Whenever I visit my friend, I usually stay around 1.5-2 hours. I am always offered tea/coffee. Last week when the weather was extremely hot, we sat outside to play cards and a staff member asked if we wanted an ice cream. I feel the staff try to make guests and residents feel at home, always friendly, polite and helpful. The premises are new, but very welcoming.

Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoy your visits and feel welcomed whenever you come.

It's especially lovely to know that the small touches like being offered refreshments and even ice cream on warm days-have made a positive impression....

My friend has recently moved into Kingfisher House. The help of the manager and all the staff have made this move so much easier. Nothing is too much bother and everyone you meet always has a smile and a greeting. It is a lovely, bright and welcoming environment for the residents, family and friends. There are lots of varied activities on offer. Lovely gardens, in which to sit and walk, enjoying the peace and quiet. The residents are encouraged to be independent, within their own ability. This is very important, as it is a big step for anyone to take, having to accept that they now require this level of care.

My mum Frances has lived at Kingfisher since opening on 18/12/25. Having had a very upsetting period (for both of us) at another care home, my concern was Mum wouldn't settle here either. Here we are almost 5 months in and I cannot recommend Gwyneth and her team enough. Mum is so content and loves the environment. Not once has she asked me to take her home. The staff know us both and are genuinely interested in us.

The care home, in Dundee, is a new build. The whole place has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. I was warmly welcomed, and the staff - nurses, carers, domestic staff and activity organiser - are excellent. They all make me feel welcome, and ensure I feel that this is my home. The chef provides meals up to 5 star standard.

During visits, staff are friendly and attentive, but also are discrete and allow privacy and are not 'pushy'. The furishings are well designed and give a pleasant ambience to the building.

Overall Experience

Mum's quality of life has improved considerable since becoming a resident of Kingfisher House at the beginning of January. From the first point of contact the manager and her team have been welcoming, attentive, and understanding. Staff have developed very good relationships with mum and treat her with care and respect. Her every need is met and she gains stimulation through a range of excellent daily activities which take place in a high quality environment. Communication is very effective and any issues arising are dealt with promptly and sensitively.

Liam Forrest
Liam ForrestJob Title:Maintenance ManagerJoined: 2025
Experienced Facilities and Maintenance Manager with a multi-trade background spanning electrical, plumbing, joinery, flooring, and full property maintenance. I combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership experience across hospitality, serviced apartments, and private property operations.

My career progressed from large-scale infrastructure work with Forth Crossing Bridge Constructors to facilities leadership roles with Staycity Aparthotels and The Spires Serviced Apartments, managing preventative and reactive maintenance, compliance systems, fire safety, water hygiene, PAT testing, budgeting, and team development.

I chose to move into care home maintenance because I wanted my skills to have a more direct impact on people’s daily lives. In a care environment, maintenance is not just about buildings — it’s about safety, dignity, comfort, and creating a secure space for vulnerable residents. That responsibility aligns strongly with my values and high standards.

Naz Palson
Naz PalsonJob Title:Activity & Wellbeing ManagerJoined: 2025

Hello, I’m Nazifa — thank you for taking a moment to get to know me. I’ve always been drawn to people, their stories, and the little things that make a big difference in someone’s day.

My journey into wellbeing and activities began when I worked as a carer for four years. It was during that time that I realised how much I loved making someone’s day a little brighter — those small moments of joy and comfort that mean so much.

More recently, I’ve worked with Home Start, first attending a nurture group for mums facing mental health and well-being challenges, and later becoming a peer supporter myself. In this role, I helped others by sharing mindfulness techniques through movement and creativity. I cherished the opportunity to support, listen, and walk beside others. The experience taught me a great deal and strengthened my commitment and passion for supporting people’s wellbeing in meaningful ways through creativity and connections.

Creativity is also an important part of my life; I hold a Master of Arts in Spatial Design. For me, creativity isn’t just about design, but about how spaces, experiences, and relationships help people feel stronger and more uplifted.

When I discovered this new opportunity, I felt genuinely excited about the meaningful moments I could share with residents. I truly believe every person’s story is valuable, and I look forward to bringing my care background, creativity, and sense of community into making each day here memorable and special.
