I was in visiting my brother John on the 9th JULY and I can honestly say it was the first time
I years I have come home happy. My brother has been in Ardencraig for a good number of years
and can think of no other place that he would be cared for as well. The staff speak highly of him.
Jacki(john) was in good form. Going for his walks about. His room was very clean as was he.
The last time this was not so. I feel that things have changed tremendously.
The staff in the day room were very helpful telling me about Jackie. The two woman were very nice, Natalia I think one of them was called. Sorry I cannot remember the younger one was called. Thanks to them both.
Haley was in charge of the unit that night. Haley spoke also spoke highly of Jackie. Telling us he still goes on outing etc. sings in the karaoke. He loves singing. Haley came across as a very capable

young woman. A big thanks to all.

Reply from Martin Ure, Home Manager at Ardencraig Care Home

My friend is not easy to support due to personality and mental debility, but staff are so very patient and kind. I am amazed at how well they engage.

My friend is always clean and nicely dressed, and even when he is in a difficult mood, they exercise tolerance and good humour. The home is very clean, and the staff seem to work as a team. Food looks like hotel standard and is nicely served. There are always activities to which my friend is invited. My review is based on observation of level one of the home.

My mother has only been a resident for a short time, the staff have consistently shown her kindness and nothing seems to be a bother, the home is always clean and welcoming as is her nice spacious room which myself and my family are grateful for. One thing I know my mother is grateful for although she can't express it is the effort that's put into the themed days - from St Patrick's day to easter these events bring so much joy into the home.

It is always a degree of trepidation and doubt that you find yourself having to put a parent into a care home. Dad moved there in January of this year and from day 1 our fears and doubts were put to rest. The care home staff have been brilliant and Dad settled in well apart from his usual but very normal grumbling. The care and attention they pay to give my dad peace of mind and comfort is amazing. Helping him with his stability, and assistance at meal times. Maybe you shouldn't mention names but I will: Anne, Chevonne, Janis, Dionne and others great and would recommend Deanston to anyone.

We are very happy with the care that my mum receives. Staff are always happy to help and engage with my mum and us. Room is kept clean however not happy with the storage of pads which are kept in her wardrobe and at the bottom of her bed, her bedroom is not a storage room.

Review of Deanston Care Home from Liz W (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 October 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Our mum was a resident for 3 years in Deanston care home. As mum entered the end stages of her journey with Alzheimer's disease, we received a call to say mum had taken ill, paramedics on site, then mum received the last rights as we thought she would pass away that day, mum lasted 10 nights/11 days.
Myself, sister, brother and other members of our family took turns at staying overnight and the care extended to us was so thoughtful and really made a difference.
For us we knew this would be where our mum would pass away, mums wishes and every aspect of those final days and moments were managed so carefully and respectfully. Everything was peaceful and we got to spend as much time together as we needed.
Every single member of staff, could not have been more kind, caring, compassionate and inclusive. I cannot thank or praise every member of this incredible team enough.

Except the MANAGER who never communicated with us before, during or after mums passing. Formal complaint upheld.

Review of Netherton Court Care Home from W E (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Mum spent the last months of her life in this home. I have been so grateful for the treatment she was given. Staff are excellent. They create a family atmosphere and go beyond to ensure the happiness of residents. My Mum was safe and well looked after. The emotional reaction of staff members when she passed was incredibly touching. We were supported too especially in the last few days of Mum's life. Nursing home fees are expensive but, in our case, worth every penny paid.

Reply from Hester Saarberg, Care Home Manager at Netherton Court Care Home

Thank you so much for your kind review. She was such a presents in the home and she is very much missed by the staff that work in the Hillis unit. But also the loss of the family is a thing we will never get used to. As always I will share your review with the staff, they will very much appreciate your kind words.

Review of Atlantic View Care Home from F P (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 September 2025 Submitted via Website

Mum moved in to Atlantic View in May 25 and within a few days she was very happy and settled. She amazed us all by how relaxed she became.
The warmth and care from the staff towards her is wonderful. This is not just the fantastic carers, nurses and entertainment staff, but also the welcoming receptionists, kitchen staff, laundry/cleaning staff, maintenance staff and managers. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and the environment is one where the wellbeing of the residents is paramount.
The decor and layout of this care home is amazing. There are 4 floors, each with their own communal room and dining area overlooking the Firth of Clyde to Arran. It is cheerful, bright and airy.

In short, this is what care should be and I am so relieved and pleased that Mum has the opportunity to enjoy each day as it comes in such a warm and caring new "home".

Review of Atlantic View Care Home from A M (Friend of Resident) published on 16 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My friend realised that she required more care than she could have in her own home. Her family visited several local care homes on her behalf and decided that they thought that Atlantic View could provide the care that she required. They were very impressed with all aspects of their visit. The manager of the care home visited my friend at home to meet her and her family and determine whether they could meet my friend's needs.
My friend found this reassuring but still entered Atlantic View care home with some trepidation.
However, it has been remarkable how quickly she has settled. She loves her room, the staff and feeling cared for. In fact, she told me should would never go home as this was where she wanted to live!
As a visitor, I have nothing but praise for Atlantic View. The all round standards are very high and I am made to feel most welcome and encouraged to join in any events.

The staff are first class and so welcoming. Nothing is too much bother.
