My name is Selina, and I am the Customer Relationship Manager at Woodland View Lodge Care Home. My role is to support and guide individuals and families from the moment they enquire, helping them navigate what can be one of the most difficult decisions, choosing the right care for themselves or a loved one.
I changed my career in 2011 following my father-in-law’s diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia, an experience that inspired me to work within the care sector. Since then, I have dedicated my career to supporting others, with a particular passion for dementia care. I have previously worked for the Alzheimer’s Society and ran a local Dementia Action Alliance within the community.
Outside of work, I am a proud mum to my son Oliver and a dog owner to two energetic fur babies, Barney & Gizmo, so my spare time is spent either being a taxi driver or enjoying long dog walks.
I look forward to welcoming you to Woodland View Lodge and supporting you every step of your journey with us.
Leigh brings a wealth of experience with her:
15 years in the motor trade, working on reception and even organising major Land Rover events. Experience in domiciliary care, including working as a Deputy Manager, and 5 years working in reception roles within care homes
She loves the variety of her role and that no two days are ever the same. Whether she’s meeting staff, residents, relatives or professionals, Leigh says the home feels like a happy and friendly place to work.
Outside of work, Leigh is a proud mum to two grown-up children and a doting grandmother of two. In her spare time, she enjoys trips to the pub, watching rugby and ice hockey, and treating herself to the occasional bottomless brunch!
Karen is a registered nurse who has previously worked in A&E in America, bringing valuable international experience to her role. Since returning to the UK 15 years ago, she has continued to build her career, most recently working as a General Manager in a nursing home.
What Karen loves most about her role is simple but powerful: being able to help people every day
Outside of work, Karen is kept busy by her twin girls, spending much of her spare time running around after them. When she gets a well-earned moment to herself, she enjoys relaxing with a good book in the garden.
