Having volunteered at Bradshaw since last year, I've had the opportunity to see first hand what truly sets this care home apart. From the moment you step inside, you're struck by the beautiful, welcoming environment which is bright and homely, with a lovely atmosphere.
One of the most impressive aspects
of Bradshaw is the extensive range of activities available. There is always something engaging happening, whether it's social, creative , or physical activities. These aren't just added extras-they are clearly an integral part of daily life.
The care and respect shown to residents is wonderful. Every individual is treated with genuine dignity, kindness, and patience. The staff go above and beyond to ensure that each resident feels genuinely cared for and supported.
Having visited and experienced many care facilities, I can honestly say that Bradshaw is exceptional.

Bradshaw Lodge took care of every need for my mother during her respite stay. The staff were very attentive & caring & I cannot praise them enough. This is not just a nursing home, its a community, ensuring not only was my mother well looked after, but also all who visited her. Anyone who becomes a
resident here is extremely lucky. Quite simply the best care home I have ever seen.

As soon as my mum moved in the staff made her feel welcome and comfortable. There is always something happening there and mum enjoys joining in with the activities. Staff are always on hard to help her get around, as her mobility is limited. Meal times are fun and very sociable, as well as excelent
food. Visitors and family are always welcome and looked after with drinks etc. She has settled in well and the friendly and professional staff have helped with this.

Such a warm, caring care home, from the moment you arrive you are greeting with a friendly face and offered tea and cake. All the staff are so lovely and interact with the residents amazingly. It was nice to take part in party games, quizzes and a sing a long. Tea and food was offered frequently, home
made cake was delicious. So nice to see family friend who has dementia so happy and settled.

My mother stayed at Bradshaw Lodge in Bognor Regis for 3 weeks and I must say this is the best care home that I've ever some across! Everything has been designed and planned to the finest detail, they have gone above and beyond. Its like a 5 star hotel but better!! The care package is simply the best,
the staff are all extremely professional, kind and caring. The food is on par with top rated food and visitors can also eat/dine with their loved ones! So impressed!!!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting a close friend who has recently moved into Bradshaw Lodge. In past years, we have had considerable experience with care homes due to our elderly parents. We can honestly say, without doubt, that Bradshaw Lodge is the best establishment that we have ever visited.
Clearly, the aim is to build a warm community and close interaction between residents and staff, and the result is a relaxed, happy environment with absolutely superb facilities.

Our first visit to aunt who has been there about 6 weeks we were welcomed warmly by staff and appreciated the hospitality too.
My aunt appreciates the care and being treated with dignity regarding the personal care she receives and has settled in well.
It's a new home and there was a family and residents
meeting going on. My aunt says the home is very receptive to feedback from the residents.

Immaculately clean and a well presented home. A feeling of luxury, warmth and comfort. From what I saw it seemed like a 5 star care. The facilities and room seemed to provide a high level of care and attention to detail to ensure all the residents needs are met.

Whilst I was there I heard a saxophone

player who was entertaining residents in the lounge area. This sounded lovely and provided a relaxing atmosphere to the home as the sound carried around the building and to my friends room.

Very polite and friendly staff who were extremely attentive, maybe a little too many descending on me during my visit to ask me about my visit and friend!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.981)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.981) out of 10 for Bradshaw Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.981 for Bradshaw Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (260 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 265 Ratings = 4.981
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bradshaw Lodge is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I qualified as a Chef in 2002 at Richmond College in Southwest London and went on to work in private clubs and restaurants for a decade before establishing my own business.

My journey into the Healthcare catering industry began alongside my studies in Healthy Eating at Nescot College, where I developed a keen interest in creating balanced and enjoyable meals for all.

My dedication to my craft has been widely recognised, winning "Chef of the Year" in 2022 and the Great British Care Award "Chef/Cook of the Year" London Region Award in 2021. I believe that understanding residents' preferences is key to creating truly enjoyable meals, often taking the time to sit down with them over a cup of tea to learn about their favourite dishes and any special foods they might be missing.

I embrace coastal living and love incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients into my menus.
