Furze Field Manor have done a great job helping my 93 year old mother settle. She has dementia but the staff are kind and patient and take good care of her. They are very good at communicating and keeping me informed as to how Mum is doing. Thank you

Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident of Bradshaw Lodge for eight months, she was the first admission. In that time she has settled extremely well which is very pleasing as, at the age of 99, she is still a very independent person. The moment you step into Bradshaw Lodge you are aware of the high standard of care and considerations afforded to the residents by the staff. The accommodation, food and activities are second to none. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bradshaw Lodge to anyone considering care for their loved ones.

Overall Experience
We have been generally happy with Furze Field. My mother has been there for about a year now. The main positive features are: - it is modern, well designed and has a high standard of facilities and decoration - the staff are friendly and caring - it is kept very clean Areas in which it might be improved: - dementia residents are mixed with normal residents and my mother sometimes finds this depressing or stressful. For example sometimes residents with dementia will come into her room and refuse to leave. So she tries to keep her room locked a lot of the time, which is a shame. - the food is okay but could be improved, such as having fresh instead of frozen vegetables or offering more interesting lighter meals. Lunches are sometimes nice but dinners are often just a sandwich or baked potato. - as resident numbers have increased the ratio of carers to residents has dropped a bit low
- the air conditioning needs improving - in the recent hot weather the rooms have been very hot

Very welcome reception. All staff very kindly and helpful. Fellow residents amiable, mostly. Meal times mostly amiable with fellow residents. Would have liked easier access to garden area but staff always willing to help gain access. All-in-all a very pleasant stay at Furze Field Manor.

On my auntie's first look round she felt at home so much so she didn't want to look at any others ! The staff have been wonderful, patient , kind and considerate to my auntie's needs but also us as a family. Nothing is ever to much trouble and your always made to feel welcome. It's clean , tidy and has many activities to choose from. There is different themed days, menus for the residents to enjoy. The rooms are outstanding and homely. Truly a great home.

Overall Experience
My experience of Bradshaw Lodge is limited as I have only visited once, but the overall impression was one of warmth from the staff, including the receptionist and kitchen staff. The decor was attractive, using warm colour very carefully and with taste. My friend seems to have settled in very happily, joining in with the activities provided. I thought that the ensuite facility in her room was rather large in what was a comparatively small room.

Since there's been a new chef and more supportive kitchen staff there has been improvement on the food.. in the main, which better caters to elderly residents taste.
Niw that the home is almost full, I get the impression the laundry and cleaning staff could do with more help.. But that's only hearsay!

Review of Bradshaw Lodge from Jemma R (Regular Volunteer) published on 12 May 2026 Submitted via Website•
Overall Experience
Having volunteered at Bradshaw since last year, I've had the opportunity to see first hand what truly sets this care home apart. From the moment you step inside, you're struck by the beautiful, welcoming environment which is bright and homely, with a lovely atmosphere. One of the most impressive aspects of Bradshaw is the extensive range of activities available. There is always something engaging happening, whether it's social, creative , or physical activities. These aren't just added extras-they are clearly an integral part of daily life. The care and respect shown to residents is wonderful. Every individual is treated with genuine dignity, kindness, and patience. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that each resident feels genuinely cared for and supported.
Having visited and experienced many care facilities, I can honestly say that Bradshaw is exceptional.

My Wife's Sister / Sister-in- Law is well looked after. All the staff are very caring and attentive toward our Sister/Sister-in Law's needs. When visiting it is a delight to see our Sister/Sister-in Law and to see how settled she is at the Home and in her Room, which is well kept, airy and comfortable. Being provided with a cup tea when visiting is also a joint treat.
All in all it is a super environment for our Sister / Sister-in Law.

Overall Experience
Furzefield is a lovely, quite new, care home. In comparison to others, it stood out to us when we were looking around for my mum. Most of the staff are warm, welcoming, caring and kind, all seem to have good experience. The facilities are excellent and the decor, situation and upkeep all align well. Exceptionally clean. Activities are provided, could perhaps be more varied with opportunities for different groups and abilities - more activity assistants needed. Who is there tries very hard indeed but it's a big job. Singers, yoga lady, artists etc regularly visit which are all popular and the odd trip out is also available. Gardens are lovely and hopefully these will become more utilised with different areas to encourage residents to engage further. Food is generally good it seems. Overall pleased with the experience and extremely grateful for the care given. A few of the carers such as Sam and the 2 Sarah's really go above and beyond and have been invaluable.

Bradshaw Lodge took care of every need for my mother during her respite stay. The staff were very attentive & caring & I cannot praise them enough. Overall Experience
To helping my Mum understand a stay at Furze Field would be beneficial right through to assisting her moving in, settling, encouraging and comforting Mum, I could not have asked for more.
As with all new experiences, it has taken Mum a while to settle but I'm so thankful for the amazing staff who support her with everything she needs; from medication to entertainment right through to ensuring her room is tidy and her clothes are clean - a wonderful service.
I also want to acknowledge the help I've received as a daughter in navigating the unpredictability, pain and deep sense of loss that comes with a parent suffering from dementia. I am learning news ways to embrace a 'shifting' relationship with my Mum and this is due to the empathy and professional advice I receive from all the staff at Furze Field.
