Overall Experience

I stayed for two weeks for respite care after a hip replacement. The care was the best I could hope for. The staff were amazing, took care of every need I had and went above and beyond expectations. Arranged extra equipment and help. The food was an exception. The choice of food and menu was equivalent to having a meal at a Michelin restaurant. Five stars plus experience. Would recommend this place to whoever wants to know more and I am willing to attend and explain more. I was fortunate to have found myself in this place and if needed will be back. Staff, food, hygiene and hospitality are the best 5* plus.

A caring and warm environment which my father felt was his home. My father's needs and feelings were always given high propriety. He felt very comfortable in his surroundings.

We have been very pleased with the service provided so far. The staff have really looked after my grandmother and made her feel reassured and safe. English is her second language, and she has dementia. The facilities are of great quality, and her room is very comfortable. Whenever we have visited, we have also noticed the high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.

Overall, a fantastic experience so far!

What a find! Chestnut Gardens could not have done more to make my mother feel so welcome, initially for respite care after a dramatic discharge from the hospital. The staff are "just the best" - a daughter could wish for when someone else is looking after their elderly mother on their behalf!
The staff always have smiles on their faces and are so warm and friendly, and when I left one evening in tears, I bumped into the night staff, and she immediately wrapped me in the biggest hug - just what I needed. She also reassured me that all this was "normal" and that she would keep an extra eye on Mum overnight.
The food always sounds so good, and Mum certainly is not being left out despite requiring gluten-free; the chef is always happy to do something different for her. Thank you

I really cannot find fault with this care home, and I cannot thank the staff, from the general manager and care staff to the hostess/cleaning staff enough. Thank you.

Overall Experience

Chestnut Gardens could not have done more to make my mother feel welcome in her new home. Every member of staff has been compassionate, kind, caring and professional. The staff have taken the time to get to know her personally and have designed a stimulating programme of activities and outings to enrich her life. The home also invites the local community in for events and activities which Mum has enjoyed. The home is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with attractive lounges, restaurants and a fabulous garden. It is a lovely place for her family and friends to come and spend time or share a meal with Mum. The food is varied and tasty, not to mention the fresh cake every day! It is a beautiful home but it is the staff that make a home special, and from carers, chefs, maintenance team, laundry staff, and management to housekeeping, everyone shows pride in their work and genuine kindness towards the residents. We are very grateful to them and so pleased we chose Chestnut Gardens.

I have been so impressed by this care home. The great facilities, food and furnishings are amazing but I’ve been even more impressed by all the staff. They have been so kind, friendly, caring and professional, going the extra mile to look after my brother, who has been staying for a period of respite. I would thoroughly recommend this care home.
