My mum had been at Lindisfarne in Throckley since May 2022. My experience has been very positive.
Her room was always warm and comfortable, tidy and clean. I found the staff friendly and approachable. I can not fault the care she received. As my mum became palliative the staff could not do enough,
providing the right equipment to keep her comfortable and providing advice and support.
An excellent care home. Thank you for all the care my mum received.

Although it was an upsetting and stressful time, I have absolutely no regrets in choosing Lindisfarne Care Home. After reading reviews I was a little trepidatious. However, after my Mother spent 4 weeks there needing intensive end of life support, I have nothing but excellent feedback to give.
The
Care Home is warm, clean and very well run. My mother's room, on the ground floor, was pleasant, nicely decorated and adequately furnished. All staff throughout the home from cleaners to nurses, were extremely attentive, caring and responsive to my Mother's needs. The nurses in particular were exceptional and regularly checked on my Mother, providing me with numerous updates regarding her condition. This was in addition to face to face updates which I received on each of my visits.
Overall I cannot fault the quality of care Lindisfarne provided throughout the last 4 weeks of her life. I hope this review puts at ease those having to make such a difficult decision.

My wife has been at this home since August 5th 2022. My experience has been a totally negative one
Broken furniture, heating, and dirty patched walls in my wife's room. One room she stayed in had a non-working toilet. non-working extractor fan including no window in the toilet washroom. Large boxes
of
nappy supplies and medical supplies piled up in her room and toilet washroom. Used cardboard urine
bottles left smelling for days. I regularly had to empty my wife's urine bottle to which she was attached. For many days running there was no signing in book (which I assume is against fire regulations). My wife's room had no heating for three days in winter. Poor or no response to the emergency buzzer. I would not allow my wife to stay there if I had an alternative.

My mother fell and broke her hip Dec 2016 aged 89. She had other medical conditions including dementia. Upon first visiting (unannounced) Lindisfarne we were struck by how friendly and enthusiastic everyone we met was. The building is spacious and felt welcoming. She stayed there from Feb 2017 until
she passed away peacefully Dec 2017.

The whole family was very very pleased with the nursing and care provided. Every single member of staff is deserving of praise for the way they collectively looked after our mother. They helped her to settle in and at all times she was kept comfortable and clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the team they were amazing and we cannot thank them enough. She had a nice bright room of her own with ensuite but every day they took her to the resident's lounge to be amongst other people even though she had no mobility of her own. The resident's lounge that she was in on the ground floor is bright, spacious and calm.

My Mum was in Lindisfarne since February 2015 until her recent death. I cannot find any fault with the care she has received. The staff are so caring, supportive and professional. They look on residents as family and are friendly and supportive to all family and visitors. During Mum's last few days,
they couldn't do enough for us and welcomed our coming and going at all times of the day and night. An excellent care home which I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone looking for care for family.
