Although naturally it took mum some time to settle - she always speaks highly of the staff and her enviroment and says she knows she could not be in a better place.
All her medical needs are well observed - and if there is any concern I am always contacted.
The monitoring is exceptional - which on
my frequent visits - I often see.
The family know she is happy and content - and that's what we wanted to achieve.

Reply from Emma Medici, Home Manager at Tranby Park Care Home

Beverley Parklands Care Home

from Catherine O (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 August 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad has been at Parklands for 5 yrs now. What we love about his care is that two members of staff, in particular, have been there with him since the beginning, and their love and care have been amazing. We so value their oversight to Dads' wellbeing and their genuine interest in our family and ensuring
he has the best care possible. Over the years the Haven staff have been so great for Dad, and with relatively little turnover, his care givers have been consistent which has made a huge difference. Its so important for us that the team we interact with have his history and wellbeing in mind as we continue to develop and evolve his care plan. We so appreciate the staff, with their dedication to the Haven residents, and our ability to feel less guilt about the situation we find ourselves in. No family wants to send their loved one to a care home, but the Haven team have continued to make the decision the right one for Dad and allowed us to feel confident he is in the best place for him. Thank you team Haven.

Reply from Sammi Atkin, Home Manager at Beverley Parklands Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience Catherine. It really means a lot to us to hear how supported your dad and your whole family have felt over the past five years. We're especially touched to hear about the team members who've been with him from the start. Building those long-term relationships is so important, and it's wonderful to know their care and familiarity have made such a difference. Consistency is something we work hard to maintain, so we're really glad that's been your experience. We know it's never an easy decision to move a loved one into care, and it's incredibly meaningful to hear that you feel confident in that choice and in the support your dad is receiving. That's exactly what we aim for, to provide a place where families can feel peace of mind, and residents are truly known and cared for. Thanks again for your lovely feedback. We'll be sure to pass your message on to the team, it will mean a lot to them!

We had a look round before mum went for respite. We found staff friendly and honest about how the home was run. The home had a simple but clear referral process, this meant we were reassured that Cqc recommendations had been implemented. The building was lovely and well maintained. Mums room was lovely,
with an well equipped en-suite..This respite stay provided us with reassurance that she was safe and well looked after.

Reply from Casey Rorks, Home Manager at Cottingham Manor Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We're really pleased to hear that you felt welcomed and reassured during your visit, and that the referral process was clear and transparent. My mother has been a resident for 2 years now and the care she receives is good. The care she requires has changed over the two years and the home kept up with her needs. The only concern I have is the stability of staff and the home has had a number of changes over the two years.

Cottingham Manor Care Home

from J S (Daughter of Resident) published on 30 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad went into Cottingham Manor initially for respite, but rapidly required permanent care.
The home manager efficiently arranged transfer to a more appropriate room to help monitor Dad and keep him safe.
Seniors , carers, caterers and all staff tried to help Dad settle and to support us as a family.
We
were always able to speak with senior staff regarding any concerns, and felt staff had Dad's best interests at heart.
He was treated as an individual and with respect.
Our wish was for Dad to live in a lovely home and be cared for.
Sadly, after a few months, Dad unexpectedly died in hospital following acute medical complications .
In 2023, staff at Cottingham Manor cared for our Mum, providing end of life cares to a very high standard.
Certain staff went over and above during her stay, to ensure continuity of care and keep Mum comfortable.
This was never forgotten, and the main reason for trusting them to care for Dad too.

Reply from Casey Rorks, Home Manager at Cottingham Manor Care Home

Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. On behalf of everyone at Cottingham Manor, I would like to express our deepest condolences for the loss of your Dad. It was a privilege to care for him, just as it was to support your Mum previously. Your trust in us to look after both your parents means more than words can express. We're glad to hear that you felt supported by our team and that you found comfort in the care and respect shown to your Dad. Our staff across all departments strive to treat every resident as an individual, and it's reassuring to know that this made a difference during such a difficult time. Thank you again for sharing your experience and for placing your trust in us. Please know that you and your family remain in our thoughts.

When my dad & I made the difficult decision to move my mum (who has dementia & cancer) into care, we were filled with fear, uncertainty & guilt. We were so anxious about whether she would receive the attention, compassion, & care she deserves. From the moment we stepped through the doors of WP & onto
the Birch unit those fears began to ease. The staff welcomed us (& more importantly, mum) with open arms & warm hearts. They took the time to truly understand her needs, preferences & history, treating her as the unique individual she is rather than just a resident. The level of care & professionalism is outstanding. Every member of the team at WP goes above & beyond not only to ensure her health & safety but also to provide emotional comfort & companionship. They are patient, kind & clearly passionate about what they do. We've watched mum settle in, smile more, & even regain a bit of her spark (something we hadn't seen in quite some time). We're so very grateful to all at WP.

Thank you so much for your beautiful and heartfelt message. We understand how incredibly difficult it can be to make the decision to move a loved one into care, especially under such emotional circumstances. Your trust in us means more than words can express. It's truly heartening to hear that your first impressions of the Birch unit helped ease some of those initial fears. I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the whole team, who will be deeply moved by your appreciation. Thank you again for placing your trust in us.

My late cousin booked into Louth Manor for a weeks respite whilst I went on holiday,
1 week turned into 9 months as at the home my cousin had a beautiful large room, mobility electric bed, on suite wet/bathroom, lifts, 24/7 care, basically everything she needed so it was so much more comfortable and
catered for her needs as she was suffering bone cancer
The staff are lovely not just to patients but also visitors

I visit almost every day so I am fully aware of how the home is run. There have been many staff changes in recent months, which have improved on how the home was run previously. All these changes have made living at Haxby Hall much better for my husband. The new manager has experience in all fields
of care and in my opinion has added to how the home has improved. It is very important that family are kept informed at every level of change to their loved on in residence and this has been achieved.

from Sue W (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

After the review I wrote 3 months ago I'm delighted to be able to say that there has been a real turnaround at the home for the better. Concerns raised by myself and other relatives have been listened to and acted upon. I could see that the staff all wanted to show they could provide excellent care
and I promised that if we could have one month without a serious negative incident then I would gladly update this review.
A new manager, company support, and a staff that are thriving on the positive feedback that comes from delivering great care, are all making HH am excellent care home. Communication is improving markedly and systems have also improved.
The biggest win for me is that, when there has been something wrong, it is taken seriously, addressed quickly and sorted out appropriately. I've realised in the last couple of weeks I'm finally visiting Mum and not arriving at the home each day to troubleshoot a list of problems. Thank goodness for that!

Reply from Emma Littlewood, Area Manager at Haxby Hall Care Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful and heartfelt update. We truly appreciate your honesty and the opportunity you gave us to improve following your previous review. We're absolutely delighted to hear that you've seen such a positive turnaround. Your recognition of the team's dedication means a great deal to us - everyone has worked hard to ensure that the care we provide is not only safe and consistent but also compassionate and personal. We're especially pleased to know that your visits with your mum have become more peaceful and positive. That's exactly the kind of experience we want for all our families. Your feedback about communication, the new management, and the way we respond to concerns reassures us that we're moving in the right direction. Thank you again for your support and for holding us to a high standard. We look forward to continuing to build your trust and to making a place where residents and their families feel genuinely cared for.

I booked for one week's respite care - a little holiday. I have enjoyed a change of company and getting to know many of the residents. The staff have been very kind and helpful. There is a good atmosphere, blending freedom with safety rules. I have booked to stay another week later in the year.

Sleaford Manor Care Homes

from Donald F (Respite Resident) published on 13 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

I stayed here for 3 weeks in May & was not quite sure what to expect having witnessed my late wife's brief stay in a Care Home several years ago.
I should not have had the slightest concern as my stay at Sleaford Manor was an absolute joy.
From the moment I arrived I was greeted by very kind, polite,
smiley & caring Staff. who always made a point of asking how I was whenever we met.
This lovely Care Home is beautifully furnished & in a lovely setting with immaculate gardens.
If ever I need care in the future I know that I shall want to return to this 5* Hotel!
