My husband very recently spent one week at Tudor House for respite care. He was warmly welcomed by the staff and soon settled in enjoying the company of others but most importantly he was well care for during his stay. From our very first visit to look around Tudor Home we could see that there was a
relaxed and warm environment that residents were experiencing. The general manager was attentive to both my husband's needs and to mind, so that the week's respite would benefit us both. I have no hesitation in my husband returning for a further respite period.
Reply from Amanda Hawley, General Manager at Tudor HouseThank you so much for your lovely review of Tudor House, we strive to provide a person centred approach to all our residents. Looking after your husband was a pleasure. We look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Lovely staff. Extremely friendly and caring.
Really nice care home. They do the best they can with the tools they have.
For improvement I'd suggest more staff to support the demand from patients. Dementia is extremely challenging and it puts strain on the residents as well as visitors.
More support
is needed for staff and visitors but otherwise it's lovely.
Feel more activities would be good.
And regular towels being provided in bedrooms which we asked for multiple times.

The staff at Dale Brook went out of their way to help me when emergency repairs needed doing in my mums bungalow. She went in for daycare and had a lovely day. Everyone was so kind and helpful to both her and me, and made a very stressful situation so much easier. She enjoyed her lunch and coffee and
cake! I cannot speak highly enough of Dale Brook. Since it opened last year, we've also enjoyed coffee mornings and community activities there on a regular basis

My mother stayed at Fairwood Fields for two weeks as respite care following a recent health problem. I was impressed with the facilities and care provided all round, staff, food and general environment. As a retired GP I have visited many care homes over the years and I think it fair to say that I have
never been in one that provided a better level of service.
I was particularly impressed with small things such as providing a daily newspaper, obtaining my mother's preferred evening drink and offering a range of extra activities such as flower arranging and a cheese and wine evening. Keep up the good work!
Reply from Lynn Robinson, General Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you for your kind words. We are very proud of our facilities and care that is provided at Fairwood Fields. It was a pleasure to be able to support your mother after her recent health issues. We are please that your mother enjoyed her stay and the activities that where provided in her 2 weeks that she was with us. We agree that some times it is the little things that make such a difference such as a preferred drink, newspapers and providing activities which our residents choose. We hope to meet your mother again.

My mother came into Ponbay care home at the beginning of February, I was anxious as I didn't think she would be happy to stay at the home, but from the moment Mum went through the front door all the staff from reception to management to the carers made Mum feel so special and welcome,
I've been
truly amazed as to how Mum has settled in and I believe this is down to the caring attitude of staff. Mum has taken parts in different activities that she wasn't doing at home and has enjoyed her meals sitting at a table again ,
The Home itself has been designed very well with many different areas to sit, it's beautiful and light inside with every aspect fought through to make everyone stay there comfortable,
I would like to give a special thank you to Gaylynne, Zach, Chloe, Shelley, Emma, Mandy, Natalie, these are just some of the wonderful staff who made Mum feel very welcome.
I look forward to many more visits and having memorable times with Mum again

Bradshaw Lodge was by far the best home I saw while looking at care homes. The interior is spacious, well designed, and decorated to give a calming and pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are imaculate, clean, with ample storage and television, visotors are welcomed and the staff helpful and nothing is too
much trouble, the residents are well looked after and have plenty of activities and entertainment and treated well.

Bowesbury is easy to find with plentiful parking. There is a warm welcome at Reception and a relaxed, calm and homely atmosphere within the house. The high standard of furnishings, decor and cleanliness are most impressive. There are plenty of cheerful, helpful, caring staff on hand. The facilities
provided are excellent - including a hair salon, cinema, garden room, bar, library and plenty of quiet areas. There are separate dining areas on each floor and a good choice of food and drink. With a comprehensive list of organised activities for residents should they wish to join in, and a gentle morning Keep Fit session there's plenty to keep everyone busy.
In short, Bowesbury has a great deal to offer to anyone who is looking for high quality care.

My Mum had a 2 week Respite stay at Dale Brook. Her room was just like a nice hotel, very comfortable as well as practical with a large TV. There were a few lounge areas, all very comfortable and homely as well as practical. The staff were very professional, attentive and friendly, they all tried

From the level of care shown by the staff, to the cleanliness and organisation of the whole place. I know she will feel truly happy and looked after there! I have had other friends who
have also joined care communities and after recently visiting them too - I can unequivocally say this is one of the best care homes I've seen!

My mother in law was admitted to Ponbay Care Home as an emergency over the Xmas period after breaking her shoulder/humerus. She was assessed urgently and welcomed into Ponbay the following day ie 24th December where she spent a very happy 8 weeks, whilst she was recovering sufficiently to go back to
her independent living.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the wonderful care and support she was given at such a difficult time in her and our lives. All the staff treated her with kindness, dignity and respect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Care Home to others in need.

My father went in 26th Jan 2026. It was for 2 weeks respite. After the first 3 days, he decided he was going to be a permanent resident. Dad has changed so much in the short time; he's loving the food and all the staff. My husband and I, my sister and brother in law all think the staff are wonderful,
they always have time for everyone. Dad is now so much more happier, brighter, engaged and back to how he was years ago. Fairwood Fields is the best thing for all of us, thank you.

Immaculately clean and a well presented home. A feeling of luxury, warmth and comfort. From what I saw it seemed like a 5 star care. The facilities and room seemed to provide a high level of care and attention to detail to ensure all the residents needs are met.
Whilst I was there I heard a saxophone
player who was entertaining residents in the lounge area. This sounded lovely and provided a relaxing atmosphere to the home as the sound carried around the building and to my friends room.
Very polite and friendly staff who were extremely attentive, maybe a little too many descending on me during my visit to ask me about my visit and friend!

Tudor House is the most welcoming care facility. Exceptional attention to every detail. All staff are happy to put residents and visitors at ease. The gentle approach we chose ,of visiting at least once a week for approximately 4 weeks, before my wife's week long respite, was accommodated. Allowing

Tudor House is a good care home. Most importantly, there is a high ratio of staff to residents and the staff are both friendly and caring. Rooms are well-equipped, beds are comfortable and the en suite washing facilities aid privacy. Added to this the very good, brand-new facilities, varied, good quality
food and drink and high standard of cleanliness, altogether give the feeling more of a comfortable hotel than a home. The 'open door' policy enabling relatives and friends to visit and partake of meals with their loved-ones at any time (at no extra charge) is convenient and confidence-building. When issues arise, management listen carefully to any points raised and are quick to respond effectively.
Overall, Tudor House is consistently good across the board and definitely worthy of consideration should you be looking for a care home.

Amazing! We were trying to find somewhere for our mum who was in hospital. Nowhere felt right, then we came to see Bowesbury. Simply stunning. The facilities, ambience and welcome are head and shoulders above all others we looked at. We visited on Saturday, rang up to confirm we would like Mum to go
on the Monday, they came to the ward the same day to assess her, spending lots of time to find out all about her. She moved in the next evening. It was incredible.
The staff have been so supportive, not only of Mum but also for us as a family in what has been a really traumatic time. They really have have been a light in the darkness.
Their social media page shows what they have been up to and its so nice to see the lovely activities going on.
We feel so lucky to have found this gem.
I cannot thank the whole team enough. What was looking like a bleak road ahead, now seems so much brighter.
Thank you Bowesbury!!
