Overall Experience
Ponbay Lodge is an absolutely beautiful home. The rooms are fresh and clean and the dining room, living room, cinema room, in fact every room, are all really tastefully furnished and dressed with beautiful flowers, artwork and ornaments, at the same time being homely and comfortable.
Starting at the reception Gailynne always greets you with a warm friendly welcome. Zac the manager would come out and say hello. They make all the family feel as important as the residents. All the staff are amazing. Friendly and cheerful in their work. Who wouldn't be?? What a wonderful place to work.

The food is good and fresh. The family are also offered tea, coffee and cakes, which are amazing. There is always something going on for the residents either at Ponbay or going for days out. We felt Dad (99) was safe and well cared for there and the ladies loved him!!. He sadly passed away in hospital after a short illness and we have missed all the staff as they also made us feel so welcome.

Our 90 year old dad spent three weeks respite in Ponbay Lodge
All the staff are excellent from the manager Zach to the cleaner ladies everyone greet our dad with a friendly smile and spoke to him by his name listen to him at-every opportunity
His room was cozy and high standard of cleanliness.
Myself and my two sisters could visit our dad at any point I was always made welcome. We were never an inconvenience. This made the whole experience so much better for us.
To see your dad happy and calm interacting with other people entertaining people with his monologues and sing song he had a very positive experience .
There is always home-made cakes Dad enjoyed the meals. They always look appetising puddings were always his favourite.
Our dad was in there when the weather was very hot on an occasion they got an ice cream van to visit the car park and every resident went to receive an ice cream this was very sweet. Dad really enjoyed this.

We will always keep Ponbay Lodge in mind .

My mother has been staying at Ponbay Lodge since September starting with Respite stays but now permanent. The home is small and has a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere.
Mum has a lovely room which opens out on to an attractive courtyard. So she can go straight out of her room to sit and have coffee which she's starting to do. She also has a sea view! The Staff are all lovely all kind and friendly. Mum enjoys good quality meals. I feel shes safe and well cared for.

Perhaps more varied activities would be appreciated.

The home is beautiful. Always clean and fresh. Mum's room is spacious and bright. I like the ensuite wet room enabling mum to be showered without going to another bathroom. I've found all my conversations with the staff to be friendly and helpful. Staff are caring and compassionate towards my mum. I would not hesitate to recommend Ponbay Lodge.

My mother is a resident of Ponbay Lodge and, despite her reservations at moving to a care home, she had settled very well. This is largely down to the attentive and caring staff who will always go the extra mile to ensure comfort. When I arrive at Ponbay, I am always welcomed with a smile and kind words.
The food is varied and of excellent quality, and families are welcome to join their loved ones for lunch or dinner.
Two activities are planned for each day and are designed to encourage mobility, sociability and fun.

The environment is always clean and furnishings are tasteful and good quality.

A joyous Easter Saturday spent at Ponbay Lodge. Lovely performance by the dazzling singer, all residents and their families singing and dancing. The afternoon was topped off with the most delicious afternoon tea comprising of savoury and sweet treats. Every child present took part in a colouring competition and all won an Easter Egg! My experience was everytime I visit my auntie the home is spotlessly clean.

The staff are amazing, food very tasty. The only thing I would surgest is to change the colour of the uniform as gray is dull a nice bright colour would be nice.

My grandma had been staying in Ponbay Lodge following a hip operation. The staff are all so friendly, the home is immaculately clean and the food is amazing. You can see the staff put so much effort in to making every day enriching for the residents. We have enjoyed 2 events at the home (Winnie the Pooh Party & Easter party) and on both occasions everyone has been so welcoming. Would highly recommend the home to anyone needing support

My mother came into Ponbay care home at the beginning of February, I was anxious as I didn't think she would be happy to stay at the home, but from the moment Mum went through the front door all the staff from reception to management to the carers made Mum feel so special and welcome,
I've been truly amazed as to how Mum has settled in and I believe this is down to the caring attitude of staff. Mum has taken parts in different activities that she wasn't doing at home and has enjoyed her meals sitting at a table again ,
The Home itself has been designed very well with many different areas to sit, it's beautiful and light inside with every aspect fought through to make everyone stay there comfortable,
I would like to give a special thank you to Gaylynne, Zach, Chloe, Shelley, Emma, Mandy, Natalie, these are just some of the wonderful staff who made Mum feel very welcome.

I look forward to many more visits and having memorable times with Mum again

My mother in law was admitted to Ponbay Care Home as an emergency over the Xmas period after breaking her shoulder/humerus. She was assessed urgently and welcomed into Ponbay the following day ie 24th December where she spent a very happy 8 weeks, whilst she was recovering sufficiently to go back to her independent living.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the wonderful care and support she was given at such a difficult time in her and our lives. All the staff treated her with kindness, dignity and respect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Care Home to others in need.

I immediately felt at home, all staff, whatever their role, were friendly, nothing too much trouble and went out of their way to give us all a pleasant experience. Mum went into Ponbay Lodge after a fall at home and a subsequent hospital stay. the staff were very caring and attentive and encouraged Mum with building her confidence back up in readiness for returning home. She was treated as an individual and her dignity was at the forefront of her care. She also enjoyed a few luxurious baths, which she has been unable to have for several years.

Everything that we have experienced at Ponbay Lodge so far has been wonderful. Gailynne at the front desk has been so kind and helpful with every enquiry we've made. Both Kim and Vicki in management came out to assess my mum the same afternoon to help get her care asap. Each carer I have met has been so supportive and caring, not only to my mum but all of us as a family. All the staff at Ponbay Lodge are amazing.
The home itself is brand new and purposely built, everything is beautifully presented.

After having such a difficult decision to access care, we feel so happy mum is in an environment where we know she is treated with respect and is safe.
