My mother has only been a resident for a short time, the staff have consistently shown her kindness and nothing seems to be a bother, the home is always clean and welcoming as is her nice spacious room which myself and my family are grateful for. One thing I know my mother is grateful for although she can't express it is the effort that's put into the themed days - from St Patrick's day to easter these events bring so much joy into the home.

We are very happy with the care that my mum receives. Staff are always happy to help and engage with my mum and us. Room is kept clean however not happy with the storage of pads which are kept in her wardrobe and at the bottom of her bed, her bedroom is not a storage room.

Reply from Lorraine Foster, Home Manager at Burlington Court Care Home

HI , we appreciate your feedback. Storage of Continence Aids are in bedrooms as they are prescribed for residents individually. We will however remove some of the boxes at the bottom of the bed and monitor when more are required.

My ninety five year old mother has been resident for over a year now and has received excellent care throughout. The caregivers are attentive and exceptionally kind. There is a constant supply of tea and biscuits and my mother continues to enjoy this along with her meals. Activities are provided regularly and she laughed throughout the recent pantomime.

My mother was admitted to the home for intermediate care in March 2024 following a stay in hospital. I left the word care out as I had never seen any care administered. She had been there for 3 days when we discovered she had a broken wrist. We all know accidents happen but it's unforgivable that for over 48hrs not one staff member noticed this. I am guessing no personal care was given over that period as if it had they would have seen this injury as it would have been very hard to miss. As bad as the wrist incident was it was the drugs given to her to keep her docile and compliant and in a drugged haze that were actually making her worse.

My 84-year-old mother after 3wks escaped, had managed to make her way home to her own house in Shawlands. Nobody knew she was gone until I had contacted them. We decided she was not returning as she had suffered enough. She is now settled, happy and thriving in a dementia care centre in the Gorbals.
