Potter House Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My parents moved here for respite as they were having a new boiler installed , so just for 4 weeks. But my father who had dementia loved it. I saw him flourish and he even went on trips out. For him it was life changing. Both parents had been very resistant to a care home but in the end they both enjoyed
it. I can rate the staff highly enough, they genuinely care about the residents. My father sadly passed in November 2025 but it was great to see he spent the last months of his life fulfilled.
Reply from Lucy Lester, CRM at Potter House Care HomeThank you for such lovely and moving words. It was a delight to have your father with us and to be able to give enrichment and fulfillment. Your mum and family are a big part of our Potter House family and we look forward to seeing you soon.

My mum arrived at Bowesbury after a stay in hospital. Her hospital discharge was fraught and the staff at Bowesbury were incredible! They assessed my mum in hospital on the same day we opted to use Bowesbury. The following day she moved into a beautiful room with a queen bed and a television. The staff
are lovely and very caring. The facilities are excellent including a hair salon and a cinema room.
In a nutshell my mum had initially agreed to stay for 2 weeks to recover from surgery. She has unilaterally signed up now for 6 weeks!

Estuary Gardens Care Home

from G M (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 January 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Estuary Gardens is a happy and caring home. It provides excellent support to its residents. All staff, at every level, are approachable, friendly and interact with the residents and family members. Communication is excellent and we feel fully informed on all aspects of Mum's care. There are daily activities
on offer and families are also invited to special events regularly.
There is a great range of food on offer with residents choosing from a couple of options every day. When visiting, family members are always asked if they would like a drink. We can also join Mum, for a meal, at no extra cost. The home is kept extremely clean and the housekeeping team make sure laundry is done and returned to resident's rooms.
The facilities are amazing. Rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. The lounges and dining areas are set up to be extremely sociable. There are also two garden rooms for activities or private functions and a cinema room. All corridors are wide and the whole home is designed to take any equipment required.
This was a huge move for Mum but we can't fault the care and love that she receives daily.

Hi
I do not have a bad word to say about this care home. I was very wary about putting my mam in a care home. I had read and heard bad things against certain ones.
We'll, let me say, I shouldn't have wasted any negative thoughts about this Care Home because it's not like a care home it's just like
walking into a hotel. So, if you're thinking about putting a family member in, just do it. I cannot praise them enough. I can't believe that anyone would have a bad thing to say about this care home. I can visit and when it's time to go I can do so feeling good because I know she's in safe hands. So a big THANK YOU to the staff for all you do for our family members.

My Mother-in-law has been a resident at Dale Brook since October and she is so very proud to tell everyone that Dale Brook is her home.
It is such a comfortable, homely, place. All the staff, in all departments, are what make it the special place it is.
A wide range of activities are available everyday.
All meals are freshly cooked. Lovely, clean rooms. Laundry. Not forgetting the exceptional care, everyone receives.
Lots more is included in the price. No extras. All in!

Middleshaw Hills

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Having experienced alternative care providers prior to Middleshaw Hills what stands out most is that our relative is listened to. She has been treated with dignity, patience and kindness from the minute she first looked around and we have seen a huge improvement in her physical, emotional and mental
health in the six months he has lived at Middleshaw Hills. The level of care at MSH is exceptional and every member of staff we've met there exudes positivity and genuine respect and concern for our relative. As well as seeing the difference this has made to her it has made a huge difference to us, which we are only just realising, and which we are so grateful for.
Reply from Charlotte Pardon, General Manager at Middleshaw HillsThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and generous review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Middleshaw Hills.
We are especially grateful for your recognition of the dignity, patience, and kindness shown to your relative, as listening and person-centred care are at the heart of everything we do. Hearing about the positive impact on her physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing over the past six months is incredibly rewarding for our team.
We also appreciate you acknowledging the difference this has made to you and your family. Supporting not only our residents but also their loved ones is something we value deeply, and its wonderful to know this has brought you reassurance and peace of mind.
Thank you again for your trust and kind words they will be shared with the entire team.

Mum was settled in really well. We are very happy with the level of her care and the facilities. The staff are fantastic, very caring. We even had Christmas day dinner at the care home with Mum, it was lovely food and we had a great day.

Mum moved into Estuary Gardens in November 2024. She has been unwell and moved care homes, she has moved to be closer to family. Since her move, she has thrived, and her well being is considerably improved. The staff are all kind, caring and exceptional in every regard. Mum and all the family are very
grateful for the service provided.

My mother initially moved in for 2 weeks' respite care. After 3 days she loved Gillingham Grange Care Home and staff so much she decided to make it her permanent home. As the single carer for my mother I would never be able to give my mother this level of care and support. Thanks to the wonderful staff
I can now go back to being her daughter and enjoy our time together chatting and going out rather than doing all the jobs a carer does.
Reply from Amanda Whyte, General Manager at Gillingham GrangeThank you so very much Sarah. We are really happy to hear how well your mum has settled here at Gillingham Grange. I will pass on your lovely words to the team. See you soon. Amanda

Excellent facilities, comfy warm environment, modern features, lovely staff, excellently managed, welcoming environment, first class cleaning standards. Excellent food.
My grandmother recently moved into Gillingham Grange and has thrived since doing so. Her care is second to none and is completely
catered to her needs. All the staff are very friendly, approachable, always smiling and nothing is ever too much trouble. We as a family are very happy knowing she is in a safe and warm environment and can live her life to the full. Thank you to all the staff at Gillingham Grange.

Woodland View Lodge

My mum has Parkinson's disease and my dad is in the early stages of Alzheimers. Despite being fiercely independent, they were no longer able to manage their independent lives without distress and compromised safety. They moved to WVL in October 2025 and settled in immediately! They, and our extended
family, have always been treated with the greatest respect, dignity, consideration and genuine affection. Mum refers to WVL as 'the hotel'! The food is excellent, their room feels like home and all visitors are welcomed with smiles and happy hospitality. I know my parents are safe 24/7 and are treated like respected 'elders'. We cannot praise the staff nor the home highly enough!
