Very impressed with the home. Friendly staff, very clean and new and many things other homes charge extra for like hairdressing are included.
They were also very quick and helpful with the admission and transfer.

I was so impressed when I first visited my mother-in-law, from decor and rooms, to the wonderful management and all staff. Very welcoming and friendly, always asked if I wanted drink/cake or bisuit, food looks amazing. The residents are always supplied with snacks + drinks. The cinema room is excellent,
activities to choose form, outings for residents 'weather permitting'. Doctors visits each week, hair salon, family rooms for visitors to dine with their loved ones. I highly recommend Gillingham Grange to anyone.

My mum moved into Gillingham Grange the first day it was opened 30/10.25. It is a very luxurious home, the care team are wonderful, so caring toward residents. Very polite and helpful, all staff + management are friendly always welcome you, providing beverages biscuits + cake, nothing is too much trouble.
I am so glad that this care home was built, not far for me to travel. My mum is so happy there, its the best thing, for me to know my mum is happy safe and well looked after. I would recommend this care home without a doubt.

My parents moved here for respite as they were having a new boiler installed , so just for 4 weeks. But my father who had dementia loved it. I saw him flourish and he even went on trips out. For him it was life changing. Both parents had been very resistant to a care home but in the end they both enjoyed
it. I can rate the staff highly enough, they genuinely care about the residents. My father sadly passed in November 2025 but it was great to see he spent the last months of his life fulfilled.
Reply from Lucy Lester, CRM at Potter House Care HomeThank you for such lovely and moving words. It was a delight to have your father with us and to be able to give enrichment and fulfillment. Your mum and family are a big part of our Potter House family and we look forward to seeing you soon.

I highly recommend Potters House who have made my Nan feel so welcome. The home is brand new and immaculate. Lovely rooms that have everything needed and can be personalised with photos and pictures to feel like home.

Having visited various care homes over the past few years, I know that Potters

My mother initially moved in for 2 weeks' respite care. After 3 days she loved Gillingham Grange Care Home and staff so much she decided to make it her permanent home. As the single carer for my mother I would never be able to give my mother this level of care and support. Thanks to the wonderful staff
I can now go back to being her daughter and enjoy our time together chatting and going out rather than doing all the jobs a carer does.
Reply from Amanda Whyte, General Manager at Gillingham GrangeThank you so very much Sarah. We are really happy to hear how well your mum has settled here at Gillingham Grange. I will pass on your lovely words to the team. See you soon. Amanda

Excellent facilities, comfy warm environment, modern features, lovely staff, excellently managed, welcoming environment, first class cleaning standards. Excellent food.
My grandmother recently moved into Gillingham Grange and has thrived since doing so. Her care is second to none and is completely
catered to her needs. All the staff are very friendly, approachable, always smiling and nothing is ever too much trouble. We as a family are very happy knowing she is in a safe and warm environment and can live her life to the full. Thank you to all the staff at Gillingham Grange.

From the very minute my Dad stepped into Gillingham Grange in Chard to view the new care home, he was instantly taken under their wings.
It was immediately obvious to Amanda, that my Dad urgently needed care and somewhere safe, warm and attentive that could meet his needs, in fact, she knew it was
not safe for him to go back to his home to collect some belongings.
Amanda and her team have gone above and beyond to assist my Dad in his journey back to health. Every detail with regards his care and medical needs is safely in their hands; well managed and communicated with all professional bodies.
Living so far away, I can take great comfort knowing that Dad is in the most thoughtfully thought out care home; spatial yet homely with rooms that are modern and functional which is complimented with the most amazing, professional, compassionate, attentive carers who provide warmth, dignity and encouragement every day.
Other members of staff also contribute hugely to this wholesome environment.
Reply from Amanda Whyte, General Manager at Gillingham GrangeThank you so much for your lovely review Sharon. I will pass on your kind words to the team. It really is our pleasure to see the improvement with your dad since coming to Gillingham Grange. Looking forward to you visiting soon. Amanda

I spent Christmas week at Gillingham Grange having asked for respite care, respite from caring and cooking for myself. The reception I received from the staff, whether management or care, without exception, was out of this world (divine?) their kindness, solitude, smiles made me feel so welcome. It
was a real treat from living alone with pulmary fibrosis.

From the first time we walked through the door, we got that feeling and knew it was the right place for my mum. The no team are not just carers: they are friends who truly listen and want to improve the resident's lifes. Simply stunning place which has swept away the old concept of what a care home
was like 20 years ago. - somewhere you had to go rather want to go it. The level of care is exceptional and genuine, and good wonderful.

As a family we made the decision to place a family member into the care of Potter house.
We had an initial tour with a staff member and she was extremely helpful, giving us all the relevant details and making us feel very comfortable with the care our relative was going to receive.
The manager has
also been a huge help to our family as it's been difficult with other family members living overseas, and has gone out of his way to ensure our relative is happy and settled and keeps regular communication with family.
The home itself is beautiful, very well maintained. All of the staff are lovely and friendly, cannot do enough for the residents or the families who visit.
We love that the home encourages social activities not only for the residents but also for their families to join, it's just a lovely touch.
Cakes are also usually 10/10.
And also a special mention to another staff member, he is helpful and happy whenever we visit and so friendly always!
Would highly recommended potter house!

Coming to visit our old friend for a second time we were again struck by the cleanliness and arrangements and hospitality of the staff.
The gardens however were very disappointing everything wanted a through watering. To walk around and see everything looking so sad cannot be good experience. Such
a sad waste of time and money to plant up what were beds with great potential is such a shame. Other than that we were so pleased to see our friends so taken care of.
Reply from Callum Pearce, General Manager at Potter House Care HomeThank you for your wonderful review of potter house and we are pleased to hear your experiences have been pleasant. We take great pride in our home and gardens and unfortunately with shortage of rain we have been unable to maintain the garden as well as we would have liked. Going forwards are lucky to have water butts, in house maintenance and new gardeners to support with the upkeep of the gardens. We strive for being economically friendly and try and reuse water where we can. The care for our residents, home and community is of upmost importance and we take your comments onboard.

My son and daughter were looking for me to have a couple of weeks' respite, and as soon as they found Potters, that was the place to be. I spent 2 weeks in there, and it was out of this world. Everything was spotless and very clean. As for the staff, I can't thank them enough, they were superb, kind,
helpful, friendly, they were fantastic. I would recommend Potters to everyone, and if the time arose, I would be back there in a shot. Many, many thanks to everyone.
