My wife was at The Old Rectory for 20 days for post operative care after a trauma break to her femur. The medical, physio and general sympathetic care were all excellent. We had good communication with the general manager (who was hands on and led from the front). The head physio was extremely helpful;
they and all the staff were pleasant, kind, and sympathetic. They all knew and carried out their duties admirably and professionally (relevant to my wife, the night nursing was thoughtful and attentive). The room, although comfortable, the ensuite was a little small, but we were lucky to find a room in a lovely house and surroundings at such short notice, so 'no complaints'.
We did not use the facilities and activities, but did enjoy a 'Songs of Praise' in the garden in conjunction with the local church. As to value for money, it is the market!

I came here for a week to recover from a full knee replacement. I am 82. From the moment I arrived I have received exemplary treatment and care. Smiling staff always with a warm greeting, so so caring, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellent - flavoursome and quite delicious, it
has been an aid to my recovery, beautifully presented.
Physio 5 days, again excellent and I am now able to walk for a short distance without crutches. Excellent care throughout.

I stayed for one week of respite care with my partner after her surgery. This was similar to staying in a luxury hotel with extremely kind and helpful staff. The home is in a delightful rural setting and the food and service were excellent. The staff worked as a very smoothly running team. Nothing was
too much trouble for them. The medical support was extremely good.

This was my second stay at The Old Rectory for post-operative care following surgery. What a lovely group of helpful management and staff, many local, but many from abroad. Always smiling and willing to cope with sometimes unpleasant jobs, very helpful staff. Fascinating to hear about their countries,
and I was impressed by their good use of the English language. Nothing was too much trouble - I felt very relaxed during my stay. I recommend this home to others. I had a wonderful stay. Special thanks to the manager for all their efforts.

My week of respite and convalescent care following surgery has been brilliant. Without exception the staff are caring, attentive and always prompt in attending to requests. The nursing care was excellent with prompt attention to an infection which prevented further complications. Staff ratio to residents
is very good indeed. Most enjoyable activities took place which provided social time. Food is excellent. The Old Rectory is situated in the idyllic Surrey Hills. This has been a good time of rest and restoration and a necessary transition between hospital and home. Thank you all at the Old Rectory.

Staff are caring. The rooms are a little small but very clean. The food and service are both excellent. The nurses are on 24/7 call and there is a very efficient care system which is rather rare and can be moved around with the patient. Very good physio care is vital and the Old Rectory has achieved
this by careful selection of a carefully chosen expert pool of chartered physiotherapists. They are carefully chosen and vetted.

My father moved to The Old Rectory Care Home, initially on a respite stay but he immediately felt welcomed and comfortable and it was his choice to become a permanent resident. All the staff are always cheerful, with a pleasant word to residents, visitors and each other. Nothing is ever too much trouble,
including reminding Dad frequently to press the call button if he wants something! Visitors are welcome anytime, the signing in and out system is straightforward to use. Activities are very varied, both regular events - chair exercises, board games and bingo, and the opportunity to turn a 'notable date' into a celebration for all, making residents feel part of an active community - Bonfire Night, Divali, Burns Night, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day are some of the recent events.

My father has been a resident at the Old Rectory for over three years. We have had brilliant support as a family with his transition from him living independently alone to a care home environment. I cant say he 'wanted' to move into care, as he believed he was quite capable of being in his own home!
The fact is he could no longer do that without a full time live-in carer. Which he equally did not want. Thanks to the help and understanding of the Old Rectory, Dad (slowly) made his transition and recognises the value of having a specialist team there (24/7) to help him. He has a relatively formal side to his character which must be challenging for some people to deal with, but it is lovely to see his relationships with the different team members at the Old Rectory who have each found their own way to engage effectively with him. You can't make it up with Dad, and it is great to see the enjoyment he gets from each little interaction with the team.

Our Mum was very poorly when she arrived at The Old Rectory, and from that minute the staff could not have been kinder, more caring, or more concerned for her welfare. She has been treated with dignity and huge respect, and all her needs were taken care of, and she was brought back to being much more
like herself. The room is spotless, the food is remarkable, and the nurses are always available if we have any concerns. We wanted our Mum to be at The Old Rectory when she became unable to look after herself with help at home, and so were so happy when she was offered a room. The home is really well run and responds to its community creatively and sensitively. Thank you all.

Mum looks better now than she has done for years as she is being well cared for, has delicious nutritious food, regular medication and frequent physiotherapy to support her physical needs. She has daily opportunities to meet up with other residents for drinks, meals and activities and this social interaction
is so important for her mental stimulation. The staff at The Old Rectory are all lovely with Mum and treat her with respect, care and kindness. She has formed friendships with staff through chatting as they go about their work and is genuinely interested when staff share some of their family background with her.
