As a family we made the decision to place a family member into the care of Potter house.
We had an initial tour with a staff member and she was extremely helpful, giving us all the relevant details and making us feel very comfortable with the care our relative was going to receive.
The manager has
also been a huge help to our family as it's been difficult with other family members living overseas, and has gone out of his way to ensure our relative is happy and settled and keeps regular communication with family.
The home itself is beautiful, very well maintained. All of the staff are lovely and friendly, cannot do enough for the residents or the families who visit.
We love that the home encourages social activities not only for the residents but also for their families to join, it's just a lovely touch.
Cakes are also usually 10/10.
And also a special mention to another staff member, he is helpful and happy whenever we visit and so friendly always!
Would highly recommended potter house!

Coming to visit our old friend for a second time we were again struck by the cleanliness and arrangements and hospitality of the staff.
The gardens however were very disappointing everything wanted a through watering. To walk around and see everything looking so sad cannot be good experience. Such
a sad waste of time and money to plant up what were beds with great potential is such a shame. Other than that we were so pleased to see our friends so taken care of.

Going forwards are lucky to have water butts, in house maintenance and new gardeners to support with the upkeep of the gardens. We strive for being economically friendly and try and reuse water where we can. The care for our residents, home and community is of upmost importance and we take your comments onboard.

My stepfather came to Potter House after a spell in hospital. He received a warm welcome and staff helped him to settle. We are always welcomed when we visit and feel at ease to ask about him as well as any questions that we have. We know that he is being well cared for and his needs met.

My husband was well looked after. The staff were very patient and I can't praise them enough. Facilities very clean and spacious. Eating areas not confined to one place with plenty of space to walk around.

My son and daughter were looking for me to have a couple of weeks' respite, and as soon as they found Potters, that was the place to be. I spent 2 weeks in there, and it was out of this world. Everything was spotless and very clean. As for the staff, I can't thank them enough, they were superb, kind,
helpful, friendly, they were fantastic. I would recommend Potters to everyone, and if the time arose, I would be back there in a shot. Many, many thanks to everyone.

I cannot recommend the staff at Potter House highly enough, they are ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC in every respect. My dad is receiving the very best dementia care from all the team, me and my family cannot thank them enough.
Every single member of staff that we have met are knowledgeable , attentive and caring,
we have even seen dad enjoy himself to a level pre his dementia.
The home is extremely well managed, the care is second to none and the food, from what dad tells me is better than in a 5 star hotel!! The premises are very well appointed and luxurious with every care taken in the design and decoration to help people suffering from dementia.
The team at Potter House consistently go above and beyond in providing care and support for dad and are always proactive in keeping us informed of things. Everything they do is with a smile on their face and with the utmost consideration for my dad and the family's feelings.
Potter House and its staff are "Simply the Best" Thank you everyone!!

I could not be more grateful to all the staff at Potter House who have made my mum feel so welcome. I truly believe she is receiving the best care, her every need is catered to and the staff go above and beyond for anything she needs! The chefs are amazing and serve the most delicious food, she often
has manicures and pedicures, she has her hair done every week in the salon and gets to go out every day down to the shop for her morning paper! She's been to a show, taken for an eye test and her Drs nothing is too much trouble! Would highly recommend Potter House to anyone looking for full time care. It is nicer than some 5 star hotels I've stayed in with lovely grounds and gardens.

My father was in respite for 2 weeks. Whilst he was there he was extremely well cared for. The staff and management were friendly and compassionate to his needs and nothing was too much trouble. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay and the food was "superb". The home itself is beautifully laid out and
the rooms are spacious and clean.

Callum Pearce

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2024

Callum has dedicated 13 years to the care sector, starting his journey at the young age of 15 when he discovered his passion for the job. Over the years, he has managed two care homes, successfully turning one around in terms of its CQC rating. By the age of 22, Callum had progressed to Deputy Manager and, at 24, became a Registered Manager. He has led both a 23-bedded turnaround home and a 46-bedded home, gaining extensive experience in elderly and dementia care.


Callum holds qualifications in health and social care at levels 2, 3, 5, and 6 and is currently completing a master’s degree in healthcare management. His passion for delivering high-quality care is evident in his leadership style, which focuses on empowering his team, being visible and approachable to staff, residents, and families, and upholding the belief that “the standards you walk by are the standards you accept.”


With a vision to inspire his team to provide outstanding care, Callum is committed to making Potter House a safe haven for all and an integral part of the community.

Emily Barnes

With over 16 years of experience in health and social care, Emily brings a wealth of expertise, dedication, and heart to her role. Her career began in nursing homes, where she built a strong foundation in delivering compassionate, person-centred care.


Emily holds a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management and has successfully supported two care homes as an Interim Manager. She’s passionate about leading and supporting her team to deliver high-quality care and takes a particular interest in all things medication-related—always ensuring best practices and resident wellbeing are top priority.


Outside of work, Emily enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and staying active at the gym.

Jessica

Jessica Stuart

Job Title: Front of House Manager Joined: 2025

Jess brings a strong background in administration across various sectors, including her role as a Reception Supervisor in a busy GP surgery in Aberdeenshire. Her experience in healthcare, combined with her time as a student nurse, gives her a deeper understanding of the care and support residents need at Potter House.


Originally from a rural village in Aberdeenshire, Jess relocated to Yeovil in April 2024 with her partner, who serves in the military. She has quickly become an integral part of the Potter House team, ensuring residents, families, and visitors feel welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive.


Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time with her two beloved cats, Beef and Steve (both girls!), often taking them on camping adventures. She also has a passion for languages and has been self-studying Italian and Russian for several years, with aspirations of one day completing a degree in languages.

Lucas

Lucas Garside

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2025

Lucas has over five years of hands-on experience in the care sector. His passion for supporting others started early—growing up helping family members with disabilities gave him a strong sense of empathy and purpose.


Lucas holds a foundation degree in Public Services and a bachelor’s degree in Health and Social Care. Lucas focuses on making sure residents are treated as individuals—encouraging their independence and giving them space to be themselves.
