My experience of Bradshaw Lodge is limited as I have only visited once, but the overall impression was one of warmth from the staff, including the receptionist and kitchen staff. The decor was attractive, using warm colour very carefully and with taste. My friend seems to have settled in very happily,
joining in with the activities provided. I thought that the ensuite facility in her room was rather large in what was a comparatively small room.

Since there's been a new chef and more supportive kitchen staff there has been improvement on the food.. in the main, which better caters to elderly residents taste.
Niw that the home is almost full, I get the impression the laundry and cleaning staff could do with more help.. But that's only hearsay!
Reply from Sara Heath, Customer Relations Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you have noticed the improvements in the food since our new chef and additional kitchen support joined the team. Providing meals that are both enjoyable and suited to our residents tastes is very important to us.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the housekeeping and laundry teams. As the home becomes busier, we continually review staffing levels and support across all departments to ensure we maintain the high standards of care and service our residents deserve.

Thank you again for your valued feedback and support.

Having volunteered at Bradshaw since last year, I've had the opportunity to see first hand what truly sets this care home apart. From the moment you step inside, you're struck by the beautiful, welcoming environment which is bright and homely, with a lovely atmosphere.
One of the most impressive aspects
of Bradshaw is the extensive range of activities available. There is always something engaging happening, whether it's social, creative , or physical activities. These aren't just added extras-they are clearly an integral part of daily life.
The care and respect shown to residents is wonderful. Every individual is treated with genuine dignity, kindness, and patience. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that each resident feels genuinely cared for and supported.

My Wife's Sister / Sister-in- Law is well looked after. All the staff are very caring and attentive toward our Sister/Sister-in Law's needs.
When visiting it is a delight to see our Sister/Sister-in Law and to see how settled she is at the Home and in her Room, which is well kept, airy and comfortable.

Furzefield is a lovely, quite new, care home. In comparison to others, it stood out to us when we were looking around for my mum. Most of the staff are warm, welcoming, caring and kind, all seem to have good experience. The facilities are excellent and the decor, situation and upkeep all align well.
Exceptionally clean. Activities are provided, could perhaps be more varied with opportunities for different groups and abilities - more activity assistants needed. Who is there tries very hard indeed but it's a big job. Singers, yoga lady, artists etc regularly visit which are all popular and the odd trip out is also available. Gardens are lovely and hopefully these will become more utilised with different areas to encourage residents to engage further. Food is generally good it seems. Overall pleased with the experience and extremely grateful for the care given. A few of the carers such as Sam and the 2 Sarah's really go above and beyond and have been invaluable.
Reply from Sara Heath, Customer Relations Manager at Furze Field ManorThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and detailed review. We are delighted to hear that Furzefield stood out to you when choosing care for your mum and that you have been pleased overall with the care and support she has received.

Your kind comments about our team, facilities, cleanliness, and welcoming environment mean a great deal to us. We are especially grateful for your recognition of staff members such as Sam and the two Sarahs - we will ensure your lovely feedback is shared with them, as they will be truly touched to know the difference they have made to your mum's experience.

We also appreciate your constructive comments regarding activities and resident engagement. Providing meaningful and varied opportunities for all residents is very important to us, and your feedback is invaluable as we continue to develop and improve our activities programme and outdoor spaces.

To helping my Mum understand a stay at Furze Field would be beneficial right through to assisting her moving in, settling, encouraging and comforting Mum, I could not have asked for more.

As with all new experiences, it has taken Mum a while to settle but I'm so thankful for the amazing staff who support

her with everything she needs; from medication to entertainment right through to ensuring her room is tidy and her clothes are clean - a wonderful service.

I also want to acknowledge the help I've received as a daughter in navigating the unpredictability, pain and deep sense of loss that comes with a parent suffering from dementia. I am learning news ways to embrace a 'shifting' relationship with my Mum and this is due to the empathy and professional advice I receive from all the staff at Furze Field.

Our staff are truly passionate about providing not just high-quality care, but also comfort, dignity, and meaningful moments each day whether thats through attentive support, engaging activities, or simply taking the time to listen.
We also recognise that dementia affects the whole family, and were really glad weve been able to offer you guidance and reassurance as you navigate this journey with your Mum. Supporting those shifting relationships with empathy and understanding is at the heart of what we do.
