Situated in Craighall Road, North Edinburgh, Trinity House Care Home has been sympathetically designed to enhance the beauty of the original home and the modernity of the new wings which are built over three floors.

Trinity House offers person-centred care and the highest possible quality of life, in terms of both luxurious surroundings and support, that cater for all the needs of residents.

Staff provide exemplary standards of nursing, residential, dementia and respite care in purpose-designed accommodation.

My dad is very difficult and the staff have been amazing. He had a major birthday yesterday and they put on a small tea party for him, even though he didn't want any fuss. It was just family and was really lovely.

Since my mother-in-law arrived at Trinity House after two months in hospital, she has blossomed with their care, friendliness and professionalism. Within a couple of days, she knew her carers' names, had a haircut and the lovely surroundings lifted her spirits and she is eating better. (Eating was a
real problem in the hospital). A quick tour for me would have been nice.

I was brought into this home when I was discharged from the hospital. I was considering coming into a care home and this place was being organised and my room. I remember falling into the lovely lemon bath. Four workmen heard the crash, got an ambulance and I was taken to hospital, an operation was
done on my right leg. My daughter told me I would come here permanently and I said OK and the rest is history. I am happy here and love the food, meals etc.

We had to find emergency accommodation for our mum who has dementia immediately after my dad's funeral. The shock of losing dad and a huge change immediately afterwards could have been a nightmare. However, with much prayer, mum also realised she could not stay alone in their empty house. Even as we
had to drop mum off and could not even go in due to Covid restrictions, the lovely friendly welcome and beautifully furnished accommodation and kind staff made this easier than we ever imagined for dear mum.

Mum has been at Trinity House for just over a year after suffering a stroke. The manager and all the staff at Trinity have been excellent. I wanted somewhere local to me in Leith and accessible. The salon onsite and the consideration for Mum’s care has been two particularly positive aspects. There’s
a lot to be said for keeping up appearances and I know Mum loves that. It’s not been the easiest of years but the home has kept up all protocols and with the first round of vaccines in place hopefully, we’ll be able to visit face to face soon.

I travelled from the North-East of England to visit when Grandad had a bad day the day before. We really weren't supposed to be able to visit as he was now stable but the home manager allowed us some time with him. Can't fault the compassion shown to us at this difficult time. All team members I met
were polite and thoughtful the whole time.

My father entered the care home in August as it was no longer possible for my wife and brother to care for him at home. My family and I are very happy with the care and attention my father is receiving. My father also appears to be happy with the care and attention provided. He is involved in various
activities and appears to be well stimulated. Communications with the home are good - the contact from them is appropriate and dad sends and receives regular phone calls to and from family members. His wife of over 60 years is becoming more comfortable with her difficult decision as he settles in. Since the care home is closed to visitors I cannot comment on the interior and facilities but my father appears happy with his room and the food.

The facility is good. Be aware of the management.
It took me three minutes, by phone transfer, to overpay a "Respite Care" bill by £1000. That was on the 18th February. Finally, on the 14th July, (five months), the payment was returned.
With the policy of "payment in advance", caution, would be advised.

We have been extremely happy about the care received by my Dad during his period of emergency respite. The arrangements for him to come in were achieved quickly and efficiently. The staff are cheery and caring, The food is excellent and the facilities clean comfortable and in very good order.

"My name is Ann Lyell and I have worked in the care sector for over 26 years. My introduction to care came after qualifying as a nurse in 1996. I have always worked in the private sector, particularly in elderly care within a care home environment.


Throughout my career I have met with great colleagues and having good mentors has enabled me to expand my knowledge and skills providing me with valuable experiences to be able to progress into care home management, which I have been doing for over 6 years now.
