My parent has been extremely well cared for over recent years in Forbes House. Each member of staff, from all departments, makes every effort to provide professional care and to treat all residents with respect and dignity. My parent feels at home, safe and secure, and considers the staff and management
to be her friends. It is good to witness that residents' needs, although complex and varied, are top priority at Forbes House. The care industry has gone, and is going through many challenges, solutions are not always immediately available, but during difficult times, my parent has received the best of care, kindness and attention.

As a daughter, my dad's decline is sad to watch, but we know he is in good hands with the staff at Forbes House. My dad has been there for a few years now, and they know him so well. I would like to take this time to praise and thank one special carer who looks after my dad. She is so patient with him,
regardless of his moods or temperament. We had a difficult and upsetting visit with him last night, but she was there for both my sister and I and remained calm, kind and compassionate towards him. How she kept composed is beyond me, and she deserves full credit, as I assure you it was an extremely challenging situation. So this is my opportunity to give thanks when it is due and express my gratitude to his carer. Thank you for everything you do for my dad.

Thank you for your kind words spoken at such a difficult time for you and your family. Staff were very fond of your dad, as they were of you all, as such a loving family. Your kind words mean an awful lot to the staff, and it has been our pleasure to take care of your Dad. With our very best wishes.

I just wanted to submit a review to acknowledge how friendly and caring all the staff are. There are a few of the carers who have an extremely caring relationship with my parent and that gives me comfort that my parent is being looked after. The care my parent receives is to a good standard, especially
since they can be difficult to manage at times. The work that has been carried out under the new management is excellent.

My mum is very difficult to please, and can be negative about most things.
In my opinion, my mum is being well looked after, and the staff interact with her when they can.
If I do need to raise any issues, there is always someone I can discuss this with and is generally resolved there and then, or
by my next visit.

Since an outbreak of a bug two weeks before and then lockdown due to Coronavirus, Heathfield House has been closed to relatives. This, in my opinion, has helped the home so far keep the residents within the home safe. I feel due to the current virus the home and staff have done a marvellous job, they
have put on some activities to include the residents for all relatives to feel close to and actually see how well and happy their relatives are within the lockdown.
My mother has been in here for six years now and the love from the staff for my mum is wonderful. Yes, there have been times I have wanted to take her home but this has been because of my missing her but if the truth be known, I could not manage my mother's dementia now. I am able to live my life because I know she is safe and cared for 24 hours a day. I cannot wait to be able to hug Mum but just now I am able to speak to her on messenger and this is such an uplift to me.
Everyday heroes all staff, thank you all.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.167)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.167) out of 10 for Forbes House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.542 for Forbes House is calculated as follows: ( (30 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.542
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Forbes House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 16 = 0.25
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
