Though food & choice has been an ongoing issue a recent residents meeting has listened and put changes in place.

This is a fabulous care home; well run, caring staff and steady, balanced entertainment for the residents. It's as close to perfect as it's possible to be when caring for the myriad needs of our loved ones. The catering is excellent with a range of options and my mum looks so much better since she arrived 18 months ago. Well done SM team!

All staff we've dealt with have been very approachable and friendly.

My mum is very happy at Scissett mount. She is fully invested in the people and loves all the entertainment that is put on for everyone.

Dad was admitted to the care home from hospital just over 3 months ago, from day one, the care received has been Excellent, and he has progressed very well in the short space of time he has been there. Staff are friendly and caring. The home is spacious and clean, with a lovely welcoming reception area and a relatively new garden and patio area - ideal for residents & visitors to sit and relax, and enjoy watching the chickens! Any issues are always dealt with promptly, & brought to our attention. Both myself & my brother live abroad, so our visits are limited, but we have peace of mind Dad is being well cared for and living in a friendly, happy environment

Very friendly and helpful staff who always have a smile on their faces. I am always greeted with a warm smile and "hello" whenever I visit my mother. If I ever identify any issues regarding the care of my mother, they are resolved swiftly and satisfactorily. The environment is clean, tidy, spacious and safe, and the recent introduction of a new gardening space for residents and chickens, has been a boost to the residents wellbeing.

My father-in-law continues to receive first class care here. He is treated as a valued member of the community with all needs met professionally, skilfully and with total dignity. He is very happy in his home and regularly mentions how lucky he is to live here. His love of music is well-known by all staff and he has regular opportunities to either listen to music or to sing himself. The many events held throughout the year celebrate traditional holidays and more. All staff are incredibly caring; they truly treat residents as they would their own. We could not ask for more.

My uncle moved to SM six months ago. The care staff are lovely and the home clean. Food and care good and communication good if any issues arise. Reception cover good and activities and events always coordinated to support the residents. Good social activities to include family members if wanted.

Our Dad came to receive his end of life care, in January 2025, together with the help and support from Kirkwood Hospice. The compassionate care given to Dad from all the wonderful staff, made such a difference at a very difficult time. Scisset Mount is very clean and comfortable, and no matter what time of day or night, nothing was ever too much trouble for Dad or the family. We would highly recommend them.

My father in law came here for end of life care at the end of January. Unfortunately he wasn't here long but the time spent there was made very comfortable for him. The reception staff always made us feel welcome at anytime of day or night. The carers were always very kind and caring. Just what we wanted. The home was always very clean and they kept my father in law very comfortable for his last month with us. Thank you.

The resident's rooms are attractive and offer pleasant countryside views.

My nephews have made an excellent choice on behalf of their mum.

First-class environment for the residents including the menu and food provided and the cleanliness of the whole place. Most of all the first-class and friendly staff make visiting our relative a pleasant experience and we feel confident he is being well looked after and enjoys living there.

Several times a week I have visited my friend. The staff always made me feel welcome and part of a family. The activities of which there are many daytimes, evenings and weekends, something I have never witnessed in any other care home. During my time I was able to observe good practice of person-centred support each and every time something we both appreciated very much. I also saw dignity, respect and compassion shown during my friend's final days, a team to be proud of, I will never forget you.

My husband is well looked after. The cares are so kind.

On the first day, I visited to see if it would be the right setting for my mum I received a warm welcome. I could clearly see the home was person-centred led. I took my mum to see if she would like it, she felt quite at ease with the staff and other residents. From the my mum moved in they provided a warm welcome, offered her a fruit bowl for her room and can clearly see this home is resident-led. All staff interactions are respectful and understanding of resident needs.

The team at Scissett Mount are truly great, they facilitated our grandad's 80th party in a private room with cakes and sandwiches, thank you all for helping us make his day special, as well as the great care you already provide. A special thanks to one staff member in particular for all your help (and for the coffees) you're an asset to the team.

They are gentle and take time to build a good rapport with their residents.
