My mother stayed at Fairwood Fields for two weeks as respite care following a recent health problem. I was impressed with the facilities and care provided all round, staff, food and general environment. As a retired GP I have visited many care homes over the years and I think it fair to say that I have
never been in one that provided a better level of service.
I was particularly impressed with small things such as providing a daily newspaper, obtaining my mother's preferred evening drink and offering a range of extra activities such as flower arranging and a cheese and wine evening. Keep up the good work!
Reply from Lynn Robinson, General Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you for your kind words. We are very proud of our facilities and care that is provided at Fairwood Fields. It was a pleasure to be able to support your mother after her recent health issues. We are please that your mother enjoyed her stay and the activities that where provided in her 2 weeks that she was with us. We agree that some times it is the little things that make such a difference such as a preferred drink, newspapers and providing activities which our residents choose. We hope to meet your mother again.

My father went in 26th Jan 2026. It was for 2 weeks respite. After the first 3 days, he decided he was going to be a permanent resident. Dad has changed so much in the short time; he's loving the food and all the staff. My husband and I, my sister and brother in law all think the staff are wonderful,
they always have time for everyone. Dad is now so much more happier, brighter, engaged and back to how he was years ago. Fairwood Fields is the best thing for all of us, thank you.
Reply from Lynn Robinson, General Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you so much for sharing your experience! Were really pleased to hear that your dad is settling in so well, enjoying the food, and feeling happy and engaged. Our team always strives to provide the best care and support, and we are honoured to be part of this next chapter for your dad and your family. Were honoured to be part of this new chapter for your dad! With Kindest Regards, Lynn General Manager.

Fairwood Fields staff all of them have been brilliant nothing seems to be too much trouble. Mum has improved loads since moving to Fairwood. The atmosphere and surroundings are so comfortable & relaxed so friendly there always seems to be something going on to keep the residents happy. I have been told
by the rest of my family and friends of mum who visit her that she is in a hotel not a home apart from being looked after so well.
Reply from Lynn Robinson, General Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you for taking the time to share such a wonderful review.
It is great to hear that your mum has settled in so well at Fairwood Fields and that you have seen such a positive improvement since she moved in. Our team works very hard to create a warm, relaxed, and friendly environment where residents feel comfortable, safe and supported to be able to enjoy their day-to-day lives. We are also pleased to hear that family, and friends feel welcome when visiting and that the atmosphere feels so homely. Your kind words about the activities and the care provided are very appreciated and we endeavour to provide the same high standard of care and support for your mum and all our residents.
Thank you again for your support and trust. With Kindest Regards, Lynn General Manager.

Hi
I do not have a bad word to say about this care home. I was very wary about putting my mam in a care home. I had read and heard bad things against certain ones.
We'll, let me say, I shouldn't have wasted any negative thoughts about this Care Home because it's not like a care home it's just like
walking into a hotel. So, if you're thinking about putting a family member in, just do it. I cannot praise them enough. I can't believe that anyone would have a bad thing to say about this care home. I can visit and when it's time to go I can do so feeling good because I know she's in safe hands. So a big THANK YOU to the staff for all you do for our family members.
Reply from Lynn Robinson, General Manager at Fairwood FieldsThank you very much for your kind review.
We understand how difficult the decision can be when choosing care for a loved one, so it means a lot to hear that you feel reassured and comfortable with your mum in our care. Our team work hard to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for all our residents and their families. Your lovely feedback will be shared with the team, who will truly appreciate your kind words. Thank you again for your trust and support. With Kindest Regards, Lynn General Manager.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.777)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.777) out of 10 for Fairwood Fields is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Fairwood Fields is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.879 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairwood Fields is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.379
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
