Visiting

  • Visitors are welcome to spend time with residents and are encouraged to maintain regular contact with their loved ones. Visiting hours are flexible, allowing friends and family to come at times that suit both the resident and the home’s routine.

To ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all residents, visitors may be asked to sign in on arrival and follow any safety or hygiene guidance in place. Large groups and young children are welcome, though it may be requested that visits take place in designated areas to maintain a calm environment for everyone.

Pets are often welcome by prior arrangement, as long as they are well-behaved and do not cause distress to residents.

If a resident is unwell or receiving end-of-life care, visiting arrangements can be adapted to allow family and close friends more time and privacy.

Visitors are encouraged to check with the home team in advance if there are any special requirements or if they wish to arrange a private space for their visit.

Parking

  • The care home provides on-site parking for visitors, with spaces located close to the main entrance for ease of access. Designated disabled bays are available for those who require them, ensuring safe and convenient access to the building.

During busy periods, spaces may be limited, so visitors are encouraged to allow extra time when arriving. Where overflow parking is provided, clear signage is in place to direct vehicles.

All vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk, and visitors are asked to use the spaces considerately to ensure availability for others.

Our amazing mum and our dad moved into Horsforth Manor Care Home December 2023. We sadly lost our dad in March 2024.
Dad loved Horsforth Manor and as independent as he was he knew that it was definitely the perfect place for him and mum to be cared for.
Mum has really settled into Horsforth Manor.
I honestly can't imagine her being anywhere better! Although she is grieving she is living her best life. As a family we spend lots of time at The Manor, because it's our 2nd home. We love the amazing team who go above and beyond with all the events, stimulation, and standards of care, I cannot thank the team enough for making our mum so happy and enabling us to make the best memories.

My nana went to day care here and she had an amazing time. She is 96 and is registered blind, and because of a fall was not getting out and about very much.
She started coming for the coffee mornings and enjoyed it so much she wanted to stay all day. This was arranged and she had such a good time.
The girls were amazing. There are various activities going on. They had an Elvis impersonator and she loved this.
The food was also very good. My nana described this as proper home cooked food, and of course the puddings went down a treat. I would thoroughly recommend day care here. The staff are patient, kind and very caring and it feels more like a 5 star hotel than a care home.

My mum is a resident and has been there since February 24. As a family we absolutely love Horsforth Manor Care Home, the staff are amazing and make us all feel so welcome and we have become part of the Horsforth Manor family. My mum is so happy there and dad visits her a few times a week and all the
staff have welcomed him. They look after the family as well as the resident. They do so many activities with the residents and we love the weekly coffee morning. All the staff went over and above at Christmas and made it so special for everyone. I just can't praise them all enough.

Following a bout of ill health my brother had 3 weeks convalescence at Horsforth Manor; every aspect of his stay was excellent and conducive to his recovery. A beautifully laid out room with en-suite bathroom and designer decor in lounges made for pleasant visits for friends and family. We used the
1st floor lounge to host a family get-together, the home provided a trolley of refreshments which were very welcome and which we all enjoyed.
After his stay my brother left to return to his own home, much improved, due to the care and professionalism of the staff, for which I too am very grateful.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to anyone looking for respite or convalescence, especially if you're someone who may feel not old enough for an old people's home.

My mother, who lives alone, spent a weeks respite care at Horsforth Manor while family members, who live close to her, were on holiday. She was apprehensive about the stay but after being there she was very positive about it. She was made welcome by staff and other residents. She participated in the
activities and enjoyed a visit by local children. The choice of food suited her taste and was well prepared and presented. Her room (respite care) was comfortable and suited her needs and had access to the rear garden.
When I visited, some of the residents were sitting round the coffee table reading and talking, encouraged by staff members. I and my husband had lunch with mum. The meal was pleasant and a good example of the meals that the residents enjoyed.
When we took mum home, she was very positive about her stay and talked about different aspects for several days.

After talking to my mother-in-law she was very happy, had enjoyed activities and the children visiting to entertain them. The staff had been very kind and engaging plus always asking if she wanted another drink. She'd enjoyed the food and the fact that she could choose by seeing what the meal choices
were on a plate beforehand.

My grandma recently stayed for one week of respite and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. She couldn't speak more highly of the staff who she described as being 'absolutely marvellous'. She had a wonderful time taking part in the various activities on offer and made friends whilst there, which enhanced her
experience. The home is immaculate and with a very warm and welcoming feel. The food was varied, plentiful and there was always something my grandma could eat, which was great as she can be particular about her food. My grandma has already stated she would love to return in the future and is still talking very fondly about her time away.

I have now being a frequent visitor to Horsforth Manor Care Home visiting a dear friend for nearly twelve months. This home excels in every aspect, the team are wonderful, caring and I am always welcomed with a friendly smile and I feel part of the Manor family that the team create. Always invited to
the parties and entertainment that they hold. Having visited many care homes in the local area this one by far tops them all. Everyone I speak to in the home from those residing in the home to visitors and staff, all say the same how happy they are. I have already told my children where I want to be should I need to move to a care home.

Lovely home and lovely big rooms. Wonderful staff too many to name, who genuinely care for the residents. This is a happy home you are greeted on arrival by one of the staff who is friendly and kind to everyone. When I leave my mum I always feel she's in safe hands, residents are encouraged to take
part in all activities from crafts to indoor games to singers coming in. Trips are arranged out on a regular basis these include trips to shops, garden centres etc. These are arranged by the wonderful entertainment manager. The home asks residents and families for regular feedback and are always striving to improve. Thanks for looking after my mum so well.

Horsforth Manor and its team took care of our Mother/Mother-in-law from August 2023 and not long after the opening, right from the first day, the team were very attentive and all about trying to personalise Her experience. As a family, we were always kept up to speed with anything that we needed to
be and upon visiting were always given an update. In the final week, we stayed with Mum in her room for 12-14 hours a day, we couldn’t have been looked after any better with the staff not only looking after Mum, but us as well with equal support, drinks, meals the odd chat and a few tears and when the inevitable happened it was a privilege to have several members of the care team at the bedside creating a lovely memory of an otherwise sad moment.
I can not thank the team enough across the board and there are so many people to thank, amazing and I would recommend to anyone.
Thank you for everything.

I am so glad I found Horsforth Manor for my dad. The home is beautiful, like a luxury hotel. His room was spacious and attractive with plenty of room for his own things, and ensuite facilities. The management team and the carers are so caring and compassionate. My dad was given the most exceptional
care in the Haven Unit. He settled in quickly and was very happy in his last weeks. He loved the carers who displayed real affection for him. The activities are fantastic, and he loved joining in singing whenever he could. The staff were always friendly and helpful to me too and I always felt welcome there. There was plenty of room in the spacious lounge for me to sit with my dad. The other residents always looked happy and well cared for. The food always looked good and the chef came to chat to my dad and other residents often. I couldn't have wished for anything better for him in his last weeks of life. It was amazing. Thank you.

Stunning care home with a superb manager and an excellent team of staff. My mother-in-law is being cared for in an environment which is more like a 5-star hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and patient and always have time for her. We feel very welcome when we visit and there is always something
for the residents to do if they wish. We visited many many care homes before deciding on Horsforth Manor and are so pleased that we found this place, it is amazing!

During my dad’s recent stay at Horsforth Manor Care Home, the team showed utter compassion and care, love and kindness, not only to him but to our wider family. My dad was cared for with dignity in a wonderful environment and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The team went out of their way
to show understanding and offer support during a very difficult time and we thank them wholeheartedly.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.943)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.943) out of 10 for Horsforth Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.943 for Horsforth Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (410 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 422 Ratings = 4.943
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Horsforth Manor Care Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
