Mum needed a little bit of extra care and help following a fall, and I was due to go away for a few days. I visited Merceode Lodge, and was very impressed from the moment I walked in. I decided to choose them for mums respite, and I couldn't be happier with everything they have done for her. All the
staff are amazing, and can't do enough for mum at all times. The room is perfect, the so is the rest of the home. The food is always fantastic and freshly prepared at each mealtime. I would recommend to anyone.

The staff have been amazing, settling Mum in and caring for her. I cannot thank them enough, from the manager to the laundry staff, everyone has been so kind and helpful. When an ambulance was needed, the staff were quick and efficient whilst still being gentle and soothing.

I'm writing this as the friend of two people who have recently - winter 2025-2026 - moved from their own homes into this brand-new purpose built home, itself as one part of the new large residential housing development. I visited them both in January 2026 - and then again today, 9 April 2026. Estuary
Gardens is, like many places, "easy to find the second time!". (For your first visit it's worth knowing that it's right next to the new supermarket.) It is an attractive modern building, with ample car parking on site - and the newly planted garden at the entrance will mature as 2026 goes forward. The main entrance is easy to find (and with no steps), and the receptionists answer it promptly. I was greeted politely and cheerfully, and I found the checking-in process - my name and vehicle registration, and who I was visiting - easy and appropriate.
I was shown to the room of one of my two friends. It was bright, cheerful and spacious.

From the minute you walk in the doors you feel you've walked into a five star hotel especially with the beautiful and warm greeting from Daniella. Everything is spotless and the whole building is light and airy unlike some of the other homes I've visited. The staff as far as I am concerned are all angels
All the staff without exception are professional but personable with everybody living there, you can tell that they care and love what they are doing. Thank you to all you are all angels.

We moved mum into the home today and I have to be honest I was really worried and anxious about it, but I really needn't of worried at all. We were made so welcome and the staff are amazing and very approachable. The whole place is immaculate. We were invited to join her for lunch as part of the settling
process, which was a delight. I know she will be looked after which is a huge weight off of my mind. Thank you.

We are wanting to say a big thank you to all the staff at Copperfield Court. Although not there for very long they were nothing but friendly, helpful and caring for my Brother In Law. At the time of his passing the staff were extremely kind and caring to us and made a very difficult time so much easier
to handle, for which we thank them. Overall we cannot give Copperfield Court a bigger recommendation than to say if a time comes when we need a carehome this will be the one we look at. Once again our gratitude and thanks go to all the staff at Copperfield Court.
Reply from Nicola Howard, CRM at Copperfield CourtThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. It truly means a great deal to all of us here at Copperfield Court.
We feel honoured to have been able to care for your brother-in-law, even for a short time, and we're so grateful that you felt supported during such a difficult period. Providing comfort, dignity, and compassion-both to our residents and their families-is at the heart of everything we do.
Your recommendation and appreciation will be shared with the whole team, and it will mean so much to each and every member of staff.
Please know that our thoughts remain with you and your family. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience-it really does mean the world to us.

To helping my Mum understand a stay at Furze Field would be beneficial right through to assisting her moving in, settling, encouraging and comforting Mum, I could not have asked for more.
As with all new experiences, it has taken Mum a while to settle but I'm so thankful for the amazing staff who support
her with everything she needs; from medication to entertainment right through to ensuring her room is tidy and her clothes are clean - a wonderful service.
I also want to acknowledge the help I've received as a daughter in navigating the unpredictability, pain and deep sense of loss that comes with a parent suffering from dementia. I am learning news ways to embrace a 'shifting' relationship with my Mum and this is due to the empathy and professional advice I receive from all the staff at Furze Field.
Reply from Sara Heath, Customer Relations Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. It means a great deal to know that weve been able to support both you and your Mum during what we understand can be a very emotional and challenging time. Moving into care is a big step, and were so pleased to hear that your Mum is settling in with the help of our dedicated team. Our staff are truly passionate about providing not just high-quality care, but also comfort, dignity, and meaningful moments each day whether thats through attentive support, engaging activities, or simply taking the time to listen. We also recognise that dementia affects the whole family, and were really glad weve been able to offer you guidance and reassurance as you navigate this journey with your Mum. Supporting those shifting relationships with empathy and understanding is at the heart of what we do. Thank you again for placing your trust in us

My 90 year old mother has recently completed a 28 day respite stay here.
The care has been exceptional.
Nothing has been too much trouble.
Being of the older generation, mum improved from feeling very poorly, post a shoulder replacement, to independently making her bed and walking around.
She has
been encouraged and supported by a variety of members of staff.
The staff were all welcoming and friendly, no matter how busy they were.
Taxi's were ordered to take mum to post surgery appointments and a private lunch organised when she had some special visitors.
On the day she left, she walked confidently, looked well rested and was eager to get back to her own flat.
Thank you.
Reply from Emma Curtain, Customer Relationship Manager at Somer Valley HouseWe are so happy to read this review as it is exactly what we aim to achieve with any of our respite residents. We are so grateful that you have taken the time to write this and I will definitely be sharing your review with the whole team as they will also be delighted to learn of the wonderful effect that they have had on your Mum.

We moved mum into this excellent care home recently following a disappointing experience at another Lichfield care home. From the moment we made initial contact with Stowe Mount, care has been exceptional and mum has thrived since moving across. The level of care, attention to detail and due diligence
paid to all the family (especially mum) has been outstanding and we could not be happier. Mum is more interactive than she was, seems brighter eyed and more willing to engage with us when we come down to see her. The level of care taken for us as a whole family has been wonderful even to the point of catering for our allergies when invited to afternoon tea. The home is exceptionally well appointed; the rooms carefully planned and laid out, and the induction by medical staff second to none. The transfer was managed seamlessly by staff in the office, they seemed to genuinely care that mum would settle and they did everything in their power to make the transfer work for all the family.

My mother is a very private person and has been very independent her whole life. My father passed away in 2024 and unfortunately in 2025 the care home which my parents were in had closed. With having to move to a new care provider and being on her own mum has become very depressed and feels alone in
a strange environment, which has caused her to almost retract into herself. I think mum could do with some sort of therapy. I feel mum has decided she hasn't a place in this world or a reason to live and feels the guilt of my fathers passing is the reason not to accept she is still living. I am hoping for assistance finding help with getting a result to resolve this situation.
Reply from Rhona Sievewright, General Manager at Somer Valley HouseThank you very much for your review. It was lovely speaking with you recently & I truly appreciate the opportunity to work together in supporting your mum. As we discussed recently, we both recognise that your mum hasn't quite been herself lately and we are committed to helping her rediscover her "sparkle" that is so important to her & you. We will be gently encouraging meaningful engagement through her faith, including Church visits, as well as creating opportunities here at Somer Valley House for her to share her love of France, whether through food, language, or reminiscing about her experiences. A key focus for us will also be supporting her in building genuine friendships, so she feels more connected and comfortable in her surroundings. Alongside this, we will continue to work closely with external professionals to ensure she receives the right support for her low mood. Your insight & involvement are incredibly valuable to us & we warmly welcome any further suggestions.

This is my second review of this home in the space of a few months. Our family has had such wonderful care that I feel I need to say this in public! Both my parents are in Woodland View Lodge and have had a tough couple of weeks with their health (physical and mental). Throughout that time, day and
night, every single one of the staff have supported our family medically, practically and emotionally. They have treated my mum and dad with unfailing respect and love - and gentle humour where appropriate - and their care for me, as an exhausted and worried daughter, has meant more to me that I can ever explain. Never in my most hopeful dreams did I think a care home could be such a lifesaver and a "sanity saver". WVL is both of those things, and the care is given with such a lightness of touch, such grace and such genuine love for residents that it almost overwhelms me. I cannot praise WVL and its staff highly enough. Thank you WVL!
