Lovely care home with exceptional attention of care given to my father and mother in law. Invited to join them on Christmas Day and lunch was lovely. All staff are helpful, cheerful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The care home itself is like a 5 star hotel and beautifully decorated.
Reply from Amanda Hawley, General Manager at Tudor HouseThank you for your wonderful review of our beautiful home. It means so much to the whole team when our families feel welcomed and cared for as much as our residents. Looking after your father-in-law and mother-in-law has been a privilege.

My mother moved to Tudor House in October and I immediately felt that it was the right place for her-the care mum is given is exceptional- I can't fault it- staff go out of their way to meet mum's individual needs-they have made her feel welcome, settled, engaged and more than comfortable. The place
itself is airy and light with lots of different spaces to sit in or walk to. Trips out have included a visit to the Concorde Museum and a local cafe and I know mum has been involved in various activities in the home. From what I have seen, the menu offered is outstanding. My mother's room has a patio door from which she can exit whenever she likes into the growing garden.I think it would have been a challenge to find a better new home for mum. Most grateful to all the staff at Tudor.

The experience I found made a first time in a care home less traumatic than I was worried about. The welcoming staff were friendly and put me at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Missed the recliner chair at home. Stool not good for me. Difficult switching light off from bed. (Used my stick) Overall
a happy experience.

We moved my elderly mother into Tudor House Care Home recently. We are very pleased to have made this choice. The staff and management have all been so kind, so helpful and so supportive. At Tudor House they consider both her mental and physical well-being. She has commented on how happy she is
to be living there.

My dad has moved into this fabulous care facility just this week. We've been impressed firstly by the well-trained staff and brand new facilities. My dad loves the variety on the menu and he's even been impressed by the speed of response from the carers. We had a choice of homes to review when moving
him in to the area - from another care home - and we're all delighted we found Tudor House.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.034)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.034) out of 10 for Tudor House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.904 for Tudor House is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.904
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.13 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tudor House is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.53
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
