Laundrey lets you down. It's a shambles. 2 sweaters put on hot wash. Both shrunk and ruined.

Review of Tudor House from Michelle B (Niece of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My great-aunt has lived at Tudor House Care Home for seven months, and the experience has been wonderful. She loves the varied events and outings-especially getting out for fresh air-and thoroughly enjoys participating in flower arranging, an activity that keeps her mind actively engaged. My aunt also looks forward to watching her church service in the cinema on a Sunday. Tudor Houses' gardener/maintenance man is always helping Ruth with various jobs that she asks him to do, from gardening to making her a jigsaw board.
I have personally dined here, and the food is delicious. The facility itself resembles a high-end hotel: it is always spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, and incredibly welcoming. Furthermore, the staff are exceptionally dedicated and friendly, always trying to meet every resident's unique needs.

I want to thank everyone involved for the outstanding care and support you have given her since her arrival

Reply from Amanda Hawley, General Manager at Tudor House

Thank you Michelle for your wonderful five star review! We are so pleased your great-aunt loves living with us here at Tudor House, she is a genuine star and we love seeing her get involved in all the activities.

Review of Bradshaw Lodge from Len B (Son of Resident) published on 23 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident of Bradshaw Lodge for eight months, she was the first admission. In that time she has settled extremely well which is very pleasing as, at the age of 99, she is still a very independent person. The moment you step into Bradshaw Lodge you are aware of the high standard of care and considerations afforded to the residents by the staff. The accommodation, food and activities are second to none. We would have no hesitation in recommending Bradshaw Lodge to anyone considering care for their loved ones.

Reply from Chrissy Terry, Customer Relations Manager at Bradshaw Lodge

Review of Stowe Mount from Clare W (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mom is incredibly happy at this care home, and as her daughter, that means everything to me. The staff are truly amazing, caring, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile. You can see how much they genuinely value the residents, and it creates such a positive atmosphere.

The residents themselves are very friendly, which has helped Mom settle in quickly and feel part of a community. She's made lovely connections and feels comfortable and supported every day.

The building is absolutely stunning too. It's bright, modern, and beautifully maintained, which makes it feel welcoming from the moment you walk through the door.

I couldn't be more grateful for the care and kindness shown to Mom. This home has given her comfort, happiness, and dignity, and I would highly recommend it.

Review of Somer Valley House from R G (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Grandmother was admitted to Somer Valley House after being discharged from hospital following a nasty fall at home and suffering a fracture near her coccyx. Originally she was only booked for 2 weeks respite but was so pleased with the care and the home that she extended this by another 2 weeks. It is a great home with so many thoughtful touches and a lovely community feel that Gran felt like it was more of a holiday. She is looking forward to another respite stay next year when we go on holiday

Reply from Emma Curtain, Customer Relationship Manager at Somer Valley House

Thank you so much for your kind review. We do hope that your Grandmother is still recovering well and enjoyed her time here with us as much as we enjoyed having her. It is fabulous to hear that your gran will be back next year for a respite stay.

Review of Furze Field Manor from Adrian M (Son of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We have been generally happy with Furze Field. My mother has been there for about a year now.
The main positive features are:
- it is modern, well designed and has a high standard of facilities and decoration
- the staff are friendly and caring
- it is kept very clean
Areas in which it might be improved:
- dementia residents are mixed with normal residents and my mother sometimes finds this depressing or stressful. For example sometimes residents with dementia will come into her room and refuse to leave. So she tries to keep her room locked a lot of the time, which is a shame.
- the food is okay but could be improved, such as having fresh instead of frozen vegetables or offering more interesting lighter meals. Lunches are sometimes nice but dinners are often just a sandwich or baked potato.
- as resident numbers have increased the ratio of carers to residents has dropped a bit low

- the air conditioning needs improving - in the recent hot weather the rooms have been very hot

After 3 weeks in hospital recovering from a fractured femur Mum decided she would like to go for respite care. Potter House was the second care home that we viewed and as soon as we stepped inside we knew it would be the right place for mum. All the staff are very kind & helpful.

Review of Kinglea Court from Peter R (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
On arrival you get that wow feeling. To me it looked like a row of newly built cottages with an outlook of the surrounding countryside. Step inside and the feeling continues, it's the space allowed, from that for the reception area to the width of the walkways to the residences rooms and other facilities. My 96 year old mother-in-law, who mobility is now failing, but otherwise is very capable 'holidayed' here for 2 weeks whilst we, her immediate family, took a holiday ourselves.

'I've had a marvellous time'' her first words when we went to collect her. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the food is lovely, she has made new friends and although she doesn't feel she needs to be a full time resident just yet, she is quietly looking forward to future opportunities to stay. And what I find really really nice is the Kinglea Court team have invited her back once a month to have lunch with her new friends. The first date is in her diary. Kinglea Court is better than a hotel!

Mum has only been with you for a short while but I feel she has settled in really well. She had been quite isolated at home. Now she joins in a lot of the activities and making new friends. She says its like living in a five star hotel. The staff a wonderful and even with there busy schedule still find time to chat.

Review of Potter House Care Home from Pamela I (Wife of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I know of know other place where the staff gives you happy welcome and in very short time sit you down with a cup tea and a slice cake. My experience since my husband moved in had been very reassuring that he is and will be very well cared for by the well trained and passionate caring staff.his room is well equipped with all he needs. And like the rest of the care home it's spotlessly clean. The menu is changed daily and looks very appetising. My husband always clears his plate. The residence.also have access.to baskets of choc bars, biscuits, fresh fruit and many different drinks placed around the home.
The home has many activities areas and quiet areas for those who don't want to join in. The care home has lovely decor and comfy furniture. The safe garden is well set out making a lovely place to spend time to sit and reminisce with your loved one.

And above all it feels like home
