The staff at the home are totally awesome. My mom is a resident, and her only granddaughter graduated on Tuesday 25th, and she wasn't able to attend. The staff made the front lounge up with banners and a cake, and tea. I made up for my mom not being able to go and made her a big part of my daughter's day. It was over and above what they needed to do, but nothing is ever too much trouble. They are all so fantastic.

My father was taken in by Elliott House just prior to the pandemic. As we were unable to visit, the staff enabled us to facetime regularly. He looked happy and comfortable in his new home. As lockdown ended, a pod was created enabling us to visit one to one. They made so much effort to allow us contact with him. The care my dad has received is excellent. There are lots of activities for all residents and regular parties for us to enjoy seeing them all. We are so pleased to have found such a caring and safe environment for him. We cannot thank all the staff enough.

I am so pleased Dad has moved to this home. He is no longer overmedicated with antipsychotic medication, only having low PRN usage. He is always up and dressed. He has personal care baths, showers and etc. despite behaviour that challenges. Carers are aware of Dad's care plan. The team are always a step ahead when multidisciplinary care required. Excellent activity schedule. Approachable management team, able to share their theoretical approach to dementia care. I am able to relax at last.

The care my father has received at Elliott House has been exceptional. He has been treated with respect, kindness and dignity. Residents have a choice of menu at mealtimes in a bright and airy setting. The daily activities are varied and fun. It's so reassuring to know that my father is in a safe and caring place. Thank you.

My aunt has been in care for just over a year. Her sister and my brother are more than pleased with the care she has.

Every time we go there is always a smiling face to welcome and a cup of tea and biscuits if we wish. My aunt is always happy, even though she's not too sure where she is. Thank you for your care in looking after her.

My sister-in-law was clean and tidy, waiting in the dining room for her lunch. She looks happy and content. I noticed on my visit the rooms looked clean and today and Easter decorations were well presented.

Staff seem very friendly, helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The home is well-managed and staff respect each other.

Overall Experience
My Dad has been at Elliott House for nearly two years, having moved here after a really poor experience with another care home.
Whilst Dads dementia has obviously deteriorated, it’s a testament to the love and care he receives from the Care Team that he seems happy and settled in his environment.
There is a genuine desire to ensure the residents have their best day every day, with varied activities, entertainment and social interaction with each other. There is open communication with the relatives, menus are published, and family meetings are held.

Like all Care Homes, there has been a pressure on resourcing and funding, but the team have not let this impact the quality of care given. If you are looking for a plush hotel like care home, this isn’t it, but if you are looking for a care home full of employees who are employed because they genuinely want to care for someone, and they understand dementia, then I would definitely recommend Elliott House.

My mum has been at Elliott House for a couple of years now and we are more than happy with the care she receives there. All of the staff are lovely and seem to take pride in the work that they do.
My mum has been given a new lease of life there, she's happy and well looked after. She's always telling us about the activities that she does and enjoys and the treats she has. She loves the pampering sessions and the high teas especially.

As a family, we are relieved that Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you to all the amazing staff who put in so much care and warmth.

Overall Experience

My mother, who has Dementia, was a resident at Elliott House from July 2018 - December 2018. She was taken to the home after it was found she could not live independently anymore and was placed at Elliott House as emergency respite care. During the period her decline was quite rapid, in disorientation, depression, severe weight loss (she came in at 52kg and left weighing 42kg), two serious bouts of Pneumonia and the boiler had broken which resulted in her being in a cold bedroom as well as the overall, constant changing space around my mum and other residents - the home was having serious renovations which meant there was no outdoor space for residents. The carers work hard but overall we had a negative and traumatic experience. Thankfully she has settled somewhere else and is happier. We were naive when looking for a care home, we were told by management if we move her - she could get worse but that was not the case.
