Merriman Grange is an exceptional, modern and well appointed care home. The staff are all friendly and have provided an excellent level of care for my mum. It is comforting to know that she is being so well looked after. She was confined to bed before she arrived, but is more mobile now and is able to engage with the many and varied activities on offer. This has done her the world of good. In addition to this, the facilities are outstanding. I am happy to recommend Merriman Grange.
Thank you for these kind words. We are really enjoying getting to know your Mum, she's an exceptional lady. Thanks again for choosing Merriman Grange for her care.

Every member of staff is wonderful, from the carers, management to cleaners and minibus driver. Everyone is kind, friendly, and genuinely cares about the residents. They are also very welcoming to family and friends that visit regularly.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and have been furnished to a very high standard .The food is amazing ! There are always a variety of homemade dishes. They offer excellent facilities plus a varied activities programme that changes each week.
Merriman Grange feels more like a five-star hotel than a care home, while still providing exceptional care. I have already recommended it to several people and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic care home for a loved one .
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. We're very grateful and we know it helps other families to hear first hand accounts like this. It's been our pleasure to have your Dad at Merriman Grange. He's a very lovely man. Thanks again for the kind words.

My sister and I had already viewed Merriman Grange last year, along with some other care homes, with the view of mum becoming a resident at some stage. We were highly impressed with the quality of the home and all its amenities when we viewed it last year along with the level of care and attention from the staff which we observed whilst we were there and decided that it was the place we wanted mum to go to in order to be cared for.Since she has been in there Merriman Grange and the team of staff have risen above our expectations and we are truly thankful that we chose the home.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Thank you so much. It can be really helpful for other families who are supporting loved ones at home to hear that, although very daunting, a move into a care home can be a hugely positive experience. Thanks again

Our experience with Merriman Grange, is absolutely exceptional. Both my sister and I cannot be more happy with the care our Mum is receiving. It was, at first, difficult for us to make this very big decision, but it was the best thing for Mum and knowing that she is being cared for and looked after by the most amazing staff is truly wonderful. We could not wish for a better place for Mum and I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everybody at Merriman Grange for everything they do for all of us.
Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot. It's been a pleasure to get to know your Mum.
Our Mum went into Merriman Grange in February 2026 on a respite arrangement. We had looked at numerous care homes but knew that Merrimans was rather special as soon as we walked through the doors. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming; everyone genuinely looked happy to be working there....
Mum decided to stay after her respite came to an end. She had quickly made friends, which was enabled by the numerous and varied activities. Residents are encouraged to join in but there is no pressure. In the last few weeks Mum has started to personalise her room with some items from home. She tells us regularly that we couldn't have found anywhere better for her and that she is very well looked after and everyone is lovely.
Sincere thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Thank you for the kind words. We love seeing new friendships form within the home. It's really heartwarming to see that sparkle in the residents when they get to know a few people and slowly find their feet. It's been a pleasure to get to know your Mum.

My mother was in Merriman Grange for 4 weeks while she recuperated from a fall, she has Alzheimers and was unable to care for herself while immobilised with an injured shoulder. The care she received there was incredible and she was nursed back to a position of being able to return home. The staff were all very kind and friendly, a lot of time and effort was put into meeting mums needs and ensuring she was happy. Visiting was a pleasure as everyone was very welcoming and there is a lovely cafe and gardens. It was a difficult decision to place mum there, but after my first visit I knew we had done the right thing and I wouldn't hesitate to place her there again if the need arises.
Thank you so much for this review. We're so pleased to hear that the stay at Merriman Grange did what it needed to do to help your Mum return home safely. It's so great to hear that she felt welcomed and well cared for. Thanks again.

My parents have been beneficiaries of the Care provided by Merriman Grange Care home since it opened in April 2025. I have regularly visited them during this time & have been delighted to see them settle in & become part of a growing residential community, making new friends & enthusiastically joining in the many events organised by the Home. There is a very nicely balanced mix of privacy, when they want to retreat to their rooms & luxuriously furnished communal areas for socializing & entertaining visiting family & friends. Very importantly, the care & support is there to help them 24/7, via regular visits throughout the day, help when required getting up or going to bed & at the push of a button when needed. The meals are excellent & can be taken in one of the three restaurants or in their room & are as hot in their room as when served at table!! I leave them always reluctantly, but in the knowledge they are very happy & superbly looked after. Merriman Grange was an excellent choice
Many thanks for taking the time to write this review. It's a really comprehensive account of your experience and we're very grateful. I'm sure other families will find it very useful to hear first-hand experiences like yours. It's been our pleasure and honour to get to know you all.

I needed support when my mum first went in as it was a tough time but I was well supported by Jan & her colleagues.
The people are so lovely and nothing is ever too much for anyone who works there. I would highly recommend this care home.
Thank you so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure to look after your Mum. It can be really difficult to support a parent through an operation and hospital admission. You and the family had a lot to contend with at that time - it was the least we could do to help smooth the way a little bit. Thanks again for taking the time to write your review.
My mum had 2 respite stays at Merriman Grange at the end of last year. I cannot recommend it highly enough. All the staff are friendly, kind & professional. The bedrooms and all the communal areas are beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The food is varied and of a high quality and...
Merriman Grange is more like a 5 star hotel than a care home - highly recommended in all areas.
It was a pleasure to have your Mum stay with us. We look forward to seeing her again in the future. Many thanks for taking the time to submit your feedback. It's much appreciated. Thank you.

Mum moved in last September. Although it took her a while to settle, the care and support from everyone at Merriman helped tremendously. Her room is amazing, and with all her personal bits and pieces, it feels like her home. The facilities are fantastic with a wide range of activities to choose from. Mum particularly enjoys the minibus trips. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and caring. We are confident that mum is safe and well cared for, and no longer on her own. There is always someone available for a chat.
Many thanks for your review. This sort of insight is a great help to other families. It can often take a while to settle in - it's can be a huge change. We're all here to provide care and support to help the transition from home to residential care. We navigate the small bumps in the road together - we're so pleased your Mum is happily settled. Thank you once again.

We are very happy that our mother is a resident at Merriman Grange. It is a warm and caring home with friendly staff and you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. There are many welcoming communal spaces, either to share time with visitors or other residents or to sit quietly with a book or a cup of coffee. Activities to stimulate mind and body are provided mornings and afternoons and the staff encourage residents to participate but respect their need for quiet time too. The facilities are very modern, clean and of a high standard. The bedrooms are well designed, with plenty of storage and shelving for displaying personal knick-knacks. Overall the Merriman provides a beautiful, luxurious, friendly environment, which is exactly what we wanted for our mother's care.
We can't thank you enough for the kind words. Your mother is very much a part of the Merriman community and we are delighted that she chose to join us. Thank you again.
I can highly recommend Merriman Grange. My mum stayed there for five weeks of respite care and truly loved her time there. From the moment she arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and consistently went above and beyond - especially the wonderful care team, who showed such kindness and...
There were plenty of engaging daily activities for her to enjoy, including trips out, which she really looked forward to. The food was of an excellent standard, and she also formed some lovely friendships while she was there. It was such a comfort knowing she was so well cared for, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Merriman Grange to others.

One thing that we're all aware of at Merriman Grange is that the transition into a care home is a journey made by the whole family and circle of friends, as well as the resident. We keep that in mind during those early weeks and months, and try to ease any natural worries. Your Mum is an absolute delight and a much-loved member of our community. Thank you again.
From the moment we arrived at Merriman we were met with friendly and professional staff. The facilities are wonderful with spacious rooms but also plenty of activities or quieter spaces to enjoy. Every member of staff is friendly and approachable and it is clear that they all love their job and...
Whilst our 100 year old mother was booked in for a two week respite care and understandably anxious, as were we, as she had never been in a care home every effort was made to ensure that she was comfortable and nothing was too much trouble... even the 3.00am cup of Ovaltine on waking in the night.
The choice of food is outstanding either in the restaurants or in their own rooms and just the right amount of food for a smaller appetite.
Exceptional care and service from everyone made the whole experience very easy and we had nothing to worry about at all.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so pleased that you were able to get away and have peace of mind that your mother was in good hands. It was an absolute pleasure to care for her. She's a truly remarkable lady.

We're very grateful for your review - many thanks! Your Mum has settled really well since her move. She's nearly always to be seen in the communal areas of the home, always keen to take part in the activities on offer. We're so pleased that she chose Merriman Grange and made the move. Thanks again for taking the time to offer this feedback.

The move to Merriman was difficult for my father due to the loss of my mother on the day of his move, every member of staff was sensitive to this difficult time and have supported dad with understanding and kindness.
The facilities are wonderful with spacious rooms, many communal areas for group activities as well as quieter spaces to enjoy. One is always welcomed by a member of the reception team on arrival. The care staff are all friendly, approachable and proactive checking all is well. The number of staff on duty is excellent which means they have time to talk to you and give each resident the attention they need. The housekeeping team provide excellent services with efficient laundry system and care of the all facilities.
The food offering is outstanding and staff check residents are coming to the dining room or happily provide tray service if individuals wish to eat in their rooms.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Having your father move in at such a difficult time must have been incredibly hard. We can only begin to imagine what you and he went through. Thanks again for placing your trust in the team.

My relative receives the kindness and professionalism she requires with patience and support to lead her life as she wants to. It is a great relief to find a home she can now call 'Home'.
Thank you for sparing the time to share your experience. It has been our pleasure to help your relative settle into her new surroundings, making Merriman Grange the place she now comfortably calls 'home'. We're delighted that she chose to join us.

There are lots of staff providing round-the-clock care, giving the home a very professional but friendly feel. If I have questions, there's always someone available, and our requests have been actioned quickly. Her room is big, with a door onto its own patio, and when I visit we can sit there or in a cafe, a lounge or in the garden; we never just sit in her room. There's a minibus too and she regularly goes on trips out. The activities are varied, and the home have gone out of their way to cater for my mum's specific needs and preferences.
Many thanks for your fantastic appraisal of Merriman Grange. Since moving in, your Mum has become a very established member of the community. It's lovely to see her get so involved in all the trips and activities. Thank you again for the kind words.

I have only highest praise for all of the staff and facilities at Merriman Grange. The admission process was friendly and professional with every request and question answered and implemented without hesitation. The home is equal to that of a 5 star hotel with amazing care, service and food. Every staff member is friendly and approachable and clearly loves their job and where they work. The bedrooms are large, secure and beautifully decorated with many communal areas including outdoor seating, cafes and even a cinema! There are endless amazing features of this home. Our uncle was very nervous and hesitant to make the move to a care home, but if we had known how happy he was going to be here, we would have made the move a long time ago. Thank you all so much for looking after our uncle with such care and compassion. He is the happiest we have seen him in a long time.
Thank you so much for your comprehensive review of Merriman Grange. It often helps other families to read about a recent experience, particularly when someone is hesitant about making the move, like your uncle. We're very grateful. Thank you for the kind words.
My partner enjoyed a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Merriman Grange. We found the facilities and care to be first rate (5-star). At all times, the staff were considerate, caring, polite and patient. I have nothing else to say because everything is top rate!

As General Manager, I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for residents, relatives and loved ones. I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with care regulations. I am passionate about ensuring the residents have a safe and friendly environment that they can call home.
I have over 15 years’ experience in the health, social care, hospitality, and luxury property management sectors. I lived in the UAE for several years and managed the Wellbeing Operations in the world-renowned Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. My background in five-star service and attention to detail drives my commitment to delivering exceptional care and creating a warm, dignified environment for the residents and their families. I combine operational excellence with compassion, ensuring that every individual feels respected and supported.
Having lived abroad for many years, I’ve embraced different cultures and experiences that have shaped my love for travel and adventure. A passionate sports enthusiast, I previously played for Brighton & Hove Albion women’s team and have taken on endurance challenges, including cycling the 7 Emirates for charity and most recently completed the London to Brighton Bike Ride. That was always on my bucket list. I thrive on pushing limits and embracing new challenges.

As Home Admissions Advisor, I am the first point of contact for anyone considering becoming a resident at Merriman Grange. I work together with families and friends to ensure that their loved one’s move into our care home is as smooth as possible. Together with my colleagues, we provide support and reassurance to everyone involved in the process.
I also represent Merriman Grange in the local area, collaborating with local groups and charities to support our residents and the wider community. I’m very proud that Merriman Grange was congratulated by the Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce for our community engagement.
I joined the care sector in 2021 as a Client Liaison Manager for a Care Home Group, where I was responsible for helping families and residents navigate the transition into a care home. I have supported several homes across Bucks, Berks, Surrey and Hertfordshire. My aim has always been to deliver the best experience possible for those entering care. Now a resident of Worthing, I am delighted to represent Merriman Grange and Cinnamon Care Collection within Worthing and the surrounding communities. I have worked in front-facing roles for most of my career. I had previously managed customer service teams in both the private and charity sectors.
Moving to Worthing was prompted by the love of the sea. I like nothing more than a long coastal or cliff walk to help me switch off and reset. My main passion is live music and entertainment. I enjoy attending concerts, festivals, comedy and theatre productions. I’m a real foodie – mainly eating, rather than cooking – and probably watch way too many cooking shows!

I’m proud to be part of a team that strives to make every resident feel welcomed, valued and truly at home, while helping them stay closely connected to the community around us.
My ExperienceI’ve been fortunate to work across many areas of the care sector. I began my career as a Dental Technician, running my own lab for 25 years, before moving into the charity sector as a fundraiser for a hospice and for two branches of Mind in Kent and West Sussex. From there, I found my way into care homes, taking on a Customer Relationship Manager – a position very similar to the one I proudly hold today. Supporting people has always been at the heart of what I do, and I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships with those I meet along the way.
About MeI moved to Shoreham-By-Sea 3 years ago as I always wanted to be able to be close to the sea. I have been married for over 30 years to my wife, Helen. We have 3 children – well, adults now! – Ben, Josh, Ella and a small dog called Luna. I love walking with Luna and enjoy running 5 km up to full marathons.

As Head Housekeeper, I am committed to creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming home-from-home environment for our residents, where they feel valued, at ease, and well cared for.
I bring a wealth of experience in hospitality and residential care. My background includes working as Catering and Events Manager at the Cambridge Union Society, where I developed strong hospitality and organisational skills while managing high-profile weekly talks and debates in the historic debating chamber. These events allowed students and members to meet and engage with individuals who shape our world, including leading figures from politics, science, the arts, sport, and entertainment. I also had the privilege of hosting several episodes of the BBC’s Mastermind in the chamber.
In addition, I worked as a Residential Matron at a boarding school, where I further strengthened my leadership and organisational abilities, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, care, and comfort for the students in my care.
Outside of my professional life, I am a very proud mum to four children. They share my passion and competitive spirit for sport, which keeps our family life energetic and fulfilling. I have a lifelong love of sport, particularly football, and spent three years in the Girls’ Youth Academy at Arsenal FC, where I developed strong values around teamwork, commitment, and discipline. I am also a devoted Liverpool FC supporter - much to my dad’s disapproval!
In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, weekly Pilates classes, travelling and exploring new places, reading, attending live music, and visiting West End musicals. I believe these experiences enrich my life and positively influence the compassionate, attentive approach I bring to my role every day.

As Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator, I’m passionate about creating meaningful, person-centred experiences every day. I love getting to know each individual’s story – understanding their needs, interests, likes, and life adventures – so I can help tailor activities that truly bring joy. Whether it’s through a shared smile, a heartfelt conversation, or a fun group session, my goal is to ensure every resident feels welcomed, valued, and engaged. Supporting wellbeing, building connections, and helping people live life to the fullest is what drives me every single day.
I have been working in the care industry for over 10 years, and it’s a field that truly holds my heart. My journey began after studying a Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification at college, which first inspired me to pursue a career supporting others. I started out as a Carer, then progressed to Senior Carer roles within residential care homes – building hands-on experience and forming strong, meaningful relationships with those I supported. About four years ago, I was offered the opportunity to become an Activity Coordinator – and it completely changed my perspective on care. I discovered just how powerful meaningful activities and personal connections can be in enhancing quality of life. Since then, I’ve proudly worked in Wellbeing & Lifestyle roles, focusing on creating joyful, person-centred experiences that empower residents to continue doing what they love, without limitations. Alongside my care work, I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Sociology. The Sociology aspect of my studies gave me a deeper understanding of the social and environmental factors that can impact a person’s ability to live fully and freely. This knowledge continues to shape the way I support residents today – ensuring they are not only cared for, but truly seen, heard, and celebrated. I absolutely love what I do. Seeing residents smile, share stories, and genuinely enjoy each day brings me so much happiness and pride.
I’m a naturally enthusiastic, bubbly, and warm-hearted individual who always tries to bring a smile to those around me. Family means the world to me, and I love spending quality time with them whenever I can. Outside of work, I have a deep curiosity about the universe – quite literally! I find joy and peace in stargazing, and I’m fascinated by astrology and space. It’s a hobby that keeps me inspired and constantly learning.
I also have a keen interest in true crime and investigative research. I enjoy independently exploring cold cases and learning about global criminal justice systems, which links back to my academic background in Criminology and Sociology. In my downtime, you’ll often find me watching documentaries or crime series – it’s not just entertainment for me, but a way to better understand human behaviour, social structures, and the world we live in. Whether it’s through meaningful connections at work or personal passions at home, I’m someone who loves learning, connecting, and making every day count.
