Care Homes Owned by Crystal Care Collection in Derbyshire

With apologies if this 'review' seems only "fair" - but I found some of the staff not easy to communicate with - a sharpness in their tone - rather treated like children which I strongly objected to. The kindness of 'some' was exemplary. The facilities found to be excellant but atmosphere lacking. Improving as time passes.

I think Dale Brook is wonderful. Lovely friendly atmosphere, lots of laughs. There is plenty to do all the carers are very kind + caring and very understanding. The home is bright, cheery + clean. The food is of a very high standard and all the meals are home cooked, plenty of choice. The place rings with laughter and I and my husband are very happy here.

My stay was for two weeks as part of my post operative recovery. I enjoyed it and was treated the way I would expect. The staff were magnificent, and some went above the expected. There was a period were illness hit the staff group but the remainder came up to the mark. The food was very good compared to the establishment I have visited. Again the temporary cover 'hit the mark'. The other residents, from my observations appeared happy and content. A good atmosphere. I hope to return for another 'holiday'.

My Dad came to live at Bowesbury initially for respite but having been there for a number of weeks he decided he wanted to stay. Sarah and her team were extremely helpful and caring and made my Dad's move an easy and happy transition. Seeing my Dads health improve over the following months have confirmed to us this was the correct and safest move for Dad. The home has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and all of the staff are always helpful, caring and understanding to each residents individuals needs. The accommodation is excellent and the variety of food is really good and enjoyable.

The care of the residents is their number 1 priority. During a recent illness the staff were extremely attentive and contacted emergency services, they kept us informed at every stage and made sure my family members had the best care.

There is nothing I can fault about it, absolutely fantastic.

All the staff at Dale Brook are exceptional - professional, friendly and compassionate; so we felt completely reassured that Mum was being well cared for & that her needs were being met. She enjoyed her break and said she intends to come back soon!

We are very pleased with how well our relative has settled into a new care home. Everyone is very kind and professional and this has made the transition seemless. Our relative now spends more time in the lounge areas of the home rather than mostly in her own room. We would like to thank the manager and all her staff for their help.

My father was in Dalebrook for 2 weeks respite. He loved everything about his stay. Thank you for taking good care of him . Big shout out to the chefs for their excellent cooking and the choice available as my father loves his food and to the carers who did a fantastic job aswell

I am impressed not only by the smartness and cleanliness of the building, but by the care shown by the staff! I am always made to feel welcome, and I sense that my friend is comfortable and well looked after. There appears to be a good number of activities for her to engage in.

The facilities are very good with excellant care. All the staff including management are very helpful and approachable and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is excellant and mum enjoyed all her meals eating better than at home. Mum is looking forward to returning for respite.

Mum moved to Dovebourne after carefully considering several care homes, and from the moment she arrived, she received such a warm welcome. She was greeted with a beautiful cake and hamper and made to feel at home straight away.

She chose a lovely ground-floor room overlooking the gardens, which feels so homely. She absolutely loves her double bed and says it's so comfortable!

The staff are wonderful - so kind, friendly and caring, and always there in an instant if Mum needs anything. They encourage her to join in with activities, which has helped her settle and make some lovely friends.

The food is fantastic too! I've stayed for lunch and the chefs are fabulous. Everything is freshly prepared, healthy and delicious.

Most importantly, Mum is so happy, and that means the world to us. I no longer feel worried or stressed knowing she is safe, settled and cared for.

A huge thank you to everyone at Dovebourne for looking after Mum so beautifully. We couldn't be happier!

The staff was so much fun and treated the residents as friends not as elderly people had such a lovely visit and my brother is very happy there and well cared for and not a burden on the staff very respectful.

Bringing Dad to another home was not an easy decision due to his Alzheimers but this has been the best decision I could have made for him. He has settled well, enjoys trips, joins in activities, made friends & has told me he loves it at Bowesbury. Thank you to the amazing team, everyone is wonderful. Dads happy, I'm happy. Thank you again xx

My mother in law had a short stay in Hatton until her passing after a few weeks , however the staff were very caring and wonderful in that short period. The care home was incredibly clean and tidy and I'm sure my mother in law would have been happy there .

Everyone at Dale Brook delivers the highest quality of care. What makes them special is that they show such warmth and kindness to the residents and their relatives. Knowing Dad is in safe hands brings me so much peace of mind. Dale Brook is wonderful, the environment stunning with many activities daily which suits Dad as he enjoys being around people and joining in. His room is beautifully kept and the food is excellent. Before Dad became a resident of Dale Brook I would have to tempt him to eat, now he asks for seconds! I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Dale Brook to anyone looking for high quality care for their loved one

Accommodation and communal areas are always clean and welcoming an it is a pleasure to visit Mum.

We had a lovely welcome from the staff upon arrival & whilst settling mum into her room, another 3 staff came in to welcome her. The room was spotless & the room had access to outside and the lovely garden. I don't think the member of staff who was looking after activities started until the week after (reason only scored as satisfactory). Would definitely recommend to others, overall excellent.
