The home has lovely staff who smile and greet you. They seem happy at work.
I just feel frustrated that when I ask for person-centred care it doesn't seem to happen.
I have recently put up a memo asking that my Auntie has her TV book open on the correct day in front of her. Its mostly in her drawer,
out of her reach.

We recently had a family member staying at Wood Hill Grange Care Home on a temporary basis, and I just wanted to share what a genuinely positive experience it was. From the moment he arrived, the staff were welcoming, kind, and incredibly attentive. It's clear they really care about the residents and
go the extra mile to make everyone feel comfortable and valued. The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere - not something you always expect, but it really stood out. Communication with the team was excellent too, which gave us great peace of mind as a family. Most importantly, my uncle felt settled, safe, and well looked after during his stay - and that means everything. A big thank you to all the staff at Wood Hill Grange for the care and compassion you showed. It didn't go unnoticed

My Mum had been in Waterside grange since January till present day. As a family we can't express our gratitude and thanks to the staff and management at Waterside grange/portland care enough. My mum has Alzheimer's dementia. After a stay in hospital my mum went into restbite at waterside grange and
then social services and ourselves made the hard decision that Mum needed 24 hour care. It was very upsetting as Mum always stated she didn't want go into care. But the management and staff went above and beyond to make mum feel welcome loved and cared for. The attention to detail the home provides is outstanding. The level of care and the interaction they provide is amazing. My mum has done more in the last few weeks than she has in the last 6 years. I feel Mum has felt the level of care and has responded in such a way that we have gotten a bit of mum back that we had lost. I cannot express our sincere gratitude enough . Thankyou to Portland care and thyou so much to all at Waterside grange
Reply from Lyndsey Webb, Operations Manager at Waterside Grange Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. It means a great deal to all of us at Waterside Grange and Portland Care.

We understand how difficult this transition must have been, and were so pleased we could support your mum and help her feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Its wonderful to hear she is enjoying activities and that you feel youve got a little piece of her back that truly means everything to us.

Your kind words will be shared with the whole team. Thank you again for your trust and support.

When I left hospital after 3 to 4 years in hospital I needed somewhere to stay with 24hr support as a stepping stone to moving back home. Neu Living provided the perfect setting wtih caring support but also more freedom to come and go when I please, unlike hospital. The staff at Neu Living are very
caring and approachable and the management are excellent and listen to any ideas or feedback and act on this. Neu Living helped me to get my confidence and independence back and I really enjoyed the daily activities and group outings. I am now able to return home.

My mum wasn't having the best time here, but when Michelle stepped in it all changed. She is a dedicated person who loves her job, she has genuine empathy for the residents and cares for them deeply, she is always happy to help, and if any issue arises, she will always do her best to solve them. The
home is now filled with love and warmth, and that is down to Michelle.

Creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel respected, comfortable, and cared for is exactly what we strive for, and it's wonderful to hear that this has been reflected in your mum's time with us.

If dad hadn't been in Woodhill Grange, he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did. He could hardly walk after spending much of his time in a previous home. The staff encouraged him to walk again. He struggled with his dementia, but overall, I could tell he was happy. Dad had a good rapport with the staff,
even when he struggled to speak. They were all lovely to him and very caring when he died. Thank you.

We are honoured to have been able to care for your dad and to be part of his journey. Knowing that he regained confidence with walking, felt supported through his dementia, and shared happy moments with our team is incredibly meaningful to us. He was very fondly regarded by the staff, and the rapport he built with them will always be remembered. Please accept our sincere condolences. Our thoughts are with you and your family, and we're grateful you trusted us with your dad's care.

This was a short stay for my daughter to facilitate my holiday. Prior to the onset of her disability she had worked as a nursing home carer and this gave an edge to the experience. Her verdict was:- 'Twelve out of ten' 'Better than Madeira!' (where she enjoyed 5 star hotel). Especially impressed by
the help towards independence.
Reply from Lyndsey Webb, Operations Manager at Neu LivingThank you so much for taking the time to share such a wonderful review, and please also pass on our thanks to your daughter for her incredibly kind words. We're delighted that her short stay with us helped make your holiday possible and that she found the experience so positive. Knowing that she previously worked as a nursing home carer herself makes her verdict of "twelve out of ten" especially meaningful to our team. Being compared favourably to a five-star stay in Madeira is praise indeed!
We're particularly pleased that the support we provided towards her independence stood out. Promoting confidence, choice, and independence is at the heart of what we aim to do, so it's very rewarding to hear that this made a real difference to her stay.
Thank you again for your recommendation. It was a pleasure to support your daughter, and we would be very happy to welcome her back in the future. Best Wishes.
