The Clavadel represents a new concept in specialist post-operative care and convalescence.

Situated in a 32-bed, purpose-built treatment and recuperation centre close to the Surrey Downs, it offers round-the-clock-nursing and is the first facility of its kind in the UK.

Boasting a 60-strong staff, its team of highly trained healthcare professionals enjoy access to the latest technology, providing expertise in the treatment and management of a range of conditions, with particular emphasis on rehabilitation following hip and knee replacement.

Under the supervision of experienced therapists, the state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool with underwater treadmill, massage jets and walk-in access at poolside will help stimulate movement and recover mobility.

In addition, a dedicated physiotherapy suite, equipped with cutting-edge GAME READY technology, is on hand where skilled physiotherapists can employ ice therapy to treat chronic injury and expedite recovery.

Often likened to a hotel, The Clavadel’s unique environment fosters an immediate sense of well-being.

I booked into the Clavadel for post-operative care and physiotherapy following a knee replacement in November 2023. I had been there in 2019 for my first knee replacement and everything lived up to my expectations. The physiotherapy and nursing care was exemplary in every way and the staff throughout
were caring and very helpful. It was worth every penny! A perfect place for what I needed and hopefully there will be more Clavadels throughout the country.

I spent two weeks at the Claverdel having broken my femur being knocked off my bicycle in London. I got focused intensive physio and fantastic 24/7 care from a fabulous team of carers, nurses and physios. Understandably, the NHS needed to discharge me as soon as they could and the Claverdel was the
perfect solution to my concerns of being able to cope when still practically immobile. It is one of the best decisions and investments that I have ever made. My progress has been amazing and I am still going back for continued hydrotherapy which is such a great addition to normal physiotherapy.
