled in the home. I have not seen/heard my daughter laugh/smile for such a long time. To hearing my daughter laughing and seeing
her smiling, is so lovely. Thank you to all the staff for having time to get to know my daughter.

My son has been a resident at Woodhill House for over a year now. He has always related well with the staff on the respite unit. They have seen us and him through a very difficult time with severe health problems eventually ending in manor surgery. He is now well on his road to recovery and we cannot
praise the staff for all their input at this very lengthy stressful time. The care they give is outstanding. We have always felt he is safe, secure, and well cared for.

We have a severely disabled daughter who is nonverbal and requires 24-hour care and she attends respite at Wood Hill House for short breaks. Over time we have built and developed trust in the regular staff that work on Weston Unit. Our daughter shows signs that she is happy in this environment and as
parents we feel this is a safe space. The regular staff on Weston know our daughter inside and out and often go above and beyond to provide her care and anticipate her needs. They care for her personal hygiene, health needs and she always looks happy and well-presented when we collect her. I can’t stress enough how essential this trust is with regards to leaving our daughter, they provide excellent communication and anticipate things we might find concerning. We genuinely consider them our extended family.

I have always found my sister to be well cared for having learning difficulties and dementia she can't speak up for herself, but the staff are always talking to her and interacting with her and knowing her needs.
I am always kept up to date with any problems that might arise, so do not have any concerns.
If
I did, I know I could talk to staff and they would sort it.

My 19yr old daughter who has severe learning disabilities has accessed the respite services on a weekly basis since last summer. I am very happy with how she has settled in. Staff are kind and professional and are keen to learn about my daughter so they can meet her needs.
The management team have
good communication with us and have arranged a review to make sure their information regarding my daughter is up to date.
Transition from children's services is a difficult time but staff at Wood Hill have done all they can to make this process easier for us all. I would recommend their services to other families in our situation.

My husband has Parkinson's with Lewy Body Dementia. He has been resident in Wood Hill House since the middle of August 2017. The carers are very kind and caring, he is exceedingly well looked after. I am informed of any problems that arise which is reassuring. There are activities for him to join in
during the week which he enjoys. Whilst he has been there, there have been a few health problems which have been dealt with immediately and efficiently. Putting him in a home is the saddest thing I have ever had to do but the good care he gets in Wood Hill House reassures me that I have done the right thing.

Since Dad's diagnosis, he has struggled enormously, we all have to different degrees.
Thanks to Wood Hill I can finally see him relaxing.
I believe this is because every member of staff and agency (staff) is incredible.
We now have a Dad who is finally understood.
All staff are so patient and knowledgeable,
the kindness from everyone shines through, at every level, every time we visit.
We can rely on that Dad is cared for in every aspect even though he is so complex.
With thanks all.

When my husband moved here, it is such a long way away from me (I can't drive) that we were pressing to move him closer.

However, this home has given him such excellent care - in the understanding of his illness, the patience with which they deal with his sometimes difficult behaviour and patience,

also with his aggression.

All staff were helpful, professional and very caring.
My mum was treated with the respect and care which she was used to at home.
Lots of staff on duty at all times.
Activities provided frequently.
Beautiful rooms with amazing views.
I no longer need to search for a good top class home for mum.
When
the times comes, Wood Hill House will be her home.
Highly recommend respite too.

The unit our relative is on is very good. Staff are excellent at their jobs, very friendly. There are a lot of facilities for him in this home and a lot of activities he can play. However, they could add extra activities for him.

The home is very good and clean, smells really nice. Domestic staff

do an excellent job as the place is very clean.

Our relative gets the best support and facilities from staff.

I would just like to update our review on Woodhill House. My husband is a resident there and the care that is given to them is top of the range. The staff have got so much patience even though some of the residents are very demanding. My daughter and I attend every day, have done for five months, and
before that seven months in the hospital. Most of the staff know us at Wood Hill House and new ones that we haven't seen before, make us feel welcome on arrival. Nothing is too much trouble for all of them. Well done to the management for the choice of staff.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.661)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.661) out of 10 for Neu Living is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.860 for Neu Living is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 57 Ratings = 4.86
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.801 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Neu Living is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 83 registered maximum number of service users is 16.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.6 = 0.301
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
