The staff at Dale Brook went out of their way to help me when emergency repairs needed doing in my mums bungalow. She went in for daycare and had a lovely day. Everyone was so kind and helpful to both her and me, and made a very stressful situation so much easier. She enjoyed her lunch and coffee and
cake! I cannot speak highly enough of Dale Brook. Since it opened last year, we've also enjoyed coffee mornings and community activities there on a regular basis

Bowesbury is easy to find with plentiful parking. There is a warm welcome at Reception and a relaxed, calm and homely atmosphere within the house. The high standard of furnishings, decor and cleanliness are most impressive. There are plenty of cheerful, helpful, caring staff on hand. The facilities
provided are excellent - including a hair salon, cinema, garden room, bar, library and plenty of quiet areas. There are separate dining areas on each floor and a good choice of food and drink. With a comprehensive list of organised activities for residents should they wish to join in, and a gentle morning Keep Fit session there's plenty to keep everyone busy.
In short, Bowesbury has a great deal to offer to anyone who is looking for high quality care.

My Mum had a 2 week Respite stay at Dale Brook. Her room was just like a nice hotel, very comfortable as well as practical with a large TV. There were a few lounge areas, all very comfortable and homely as well as practical. The staff were very professional, attentive and friendly, they all tried
extremely hard to make my Mum feel settled as well as meeting her care needs.

Amazing! We were trying to find somewhere for our mum who was in hospital. Nowhere felt right, then we came to see Bowesbury. Simply stunning. The facilities, ambience and welcome are head and shoulders above all others we looked at. We visited on Saturday, rang up to confirm we would like Mum to go
on the Monday, they came to the ward the same day to assess her, spending lots of time to find out all about her. She moved in the next evening. It was incredible.
The staff have been so supportive, not only of Mum but also for us as a family in what has been a really traumatic time. They really have have been a light in the darkness.
Their social media page shows what they have been up to and its so nice to see the lovely activities going on.
We feel so lucky to have found this gem.
I cannot thank the whole team enough. What was looking like a bleak road ahead, now seems so much brighter.
Thank you Bowesbury!!

Our experiences for daycare so far has been amazing. I can't thank the staff enough for the care and attention they have given my mum, it has been outstanding. She comes back home talking about what a lovely time she has had and how lovely everyone is. It's such a big weight off my mind that she is
in such good hands and I don't have to worry. I will not hesitate to book her in for a stay for respite knowing that she will be so well cared for. I can't recommend Bowesbury Care home enough.

The facilities and staff at Bowesbury are great, what a lovely place. My Dad goes to the Daycare sessions (10am to 6pm) so that he can socialise in an environment where he is safe and supported. During the day he does a variety of activities which have included exercise classes (to his capability level)
and games sessions. He has also had his hair cut and has had the chiropodist visit during his day there. The staff are friendly and interested and have really taken the time to get to know him, his background and interests to engage him accordingly. My Dad loves spending the day there.
Reply from Denise Spencer, Home Manager at BowesburyThank you for taking the time to provide us with such a positive review, the team at Bowesbury really appreciate your kind comments and really pleased to hear that your Dad enjoys his experience when he joins us for the day, we as a team continue to take pride in providing the best possible care for our residents in our Bowesbury community.

My mum arrived at Bowesbury after a stay in hospital. Her hospital discharge was fraught and the staff at Bowesbury were incredible! They assessed my mum in hospital on the same day we opted to use Bowesbury. The following day she moved into a beautiful room with a queen bed and a television. The staff
are lovely and very caring. The facilities are excellent including a hair salon and a cinema room.
In a nutshell my mum had initially agreed to stay for 2 weeks to recover from surgery. She has unilaterally signed up now for 6 weeks!

My husband has been with Bowesbury for six weeks respite care. I cannot praise all the staff for their care during this time. They have gone beyond and above to make my husband feel at home. He has been happy and enjoyed his time. All staff have been brilliant admin care maintenance chef and the facilities

My Mother-in-law has been a resident at Dale Brook since October and she is so very proud to tell everyone that Dale Brook is her home.
It is such a comfortable, homely, place. All the staff, in all departments, are what make it the special place it is.
A wide range of activities are available everyday.
All meals are freshly cooked. Lovely, clean rooms. Laundry. Not forgetting the exceptional care, everyone receives.
Lots more is included in the price. No extras. All in!
If you are looking for a home for yourself or a family member, book an appointment for a look around!

My Mother went to stay at Dale Brook, initially for 2 weeks respite on 1st Oct 2025 with a view to return, (if she liked it,) in November whilst I cared for my husband after him having surgery.
She decided after 5 days that she would like to stay. Move in. Live there.
And she has!
Dale Brook is
a very special place and inside are some very special people.
As soon as you enter Dale Brook, you are made welcome and it isnt just your family members home, you are made to feel as if its yours too.
We cannot praise the staff, in every department, enough.
If you are looking for a home from home for someone you love, Dale Brooks door is the one to knock on!

Dale Brook is a modern, beautifully appointed care home run by staff who are warm caring and work hard to create a good atmosphere.
The care is amazing, my father moved in as a recently bedridden man and within days he was able to take short walks, a result solely of the support and care offered. I
am just so impressed. They didnt see him as a broken man but as someone whose quality of life could be improved. He feels and is well cared for.
The staff are cheerful and always welcome me with a smile and an offer of hot drinks.
The buiding is new and was designed around the needs of the residents with bars, cafe areas, library, cine room, garden room all included to keep residents involved and included. The bedrooms are lovely, my father has a door to the gardens and he is looking forward to summer when he can enjoy that fully.
It is more expensive than other local care homes but the combination of care and accomodation make it worthwhile in my view.

Firstly if your view of a care home is a sad rather musty place to sit and sleep think again.
Dale brook is light and bright with lots going on the staff are kind happy but above all competent, the residents are first priority treated with respect spoken with and listened too.
It was my dads first
visit to a care home for respite and he was very reluctant but from the minute he arrived he was treated with genuine care and attention which he loved and he thrived so I did't need to worry at all.
I can honestly say i cannot fault Dale Brook, the rooms are modern and comfortable with everything you need better than most hotels I've stayed in there's also a cinema room and a bar a restaurant area set out beautifully, a lounge and a garden room.
Visitors are welcome to join there loved ones for a meal too which is prepared by cooks in the kitchens on site which I must say is very good.
Thank you not only for looking after my dad but for giving me peace of mind
Reply from Donal McFadden, General Manager at Dale BrookThank you so much for your kind words Lesley! We loved having your dad stay with us and are pleased to hear that he enjoyed his time as well. I will be sure to pass your lovely review on to the rest of the team.

My mum went to stay at Dale Brooke for a holiday whilst I went away
We call it her Hotel because that's what it feels like a luxury hotel with fab caring people, brilliant chefs and great activities. Mum has dementia and I felt relaxed and happy whilst away.
They went out to a local Christmas fayre
and to the pub for a sing along , had therapy dogs visit and a Filipino dance group . They also had coffee morning with chesterfield footballers to collect toys for hospital
Lots to be involved with and visitors can go anytime day or night .

I had a lovely welcome when I entered the home, staff were really friendly and caring. My friend is having respite care for a few weeks and I could see that she was thriving, enjoying the food and activities and chatting to other residents. Lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout. My Gran is currently at Dale Brook on a long term stay up until at least Summer 2026.

She has dementia, though not currently severe.

The staff speak to her very kindly and have already made her feel welcome and at home.

The building, though strange looking from the outside, is absolutely perfect

within.

The food and drinks on offer is sublime and the activities and very fun.

I would highly recommend this care home to anybody within Derbyshire.
