Bringing Dad to another home was not an easy decision due to his Alzheimers but this has been the best decision I could have made for him. He has settled well, enjoys trips, joins in activities, made friends & has told me he loves it at Bowesbury. Thank you to the amazing team, everyone is wonderful. Dads happy, I'm happy. Thank you again xx

My Mother has lived in Spain for the last 20 years and loved it. At the beginning of 2026 things weren't right so she's ended up moving back to the UK and is now a permanent resident in Bowesbury Care Home, Derby.
From making the first telephone enquiry we just knew that the staff and team were going to suit her so we are relieved to hear that as each day passes she's settling more and more in to her new environment. The carers, cleaners, caterers and admin staff are first class with her and have all the time in the world to help her and family adjust to her new life; all in all a lovely brand new care home with excellent facilities and easy parking too which all makes for an enjoyable visit every time.

Well done and "thank you" for all that you're doing day and night. It really is appreciated.

Trying to navigate care and support for a parent with a recently diagnosed complex health issues is hard to deal with in itself. The team at Bowesbury truly understood mine and my brothers needs for our mum. Returning back to UK from living in Spain added to the complexity. But the team supported us through these unchartered waters. Their flexibility to help us solution the care for mum was excellent and pragmatic. We know that we were a unique case, but that didn't phase them. It's an adjustment for anyone to deal with and especially mum. Gladly we are starting to see the signs that she is becoming settled and feeling part of the Bowesbury family. Thank you for all that you have done to help us navigate all of this - we couldn't have done it with you.

I first visited Bowesbury Care home with my brother to ascertain if the facility would be suitable for our Father, it was an absolute blessing and our decision to request Bowesbury to look after dad was the easiest decision we have ever had to make.
We were impressed with the management and each and every one of the care team. Communication is pivotal and we have been overwhelmed with how we have been kept updated with every aspect of our dad's care.
The attention to detail and the fact the management embraced our father's personal needs has been second to none.

It's not possible to nominate or single out any of the team for going the extra mile because everyone has the same mindset of delivering an amazing caring environment not just for the service users but their respective family members. As a family we can now sleep easy knowing our father is in safe hands. Thank you to all the team at Bowesbury.

My dad became a resident at Bowesbury Care Home, Boulton Moor, Derby.
The carers, the managers, the housekeeping staff & chiefs! Have been nothing but welcoming, the food is very well liked by my dad. He has settled in very well only after a couple of weeks.
Everyone works as a team & are supportive to me as well as my dad.

I can thoroughly recommend this home to everyone who is thinking of going into one!

Very impressed with every aspect of Mum's stay so far. Having experienced a previous care home stay, both mum and I were very nervous. Mum demanded to come home within 5 hours previously, but at Bowesbury, mum has been more relaxed and is happy to go back 'home' when we've taken her out, which is the ultimate reassurance that she's being well looked after. She tells me how lovely all the staff are to her.

Bowesbury is easy to find with plentiful parking. There is a warm welcome at Reception and a relaxed, calm and homely atmosphere within the house. The high standard of furnishings, decor and cleanliness are most impressive. There are plenty of cheerful, helpful, caring staff on hand. The facilities provided are excellent - including a hair salon, cinema, garden room, bar, library and plenty of quiet areas. There are separate dining areas on each floor and a good choice of food and drink. With a comprehensive list of organised activities for residents should they wish to join in, and a gentle morning Keep Fit session there's plenty to keep everyone busy.

In short, Bowesbury has a great deal to offer to anyone who is looking for high quality care.

Amazing! We were trying to find somewhere for our mum who was in hospital. Nowhere felt right, then we came to see Bowesbury. Simply stunning. The facilities, ambience and welcome are head and shoulders above all others we looked at. We visited on Saturday, rang up to confirm we would like Mum to go on the Monday, they came to the ward the same day to assess her, spending lots of time to find out all about her. She moved in the next evening. It was incredible.
The staff have been so supportive, not only of Mum but also for us as a family in what has been a really traumatic time. They really have have been a light in the darkness.
Their social media page shows what they have been up to and its so nice to see the lovely activities going on.
We feel so lucky to have found this gem.
I cannot thank the whole team enough. What was looking like a bleak road ahead, now seems so much brighter.

Thank you Bowesbury!!

Our experiences for daycare so far has been amazing. I can't thank the staff enough for the care and attention they have given my mum, it has been outstanding. She comes back home talking about what a lovely time she has had and how lovely everyone is. It's such a big weight off my mind that she is in such good hands and I don't have to worry. I will not hesitate to book her in for a stay for respite knowing that she will be so well cared for. I can't recommend Bowesbury Care home enough.

The facilities and staff at Bowesbury are great, what a lovely place. My Dad goes to the Daycare sessions (10am to 6pm) so that he can socialise in an environment where he is safe and supported. During the day he does a variety of activities which have included exercise classes (to his capability level) and games sessions. He has also had his hair cut and has had the chiropodist visit during his day there. The staff are friendly and interested and have really taken the time to get to know him, his background and interests to engage him accordingly. My Dad loves spending the day there.

My mum arrived at Bowesbury after a stay in hospital. Her hospital discharge was fraught and the staff at Bowesbury were incredible! They assessed my mum in hospital on the same day we opted to use Bowesbury. The following day she moved into a beautiful room with a queen bed and a television. The staff are lovely and very caring. The facilities are excellent including a hair salon and a cinema room.

In a nutshell my mum had initially agreed to stay for 2 weeks to recover from surgery. She has unilaterally signed up now for 6 weeks!

My husband has been with Bowesbury for six weeks respite care. I cannot praise all the staff for their care during this time. They have gone beyond and above to make my husband feel at home. He has been happy and enjoyed his time. All staff have been brilliant admin care maintenance chef and the facilities are outstanding. I would highly recommend and would use Bowesbury again. Thank you all.
