Overall Experience

Like many, I was naturally anxious about my wife coming into a care home. The facilities here are 5 star and everything you would expect of a luxury home. What makes the building a home is the wonderful staff. They are really special from the bottom up. All, including the CEO are accessible. The food is delicious and well prepared and presented. Snacks and drinks are always available. Rooms are modern and clean and comfortable. There is plenty of activities and entertainment to keep residents busy all day if they choose. My wife has already been on trips out as well. The gardens are peaceful and planned with thought to nature and sensory planting. Everything you want in you own home is here. But more important to me is that my wife has only been here a short time but is happy and settled. If you are looking for a home for a loved one, this would be an excellent choice.

My husband came here with dementia when he found the place we lived in was too noisy, busy, too many people, traffic, children and sirens.

He loved the space and airiness of Rownhams Manor and the peace of its surroundings. He enjoyed interaction with the staff and he settled really quickly and he was very happy. Unfortunately a fall which snapped the head of his femur necessitated a length stay in hospital which added to his fear and confusion and brought out his negative behaviours which RM could not cater for.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They treat my mother with respect. They do their best to cater for individual needs and preferences. They make time to get to know visitors too. They help foster friendships between the residents. They encourage social activities. We took advantage of part deferred payment while a house was being sold which was very useful.

Totally happy with the care that my mother is getting.Staff are all very kind and helpful. It was a very difficult decision for us to put her into a home but since her dementia got worse we were unable to keep her at home. The care home had only 7 residents when she moved in and she settled in straight away.

Overall Experience

When my sister was suddenly in need of care we visited many care homes and Rownhams Manor stood out and was exactly care she needed. They are very friendly and are able to cater for all her needs. She has her own ensuite and the bedroom is large enough so she can use her walking stick with out clashing with the furniture. She likes the small dining rooms to eat in and the communal areas have plenty of chairs to sit in, they also have small rooms to talk to your family in. All in all, a lovely environment.

My mum had a very good experience during a short respite stay. The day after she came back home, she said she wanted to return for good and didn't want to consider other homes because she thought the staff were excellent and she had made friends there. Mum is returning permanently in 2 days. Permanent care is a huge decision as it involves the sale of a family home and parting ways with belongings but mum is positive about the decision and is looking forward to it.

The staff and facilities are excellent, and Rownhams Manor is sociable and inviting. All residents seem to be very content.

Staff put on a lovely high tea for my mum (a resident) and my wife. The team were all very welcoming and set things up in a separate room from other residents so that we could talk privately with Mum as she is hard of hearing. Complements to the chef who prepared a tasty spread.

We had a delicious afternoon tea with my mother-in-law. It was thoughtfully served in the Garden Room so we could chat as a family group. The cake stand was beautifully presented and the cakes and scones were very tasty! Thank you to the chef and staff.

Rownhams Manor is a fantastic care home and its ethos of resident-centric care has meant Dad has settled in quickly, despite never wanting to end up in a care home. The food is amazing and he now looks really healthy, I don't think he is going to have any issues getting to at least 100 with the care he is getting.
The atmosphere when you walk in is lively, the staff are all very friendly and you can visit whenever you like, so it means I can pop in after work.

All in all, Rownhams Manor is the best care home I've seen in the area, and it is a relief to know he's in a home where he's happy and well cared for.

I find Rownhams Manor wonderful. From day one I couldn't ask for any more than the staff are already providing for my parents. The facilities are more than a five-star hotel. Food is exceptional as I have personally had some meals at the Care Home myself. We are always welcomed at front door from the staff. We are well informed on my parents' health and well-being. All the residents are also just as nice and I cannot fault the home.

Rownhams Manor is a fantastic care home. From the moment we first visited we knew my mum would be very happy here. Like many people she was very nervous about such a big change in her life but all the staff have welcomed her with open arms, she has settled in very well and has made some good new friends.
The bedrooms and lounge areas are lovely and mum loves sitting outside in the garden, watching what's going on and chatting with staff, other residents and their visitors. She also enjoys watching movies in the cinema room.

Most important of all, it's the fantastic staff that make Rownhams Manor such a great place, everyone is so kind, helpful and caring. Highly recommended.

I cannot praise and thank ALL the staff at Rownhams Manor enough. Their care, friendliness, compassion, understanding and professionalism are outstanding. My mother came in on a month trial in July with a view to a long time stay, she very quickly became used to her surroundings and has settled in well. Now a full-time resident she enjoys all activities laid on, thinks food is good and loves her weekly trip to the hairdresser.

I visited my friend who has just moved into Rownhams Manor. I was impressed by the building and the facilities. The staff are lovely and very positive about the care home. At the moment the ratio of staff to residents is very high because the home is very new and has not filled up yet. My friend is very positive about the food. It is too early for me to judge how it will be when there are more residents.
