Originally from Romania, Catalin graduated as a nurse and began his career supporting and protecting children with disabilities. After moving to the UK five years ago, he continued his journey in care, progressing through leadership roles as Deputy Manager and General Manager within residential care, supporting elderly people, including those living with frailty and dementia.

Caring by nature, Catalin is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued and truly at home. He believes excellent care starts with getting to know each person as an individual, while supporting and inspiring colleagues to provide compassionate, person-centred care every day.

Outside of work, Catalin has a love of art, nature and travel. Having lived, worked and travelled extensively around the world, he has developed a genuine appreciation for different cultures, communities and the people who make them unique. After discovering Cornwall, he quickly fell in love with its beautiful surroundings, strong sense of community and, most importantly, its people. Born and raised in Cornwall, Lucy is proud to be Cornish through and through. With six years of experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant, she has developed a genuine passion for supporting older people and ensuring they receive compassionate, person-centred care. Her background also includes working for a disability charity and in property management, giving her a varied range of experience in supporting people, understanding individual needs and building positive relationships.

Lucy’s passion for working with older people has always been close to her heart, influenced in part by the special bond she shared with her grandparents. These experiences helped shape her belief that everyone deserves to feel valued, listened to and treated with kindness and respect. These values remain at the heart of her approach to care and supporting others.

As Customer Relationship Manager at Heathbrea House, Lucy is passionate about helping residents and their families feel supported, informed and reassured throughout their care journey. She understands that choosing care for yourself or a loved one can be an emotional and sometimes overwhelming decision, and takes pride in offering a friendly, approachable and understanding presence. Lucy believes in taking the time to listen and understand each family’s individual needs and provide reassurance, helping them feel confident and supported every step of the way.

With a strong belief in the importance of community, Lucy also enjoys building relationships with local people, businesses and organisations, helping to create meaningful connections and a welcoming environment where residents feel a genuine sense of belonging.

Outside of work, Lucy loves spending time with her partner, her two daughters, wider family and friends. Coming from a big family, she treasures the time she spends with her loved ones. Life at home is kept busy by her two cats and much-loved Springer Spaniel, who ensures there are plenty of walks! We are delighted to introduce Jenna Hancock, Home Administrator at Heathbrea House.

Jenna’s professional background is deeply rooted in care, education, and supporting people with additional needs. Throughout her career, she has held a variety of roles, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teacher, Phase Leader, Senior Leadership Team member, and Care and Support Worker. Over the years, Jenna has supported children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex needs, neurodivergence, and a wide range of additional support needs.

These experiences have given Jenna a strong understanding of the importance of treating every individual with dignity, compassion, patience, and respect while recognising and celebrating their unique strengths, needs, and personalities.

More recently, Jenna has worked in non-clinical NHS roles, supporting people’s health and wellbeing behind the scenes within primary healthcare settings, including both a GP surgery and a dental practice. Jenna is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents, relatives, and colleagues feel listened to, valued, and respected.

Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending time with her family and making the most of being in Cornwall. A keen rugby fan, she has now retired from playing but previously enjoyed coaching girls’ rugby teams. She also loves exploring Cornwall’s beautiful countryside and coastline and making the most of the place she is fortunate to call home.
