I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Lauren and the outstanding care she provides at the care home. From the very beginning, she has shown exceptional kindness, patience and professionalism. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel comfortable, respected and valued.
Her compassionate nature and positive attitude make a real difference. It is incredibly reassuring to know that my aunt is being cared for by someone so dedicated and trustworthy. Her hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed and they are a true asset to the home. Thank you.

Our friend was welcomed to Woodland View Lodge after we decided to move her from her previous care home. She settled quickly, and it is a delight now to visit her. Our friend refers to Woodland View as her 'hotel', and it certainly feels like that to us. Thanks so much to all the friendly management

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
This was our first visit to see our previous next-door neighbour who has dementia. We were very warmly welcomed by the staff who were friendly, yet personal. We noticed the home to be spotlessly clean, very well furnished; in fact, the environment was the best we have ever seen. For a large building,
it feels very homely, calm and comfortable. Our neighbour seems very relaxed and content and looks very well and clearly very calm.
Reply from Selina Sapsford, Customer Relationship Manager at Woodland View LodgeWhat wonderful feedback, thank you for the taking the time to review your visit, we're so pleased to hear how positive it was and look forward to welcoming you again soon, I will be sure to share with our team.

Somer Valley House

from S M (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 90 year old Mum moved in to Somer Valley in March. She'd suffered a fall and was struggling to recover from a broken hip. She moved in on a respite basis, with the intention of moving back home after a few weeks recuperating. Mum had been a fiercely independent woman prior to her fall and the thought
of moving in to a care home had never been a consideration. From the very start both Mum & l were so impressed with this fabulous home. It's a lovely bright & modern home, more like a hotel than a care facility. The staff are just amazing, so bright & chatty, nothing is too much trouble. The team work really hard to put on a great variety of activities, Mum has so much fun she's got a new lease of life. The best testament is that she has now decided to stay permanently at the home, she loves it so much.
Reply from Emma Curtain, Customer Relationship Manager at Somer Valley HouseThank you so much for such a positive and uplifting review! We love your Mum's zest for life and she really is making the absolute best of this exciting new chapter in her life. It is so lovely that you both feel like Somer Valley House is bright and modern and that you speak so highly of the staff. I will ensure I pass your kind words onto them. We are absolutely delighted that your Mum has chosen to stay with us on a permanent basis.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
As a friend of a lady who lives at Tudor House, I have been so impressed every time I visit. The home is bright, welcoming, and beautifully laid out, with plenty of comfortable areas where residents can sit, relax, and enjoy a chat with family and friends.
The cinema room is a wonderful addition and
provides great entertainment for residents. The outdoor space is lovely too, well maintained, peaceful, and perfect for enjoying some fresh air.
What really makes Tudor House special is the staff. They are caring, attentive, and always go above and beyond to make residents feel happy and valued. The food is also delicious, with a great variety of meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable.
It is reassuring to see my friend so well cared for in such a warm and friendly environment. I would highly recommend Tudor House to anyone looking for a high-quality care home.

Dad moved here at the beginning of May and we cannot commend each and every member of staff enough. They go above and beyond to give Dad outstanding care and support, nothing is too much trouble and the reassurance that our Dad is safe and being well cared for means so much to us as a family. Time is
spent with residents getting to know their likes, dislikes and personal background history so it feels like Dad is part of the Maris View family rather than just a resident.
The setting is lovely, Dad has a beautiful room with a lovely outlook and the food is outstanding. Cannot recommend enough.
Thank you to each and every one of the team.
Reply from Paula-Jayne Hulatt, Customer Relations Manager at Maris ViewHi Kirsty, Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt review of your dad's experience at Maris View. Going into residential care is a huge undertaking for any resident and their family, and not one to be undertaken lightly. Finding the right home with the right staff is a minefield and, to a large extent, a calculated risk. Finding Fairwood Fields was an absolute blessing. Not only is the home beautiful,
it has an atmosphere of kindness, compassion and understanding which comes right from the top. My Dad has now been in 11 weeks and is settled and has everything he needs. Thank you to all.
Reply from Amy Watkiss, Customer Relationship Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you for your kind words. We've just been celebrating mum's 90th birthday at Lake View Lodge. The staff, cake and setting were amazing. My mum has only been there few months. The place is like a five star hotel but most of all my mum is happy there. Thank you to all that work there.
Reply from Catherine Singh, General Manager at Lake View LodgeThankyou for your kind and positive review. We are delighted to hear that her birthday celebrations went so well. Your kind words have been greatly appreciated by our team.

We had to have my dad in respite following a fall and time in hospital. From visiting the site to getting him settled in was a very easy & quick process to which we were very grateful to the admin/mgmt team. The whole team were incredibly caring & efficient, doing their best to help our dad with this
transition. The actual home and facilities are superb. I would have no problem using the home again if needed or recommending it to others. Thank you!
Reply from Bianca Wilson, General Manager at Collington Park LodgeThank you so much for the review! We are so glad we could be of assistance and made this transition as easy for everyone as possible

Mum settled well into potters house. Staff went above and beyond to make her feel welcome and reassured her of any worries. The whole staff team are wonderful. They really work hard to ensure residents are cared for and happy. The food is lovely and serves on hot plates, to everyones liking!! Refreshments
and goodies are available throughout the day and the homemmaaycakrs are not to be missed!
All the staff work so hard to make potters house a home from home experience .
It's been a bumpy ride with management changes and lack of a social coordinator. But these issues have recently been addressed and things have improved.

Fairwood Fields

My mum has been a challenge since her diagnosis with dementia, she decided under her own will to move in to Fairwood Fields at Pontefract after attending a coffee morning open day.
Mum has struggled initially at settling in to the care home, mainly due to the dementia, but the staff have been so nice
and caring to mum through the unsettled period since mum moved in permanently in February.
The fact that mum is now in a very vice care home and is being cared for so well , keeping her secure and safe has taken a big burden off me and has in retrospect supported me, as putting mum in to a care home wasn't easy, but we knew it was the only way. We can now go on holidays, feeling relaxed knowing mum is being cared for and mum has made new friends with in the home..
A big thank you to all the staff

Fairwood Fields is bright modern & welcoming. Much thought has gone into the refreshingly tasteful decor. The choice of lounges is also a bonus & seating areas away from the TV for those residents who just choose to chat. Mum very quickly made the decision, after a number of falls within a very short
time that full time care was what she now required. My brother & I were tasked with finding a suitable residence meeting mums needs & exacting standards. We were invited to a meeting in the home & the manager followed this up with a visit to meet and assess mum. Everyone in the home is most helpful & friendly. The care staff go out of their way to get to know mum. The home has a strong management team who are involved deeply with the running, training & evolving the home responsibly.
A beautiful light filled care home which wouldn't mean anything without the CARE. Mum put her trust in us to find her new home & we delivered reassured in the knowledge that she is very much CARED for.

My mother has been very well looked after at Potter House since entering a few months ago. She feels safe and she is safe with no more falls since she arrived. The care home is clean and very modern with good facilities. The carers are friendly and chatty and my mother's social life has probably got
even better with lots of visitors as well!
