After speaking to a few local residential care providers, Potters really stood out. From the very beginning, there was a genuine warmth and understanding of Dad's needs that gave us so much reassurance. What was originally meant to be just a four-week respite stay soon became something more. Seeing the positive change in Dad, how settled he had become and the difference that having people around him every day made to his wellbeing, made the decision for him to stay permanently feel like the right one.
There's a huge sense of relief in knowing that Dad is safe, cared for and, just as importantly, has companionship and social interaction every day. It means so much to see him settled and enjoying a better quality of life.entrusting someone you love to the care of others is never an easy decision to make Thank you so much team Potter house

After 3 weeks in hospital recovering from a fractured femur Mum decided she would like to go for respite care. Potter House was the second care home that we viewed and as soon as we stepped inside we knew it would be the right place for mum. All the staff are very kind & helpful.

For him it was life changing. Both parents had been very resistant to a care home but in the end they both enjoyed it. I can rate the staff highly enough, they genuinely care about the residents. My father sadly passed in November 2025 but it was great to see he spent the last months of his life fulfilled.

We had an initial tour with a staff member and she was extremely helpful, giving us all the relevant details and making us feel very comfortable with the care our relative was going to receive.
The manager has also been a huge help to our family as it's been difficult with other family members living overseas, and has gone out of his way to ensure our relative is happy and settled and keeps regular communication with family.
The home itself is beautiful, very well maintained. All of the staff are lovely and friendly, cannot do enough for the residents or the families who visit.
We love that the home encourages social activities not only for the residents but also for their families to join, it's just a lovely touch.
Cakes are also usually 10/10.
And also a special mention to another staff member, he is helpful and happy whenever we visit and so friendly always!
Would highly recommended potter house!

The gardens however were very disappointing everything wanted a through watering. To walk around and see everything looking so sad cannot be good experience. Such a sad waste of time and money to plant up what were beds with great potential is such a shame. Other than that we were so pleased to see our friends so taken care of.

Thank you for your wonderful review of potter house and we are pleased to hear your experiences have been pleasant. We take great pride in our home and gardens and unfortunately with shortage of rain we have been unable to maintain the garden as well as we would have liked. Going forwards are lucky to have water butts, in house maintenance and new gardeners to support with the upkeep of the gardens. We strive for being economically friendly and try and reuse water where we can. The care for our residents, home and community is of upmost importance and we take your comments onboard.

Sam has worked in administration for over 35 years, gaining valuable experience across a wide range of sectors, both in the UK and abroad. She was fortunate enough to live and work in Morocco, where she developed a real appreciation for different cultures and languages and became fluent in both French and Moroccan Arabic.
After many years working in administration, Sam moved into the care sector five years ago, initially working in domiciliary care following lockdown. She then progressed into an Office Manager role, combining her extensive administrative experience with her growing passion for care. From there, Sam took on a Care Coordinator role at a care home close to home before moving into an Administrator position within the same home.
Looking for a new challenge and a role that would bring even greater job satisfaction, Sam discovered Potter House. As our Home Administrator, Sam brings a wealth of experience, excellent organisational skills and, most importantly, her enthusiasm for working as part of a team. She is particularly excited to get to know the residents, their families and her new colleagues, and to play a part in creating a welcoming and supportive environment at Potter House.
Outside of work, Sam is a very proud mum to four children — two girls and two boys — ranging in age from 28 to 11.
