Overall Experience
Springvale Care Home provides exceptional care for our mum. The decision to move our mum into care was extremely difficult and emotional. Staff's kindness, compassion and support during this time has helped immensely.
Our mum who has dementia, is treated with empathy dignity, and respect, making her feel safe, comfortable, listened to and valued.
The staff encourage mum's love of music through sing-alongs, dancing, and regular outings which include entertainment which she enjoys greatly.
A special thank you to Depute Manager Stephanie who consistently goes above and beyond to consider my mum's mental health and wellbeing showing genuine kindness, care and understanding which means more than words can say.
The home's welcoming atmosphere gives my brother and I peace of mind knowing our mum is truly cared for.

The professionalism, dedication, and compassion of all staff brings us great comfort and reassurance to know that our mum is in the best place. We can't thank you enough.

My Mum has been in Springvale for about two and a half years, after a relatively long period of time admitted to hospital, and is settled in this care home. She has undoubtedly benefited from taking up residence in the home and we, as the immediate family, have also recognised the high level of care, comfort and professionalism extended by the staff that she has experienced during this time. We'd looked at a few homes in the East Dunbartonshire area and felt that Springvale was the best one we'd looked at/visited which satisfied my Mum's requirements. We remain happy with the care provided.

This is the second year I have written a review for Springvale Care Home and I didn't think it could get any better, but I have to say that over the last year the Management and Staff have gone above and beyond their duties to keep the residents happy and safe.
My sister's room is bright, cheerful and well decorated. The home itself is spotless and has many areas where the residents can spend their time, including a spacious dining room, lounges and a coffee area which can also be used by families when they visit the residents.
Every effort has been made to all aspects of life including the provision of various activities, a fantastic hairdresser, meals for 'special occasions' and much more.

As a family, we are sincerely grateful to the Management and Staff at Springvale Care Home and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Mum lost her dentures last autumn and it took us some weeks to replace them . This made it very difficult for her to get used to them again , but the staff have been so patient and encouraging that she is now able to keep them in for longer periods each day . They are also very attentive ensuring that she does not yet eat with them and making sure she does not misplace them again . This is very typical of the care that the staff in Primrose unit carry out for not only my mum but other residents too . As a family we are very grateful for the level of care they continue to provide in what is now her 7th year in Springvale Care home .

I'd like to reach out to anyone considering care for a relative who doesn't know which way to turn.
Springvale is by far the top place to choose our family member has moved there after us viewing several different facilities, this one instantly felt like home, very welcoming, bright and relaxing. The staff at all levels were friendly, knowledgeable and eager to assist.
When my father was very ill and clearly at end of life I tried so hard to have him moved from hospital to to Springvale to end his life as I wanted the same staff to care for him and him to experience the comfort and gentleness of this place.
For those residents with more living to do, the activities are always available, outings to theatres, boat trips , shopping trips, church anything requested and more.

Every resident is made to feel special not just on birthdays or when visitors are around but everyday, with all their needs met and medical requirements addressed without delay informing their families every step.

My mum passed away yesterday after almost two years at Springvale, two years when we knew she was cared for when we could relax and just enjoy visiting her. The staff became like family, always caring, and always friendly. I can't recommend this wonderful place highly enough. Our family loved the amazing birthday and Mother's Day events we could all enjoy with Mum.

Our dad spent the last 8 months of his life in Springvale Care Home. I honestly don't know where to start. The overall service given to my dad and us as a family was above and beyond anything we expected. Please look at the home's social media page. The information shared and the photographs speak for themselves. We will forever be grateful.

My sister has recently moved into Springvale Care Home and arrived to a lovely welcome by all staff. The staff have gone above and beyond caring for her. Her room is lovely and kept immaculate. There are great activities each week and outings. The onsite handyman has put up pictures, mirrors etc and made it very homely. The admin team have been great getting her registered with doctors etc. Cannot rate the staff highly enough. I would recommend this wonderful to anyone.

From our initial visit to the home we as a family could tell this was a special place. The home is so welcoming and scrupulously clean. Each area is fresh and modern. It is stressed that this is the residents' home and they/their family can come and go as they please. The room my aunt has is beautiful, the decor is neutral and the furniture is modern and more than adequate storage is provided. Residents are encouraged to make it feel like their own room so the resident handyman puts up pictures and we used our own bedding. There is a fabulous wet room in each room and a wonderful assisted bathroom. The staff go above and beyond, nothing is a bother. My aunt has had her hair cut and highlighted and her nails done in her first week at the home. The personal care my aunt is receiving is amazing. All management team are so approachable and have helped us navigate getting my aunt in and settled. The staff on Bluebell Wing are the most dedicated and caring professionals. 10/10 score all round.

My mum had been in hospital. I brought her home to her unit, and what a lovely welcome home she received from all the care staff, so genuine and caring, attentive and thoughtful.
Staff had made Mum's room all cosy and tidy and ensured checks were done. After informing the staff that Mum may have a pressure sore, her mattress was fitted with pressure relief, and the nurse contacted for appropriate checks and prescriptions.
The care and attention are second to none.

Caring is an extremely difficult job, and Springvale Staff continue to provide the best.

I wanted to express how happy I am with my sister's care in Springvale. It has been very hard for her to give up her home and move into the home, but the staff have been so supportive and caring. They constantly go the extra mile for her, and she has settled so well.
She is constantly busy with outings and activities within the home and has made friends, which is wonderful because she was lonely at home.
For me, it is a great weight off my shoulders that she is so happy and content and is being looked after so well.
I would also like to mention the manager, who is so lovely and always is available to talk to.

Thank you, Springvale; you are doing a wonderful job.

I would like to commend Springvale Care Home. Mum has been taken care of there for almost two years now, and she is being well cared for. As a relative, the staff are all like part of a big family, from the Admin staff as you come in the front door to the hairdresser Alison, the kitchen, laundry and cleaning staff, who are always interested in Mum’s well-being and chat to her when they are in her room. Unable to visit because of Covid on Mum’s recent 99th birthday, the staff in the Primrose unit made the day special for her and sent me photos of the occasion. It meant so much to me. The standard of the food is excellent at the moment thanks to innovative ideas in the kitchen, and the efficiency of the laundry has also improved. As with any situation, there are occasional glitches, but the unit staff and management are keen to hear any complaints and are quick to take action to remedy the situation. Well done everyone.

Very friendly, welcoming home.
My mum has been there for a year now, and the staff do a very caring role; it undoubtedly takes a great deal of pressure off the family.
If there are any issues, communication is extremely good, with open doors to the manager and deputy.

It's not perfect, but nowhere is, but this is next to it.

I cannot thank this home enough for looking after my grandmother. They have always treated her with dignity and respect. When she has been confused, they have taken time to reassure her, settle her, and best of all, make her laugh.
She always said laughter is the best medicine, and now she is getting her fill.
The staff in the Primrose unit have not only taken care of her but also been a great support to the family.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this home.

Fantastic activity programme for December. Great variety of entertainment which I think would cover everyone's needs. I went to some of the entertainment and loved it. The jive dancers were absolutely amazing. Great energy. The songs they danced to, all the residents remembered and sang along.

Great facilities and wonderful staff. Unbelievable compassion and professionalism shown to my wife and to me throughout her stay, and the dignity given to her during her sudden decline and end-of-life care was exemplary.
