Mum had resisted moving from her home to residential care but came to realise she needed the extra support. She couldn't have been happier with the experience. Rownhams Manor ensures that it couldn't feel more like a loving home. She was no longer lonely - she felt happy and safe. The whole family was
encouraged and welcomed to achieve the feeling of a 'home from home'! The staff were so kind, patient and caring and made her smile to the end of her life.
Reply from Treasa Commins, Customer Relations Manager at Rownhams ManorThank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words. We are truly honoured that we could provide a loving, caring home for your mum during her time with us. It's so wonderful to hear that she felt safe, happy, and no longer lonely. We always aim to create a "home from home" atmosphere, and it's reassuring to know that she and your family felt welcomed and supported.

Our team takes great pride in ensuring every resident receives the care, kindness, and attention they deserve, and it's so meaningful to hear that your mum's smile was a reflection of that.

Thank you again for trusting us with her care. Our thoughts are with you and your family, and we're grateful to have been part of your mum's journey.

Lovely staff. Extremely friendly and caring.
Really nice care home. They do the best they can with the tools they have.
For improvement I'd suggest more staff to support the demand from patients. Dementia is extremely challenging and it puts strain on the residents as well as visitors.
More support
is needed for staff and visitors but otherwise it's lovely.
Feel more activities would be good.
And regular towels being provided in bedrooms which we asked for multiple times.
Reply from Treasa Commins, Customer Relations Manager at Rownhams ManorThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We're so glad to hear that you found our staff to be friendly, caring, and dedicated. It means a lot to us that you recognise the efforts we make to provide the best care with the resources available.
We also really appreciate your constructive feedback. We understand that dementia care can be extremely challenging for both residents and their loved ones, and we're constantly striving to improve. Your suggestion regarding increasing staffing levels and providing more activities has been noted and will be taken into consideration as we look for ways to enhance the experience for both residents and visitors.
Thanks again for your kind words and valuable feedback, we will continue to work hard to improve and provide the best care possible.

Fantastic interactions from staff with residents throughout. Nothing is too much trouble.
Mum was 90 today and we had a small celebration for her at the home where we could decorate an area for her as a surprise and there was a small buffet and Birthday cake for her. Very memorable occasion for us

I was really impressed with the overall effect of how you felt as soon as you entered the complex. It was bright and airy, spotlessly clean and well decorated. In addition, the staff were always smiling and very helpful and accommodating. This feeling of warmth and contentment remained with me as I
entered the communal lounge and dining room. Finally, my best friend's room was really nice; in fact, it was far better than a lot of hotel rooms I have stayed in.

We spent 4 weeks at Rownhams having respite care. Staff were kind, caring and hardworking. The food was very good and our clients were well catered for. The rooms were kept clean by lovely friendly cleaners and our clothes were whisked away by the laundry staff only to reappear a couple of days later
beautifully clean and ironed! Activities such as exercises, trips etc, were fun and we returned home with recharged batteries. Thank you for caring for us!

Like many, I was naturally anxious about my wife coming into a care home. The facilities here are 5 star and everything you would expect of a luxury home. What makes the building a home is the wonderful staff. They are really special from the bottom up. All, including the CEO are accessible. The food
is delicious and well prepared and presented. Snacks and drinks are always available. Rooms are modern and clean and comfortable. There is plenty of activities and entertainment to keep residents busy all day if they choose. My wife has already been on trips out as well. The gardens are peaceful and planned with thought to nature and sensory planting. Everything you want in you own home is here. But more important to me is that my wife has only been here a short time but is happy and settled. If you are looking for a home for a loved one, this would be an excellent choice.

My husband came here with dementia when he found the place we lived in was too noisy, busy, too many people, traffic, children and sirens.
He loved the space and airiness of Rownhams Manor and the peace of its surroundings. He enjoyed interaction with the staff and he settled really quickly and he
was very happy. Unfortunately a fall which snapped the head of his femur necessitated a length stay in hospital which added to his fear and confusion and brought out his negative behaviours which RM could not cater for.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They treat my mother with respect. They do their best to cater for individual needs and preferences. They make time to get to know visitors too. They help foster friendships between the residents. They encourage social activities. We took advantage of part deferred
payment while a house was being sold which was very useful.

Totally happy with the care that my mother is getting.Staff are all very kind and helpful. It was a very difficult decision for us to put her into a home but since her dementia got worse we were unable to keep her at home. The care home had only 7 residents when she moved in and she settled in straight
away.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.883)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.883) out of 10 for Rownhams Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for Rownhams Manor is calculated as follows: ( (343 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 385 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rownhams Manor is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
