A caring, loving home of a very high standard. Amazing staff who are excellent and really do care.
Every aspect of this home is very good from the care, cleanliness, the food to the care of residents' laundry.

Daily activities are inclusive of all residents. Amazing home. Well done.

Mum was a resident at Ashcroft for around 3 years, until she passed away in October. We couldn't have wished for better care for her. Mum had many complex needs, which were taken care of wonderfully. The staff are all amazing, warm, friendly and professional. After such a long time, they felt like family. When Mum passed, very recently, the staff were there for me every step of the way making sure I was OK, had drinks etc as well as making sure Mum was as comfortable as possible in her last days and hours. The support I received after she passed was fantastic. I have nothing but praise for each and every one of them. We really could not have chosen a better place for her.

My father stayed at Ashcroft for 6 months until he passed away in June.
During his stay he was treated with the best care and support I could have wished for. It has a real family feel.
He was encouraged to engage in activities most days. The food was top-class.

I was included in decisions made for him and the whole staff team also cared for me. I can't thank everyone enough for giving Dad fantastic care and dignity in his last days.

Overall Experience
Mum has multiple medical problems and the staff and management at Ashcroft have worked hard to put into place just what Mum needs. They have been willing to learn from our experiences of caring for Mum prior to entering the home and they keep us informed, always having time to chat whether there are concerns or not.
Not only that, they have helped us through our emotional transition and continually put our minds at rest.
The staff care for us when we visit and it really is a 'new home' for Mum. It is always a friendly atmosphere.
Renovations are underway and every consideration is being made to care for the residents during this time of change.

On our first visit to Ashcroft, we knew it was the place for Mum and we are continually reminded of that decision every day. Can't thank the staff enough for all their hard work and the standard of gentle care for Mum.

Overall Experience

Dad moved to Ashcroft in Sept 2023 after a year of lengthy hospital stays. He is in the later stages of dementia. He is now thriving. From day 1 staff have been outstanding. He is always clean, shaven and appropriately dressed. He takes his meds in a timely manner, moves regularly and joins other residents in the communal lounge & social events (he has a photo diary charting all the events he takes part in &a helps him to recall them & talk to us about them). His meals are hearty and nutritious. His en-suite room is modern and furnished with everything Dad needs to live life safely. All staff without exception are proactive, kind and compassionate. They make it a very positive experience for all of Dad's visitors too, particularly Mum, a detail that cannot be underestimated. Dad tells me the best things about Ashcroft are the staff and the fact that they have an in-house pub just a few doors down from his room! Outstanding establishment & we are truly grateful. Thank you.

My mum moved to Ashcroft a week ago. Very upsetting for us both as we never thought it would come to this. However, what fantastic, caring staff who go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble (and I know they must think, oh it's not her again). They have never made me feel I am being a nuisance and I already know they love her, as I do. This is not a job to these people, it really is a vocation. I have looked after Mum 24/7 for the last four years now I can relax and enjoy my life knowing she is safe.

My mum moved to Ashcroft Care Home in Dec 21 on a palliative care plan, she rallied and settled in quite nicely to Ashcroft. The staff were always very good with her (she was not mobile) and she said she was well looked after when I asked her. Mum wasn't a social person and they never pushed her to join in but respected her wish to mainly stay in her room. Sadly mum relapsed in July this year and passed away peacefully in August. I was so worried about her going into a care home but I have to say both my brother and I were very happy with her treatment. Thank you to all the staff.

Our mum came to live at Ashcroft in March 2022. She has been treated with the greatest care and respect by all of the lovely staff. We couldn't ask for more, and on the 2nd of June, Mum and her family were treated to a fabulous Jubille party generously put on by the staff. Great food and entertainment were enjoyed by all. Well done to all involved.

I used to work in the NHS looking after the elderly, mentally ill and this home is so different to where I've had connections to before. It's so good I've asked if I can book my room for when I may need it. It has a totally different feel to any other place I have been in.
