I had a lovely welcome when I entered the home, staff were really friendly and caring. My friend is having respite care for a few weeks and I could see that she was thriving, enjoying the food and activities and chatting to other residents. Lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout. I was invited to join
in a Christmas card making activity. My friend said her room was lovely but I didn't get round to seeing it.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The ambience of the home is first class, the staff are caring excellent and knowledgeable. The food is great but could do with some variation at lunchtime. I have been a resident since the home opened and have waited until now before writing my review to see whether the standard is maintained which
it is despite some small staffing problems which ALL care homes are suffering. Despite this my husband has now moved in and is very happy with the quality of care. The management listen to any concerns and does react accordingly to them. Keep up the standard!!!
Reply from Charlotte Pardon, General Manager at Middleshaw HillsThank you very much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We are delighted to hear that you continue to enjoy the ambience of the home and that our staffs care, knowledge, and dedication have made a positive difference to you.

We truly appreciate your feedback regarding lunchtime menu variety and will be sure to share this with our catering team as we are always looking for ways to improve. It is especially rewarding to know that despite the challenges faced across the sector, you feel the high standards of care have been maintained.

We are so pleased that your husband has settled in well and is happy with the quality of care he is receiving. Thank you again for your kind words and continued trust in our team your support means a great deal to us.

My sister has Alzheimer's disease. She has always lived independently, but her condition has advanced to a situation where she is no longer safe alone. The staff at Middleshaw have managed the delicate balance between acknowledging her independence with giving her support. Their good humour and kindness
make a big difference. They treat the residents with respect.
Reply from Charlotte Pardon, General Manager at Middleshaw HillsThank you so much for sharing your experience. We understand how difficult it can be when a loved ones Alzheimers progresses to the point where independent living is no longer safe, and were truly grateful that you entrusted us with your sisters care.

Its wonderful to hear that our team has been able to strike the right balance between supporting your sister and respecting her independence. Maintaining dignity and choice is incredibly important, and your feedback means a great deal to everyone here.

Were also delighted that youve felt the kindness, good humour, and respect shown by our staffthey work hard to create a warm, reassuring environment for every resident.

Both my parents have gone to Middleshaw Hills and I just cannot fault it. We had got to crisis point and the staff there really 'pulled out the stops' to get everything sorted, so my parents could get in there quickly. The service from day 1 has been exceptional, super friendly staff throughout the
home, who introduce themselves and want to help. The care and compassion provided by the care staff is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. There is a weekly programme of events and residents can join in with anything they wish, helped by the staff if required. The whole home is spotless throughout and the bedrooms/bathrooms are lovely, with fabulous views (many rooms can see Pendle Hill). A huge thank you to everyone involved.
Reply from Charlotte Pardon, General Manager at Middleshaw HillsThank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback. Were especially pleased that youve found our staff to be friendly, compassionate, and always willing to helpthis is exactly the standard of care we strive to provide every day. Its also lovely to hear that the activities programme, the cleanliness of the home, and the comfort of the rooms have all contributed to your parents feeling settled and well cared for.

My Gran is currently at Dale Brook on a long term stay up until at least Summer 2026.

She has dementia, though not currently severe.

The staff speak to her very kindly and have already made her feel welcome and at home.

The building, though strange looking from the outside, is absolutely perfect

within.

The food and drinks on offer is sublime and the activities and very fun.

I would highly recommend this care home to anybody within Derbyshire.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Having recently moved mum into Lake View Lodge, I can say it was the best move. Her previous care home had gone downhill rapidly. Lake View is very much like a first class hotel and in no way looks like a care home. I have found everyone so welcoming and the care given to mum is exemplary. The oyster
care home group certainly have the correct ethos. Everything is included, there are no hidden extras, no restricted meatimes. Relatives can visit anytime. Brilliant place. Thank you.
Reply from Becky White, General Manager at Lake View LodgeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly delighted to hear how positive the transition has been for your mum.
Our team works hard to create a warm, welcoming environment that feels more like a home-from-home than a traditional care setting, so knowing that this has been your experience means a great deal to us all. Your kind words about the team and our ethos are genuinely appreciated.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
Although from the outside the building does not look inviting Dale Brook is a wonderful place.
The staff, accommodation and food is superb.
Nothing is too much trouble, they are looking after my mum with care and attention which is all you can ask for. Having experienced
other Care Homes I can honestly say this is the best one I have ever come across.
I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone.

This is a new residential home that is just establishing itself. My mother chose this over many others due to location but also because of the good impression we had when visiting.
She is staying for a few weeks respite and the staff have been very attentive with daily activities and especially with
her specific dietary needs.
Due to get enjoying her stay so much she has extended it for another week.
The facilities and decor and cleanliness are very good and I visit her regularly whilst she has been there.
No residential home is particularly cheap but it compared favourably to others at the same level.
Reply from Donal McFadden, General Manager at Dale BrookMany thanks for your kind words. We are exceptionally proud that your mother enjoyed her stay as much as we enjoyed having her. We will be sure to pass on your kind words to our team.

Dale Brook are looking after my mother-in-law and have been so attentive to her needs.

Dale Brook is spotlessly clean, the food is wonderful, the entertainment and social needs of the residents is second to none.

I highly recommend Dale Brook

My grandmother has joined the care home for respite and I'm so pleased she has ended up here. The home is absolutely beautiful, everything is up to a really high standard.
The staff have been great at settling her in, and keeping the family involved. Adam has been so helpful from the start and made
my grandmother feel really at ease.
Thank you so much for the support

Our team works hard to make every resident feel comfortable and supported, and it's wonderful to know Adam and the rest of the staff have made such a positive impact.

My Mother has been in this home for 4 months. The facilities are excellent. The staff very caring. The food is superb. A good range of activities arranged for residents. What more could one ask for. Can't recommend it more highly.
