I went with mum with a heavy heart to have two weeks respite as a care home was never part of what we had hoped for. During this time mum wanted to stay as she felt so safe there ,she soon made some friends. All the staff from reception, maintenance, cleaners, carers,
activity leaders and management
all go out of their way to be friendly and chatty to all the residents. Family are also made to feel welcome and can visit freely. The range of activities put on are really well thought out and can include family members which is so nice to do things with your loved ones and other people I felt they really expanded life for my mum She loved the food and there was always something she liked she also enjoyed the communal atmosphere of the dining room and amazingly her weight improved Sadly mum was put on end of life care due to an unexpected illness. So her stay here altered but once again they showed mum and the family what true care in this setting can be , for this I thank-you

Lindsey Hall is the best care home I have come across. It is clean and well run. The food is excellent and all the carers without exception are cheerful, friendly and genuinely caring. The manager is always helpful and addresses any concerns we have. The staff liaise with my parents in laws doctors
surgery, regarding medications and appointments. The carers have flagged up several medical concerns regarding with my in laws and potentially avoided more serious situations. I have marked activities down because my in laws don't do them although, they may be offered, but I don't know.

Lovely building which was nicely furnished, very well organised. Staff were very friendly and warm in general and had a good sense of humour. It was a relaxing experience. There was a lot of choice of food, when and where I ate, where I spent m time, what activities I chose to join. It felt like a hotel
rather than a care home, but staff were there if I needed it.

I attended a themed afternoon tea on Friday the 29th of August, with my granddaughters and close friends. The whole experience was exceptional, the food, attention to detail and staff being of the highest quality. My mother in law was in tears and said it was because she was so happy. You can't ask
for more than that! She had been visited earlier in the week by 2 old friends, their first visit! They were so impressed with everything and said every member of staff had a smile on their face, priceless!

My mum (who has dementia) recently stayed at Rawcliffe Manor for respite care while we went away on holiday. My mum received a very high standard of care throughout her stay & had opportunities to join in with a range of engaging activities & to socialise with other residents. The staff were all extremely
caring & made sure that all of her needs were met, not only physical but also social & emotional as well. I was able to see photographs of my mum on the social media page meaning that I could see that she was enjoying herself. The care home is meticulously clean & well organised. This is the third time my mum has stayed at Rawcliffe Manor for respite care & I can go away on holiday knowing that my mum is safe, happy & being well looked after. Thanks again for ensuring that my mum had a lovely stay with you. Highly recommend!

We had a look round before mum went for respite. We found staff friendly and honest about how the home was run. The home had a simple but clear referral process, this meant we were reassured that Cqc recommendations had been implemented. The building was lovely and well maintained. Mums room was lovely,

Dad went into Cottingham Manor initially for respite, but rapidly required permanent care.
The home manager efficiently arranged transfer to a more appropriate room to help monitor Dad and keep him safe.
Seniors , carers, caterers and all staff tried to help Dad settle and to support us as a family.
We
were always able to speak with senior staff regarding any concerns, and felt staff had Dad's best interests at heart.
He was treated as an individual and with respect.
Our wish was for Dad to live in a lovely home and be cared for.
Sadly, after a few months, Dad unexpectedly died in hospital following acute medical complications .
In 2023, staff at Cottingham Manor cared for our Mum, providing end of life cares to a very high standard.
Certain staff went over and above during her stay, to ensure continuity of care and keep Mum comfortable.
This was never forgotten, and the main reason for trusting them to care for Dad too.

I visit almost every day so I am fully aware of how the home is run. There have been many staff changes in recent months, which have improved on how the home was run previously. All these changes have made living at Haxby Hall much better for my husband. The new manager has experience in all fields
of care and in my opinion has added to how the home has improved. It is very important that family are kept informed at every level of change to their loved on in residence and this has been achieved.

After the review I wrote 3 months ago I'm delighted to be able to say that there has been a real turnaround at the home for the better. Concerns raised by myself and other relatives have been listened to and acted upon. I could see that the staff all wanted to show they could provide excellent care
and I promised that if we could have one month without a serious negative incident then I would gladly update this review.
A new manager, company support, and a staff that are thriving on the positive feedback that comes from delivering great care, are all making HH am excellent care home. Communication is improving markedly and systems have also improved.
The biggest win for me is that, when there has been something wrong, it is taken seriously, addressed quickly and sorted out appropriately. I've realised in the last couple of weeks I'm finally visiting Mum and not arriving at the home each day to troubleshoot a list of problems. Thank goodness for that!

Sadly my dad only spent 2 weeks in Haxby Hall, before passing away. All the staff that looked after dad were amazing, treating him with care and compassion at all times. We couldn't have asked for better care for him.
My only regret, dad didn't spend more time at Haxby Hall, being looked after by the
extraordinary people that work there.
Thank you, to each and every one of you, for the comfort and support you gave us all over his last few days.
