My name is Marie. I am the General Manager at Bradshaw Lodge. I look forward to welcoming you into our beautiful new home.
I am an experienced, supportive, caring, and efficient leader with over 20 years of experience in the Health and Social Care sector and over 10 years in a management position.
I have worked in various Leadership and Management positions within the healthcare sector, with extensive experience working in partnership with external stakeholders and managing large teams.
I have love and passion for leading a team and being supportive of my colleagues as well as the residents and their families. I have worked with several client groups and their needs include people with Complex Physical and Emotional needs, Mental Health needs, and Behaviours that challenge Epilepsy and Dementia. The skills and competence obtained from studying for a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care have enabled me to successfully plan, lead and implement change within a healthcare setting. I have a strong work ethic and I am proud to work in the care sector, which has been recognised by NHS England, who complimented me on my leadership style, determination, and commitment to implement change working as one team. I always put people first, show kindness, and still have the energy to love life and make it meaningful for myself and those in my care.
In my spare time, I train to run half marathons and raise money for local charities. I have a keen interest in current Care Standards, legislation and Innovation, which includes– Person-centred Assessment and Care Planning, staff and carers training and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS), and designing and implementing Best Practice Guidelines for Older People and People who live with Dementia.
I am a compassionate and dedicated professional with experience in community care, administrative support, and team leadership. I live locally and am passionate about supporting families as they make important decisions about their loved ones moving into a home. With a background in elderly support, bereavement services, and coordinating placements, I bring empathy, clear communication, and strong organisational skills to this role.
I thrive in one-to-one interactions and enjoy building trust with the people I support, ensuring they feel listened to and cared for.
Outside of work, I enjoy Pilates, going to the gym, and walking my dog — activities that keep me balanced, motivated, and full of energy to bring into my professional life.
Gulchin qualified as a chef in 2002 at Richmond College in Southwest London and went on to work in private clubs and restaurants for a decade before establishing her own business.
Her journey into the Healthcare catering industry began alongside her studies in Heathy Eating at Nescot College, where she developed a keen interest in creating balanced and enjoyable meals for all.
Gulchin's dedication to her craft has been widely recognised, winning "Chef of the Year" in 2022 and the Great British Care Award "Chef/Cook of the Year" London Region Award in 2021. She believes that understanding resident's preferences is key to creating truly enjoyable meals, often taking the time to sit down with them over a cup of tea to learn about their favourite dishes and any special foods they might be missing.
Gulchin embraces coastal living and loves incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients into her menus.
