As well as being well designed, beautifully decorated and very homely, it also hosts a wonderful team of warm, caring, professional staff who respond promptly to any need or questions you would like addressing
All of the staff are truly amazing, but there are several stand out for their knowledge, compassion and compassionate - you never feel bad or that you are keeping them from other more important work. A big thank you to Maddie and Rhonna highly compassionate nurses, as well as Carmen the night nurse.
Finally, I would like to commend Claire the Home manager who does a tremendous job of running such a marvellous care home as well as being warm and available to clients - taking time to speak. My observations are that she is also very available to her Staff team - who all speak highly other.

20/20 from me!!!

My Father was a resident for the last eight months of his life. He was contented living in Cedar Lodge and enjoyed his interactions with the staff and other residents. My brother and I were always greeted warmly and nothing was too much trouble. His room was comfortable and spacious.
Dad enjoyed the meals in the dining room and the activities in the garden room with Suzy. He loved when Julie waved from outside his window in the mornings. Jerry was great at lifting the mood with a storey or a laugh. Dad was treated with kindness, consideration and respect. His nursing needs were met promptly and good decisions made in emergencies.

Our thanks to the staff, with special mention of Jerry, Julie, Carmen, Wmila, Rhoda and Jenny who facilitated my calls to Dad from afar.

Although my father was only a resident for 8 months prior to his death, he clearly was happy and grew very fond of the staff as they did of him. This was no mean feat due to his frailty, combined with his alert mind, dry humour and expectation of high standards! At all levels, from the nurses, carers, entertainer, receptionists, chefs, laundry lady, administrators, a high degree of professional but also warm and friendly care was evident. Everyone rallied around to ensure he was given maximum support, especially during difficult times when this was needed - for which I remain eternally grateful.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review. The team loved your father and were honoured to support and care for him. We are so sorry for your loss, when a parent passes, our world changes forever. The team felt his loss as well, as your father was such a character and an important member of Cedar Lodge. We will share this with the team. Many thanks S

I visited my aunt at Cedar Lodge over Christmas and what a lovely place. It is a beautiful house and has a real warmth to it that can only come from the kindness of the wonderful staff. It sounds like there's always some kind of activity going on which keeps my aunt occupied and engaged, rather than mouldering in front of the tv, and she is really looking forward to the summer months when she can get out into the garden with the gardening club as she was always garden proud. She has a really lovely room and it's such a pleasure to see that just because someone is getting older and needs more help, that they are really cared for, cared about, can still have a social life - and she loves that that she can still have a drink with dinner. I'll be lucky if my kids put me somewhere this nice.

Very pleased that we found this care home for mum. The property is modern and fitted to a high standard and the staff are efficient and friendly.
The range of different experiences available for the residents, and visitors (!) is broad and presented in an informal but effective manner by the entertainments lady Suzy.

All in all mum and we are very pleased with our choice.

I have been volunteering at Cedar Lodge with Benji the Therapy Dog for the last 4 months. The team are so accommodating and the care they provide is first rate. The residents are always complimentary and telling me what fun they've been up to.

Seeing the home grow over my time volunteering has been impressive and I hope the home can continue to grow in the future the way it has already.

We recently traveled from the US to visit my wife's beloved mother at Cedar Lodge and were immediately delighted with the quality of the facility, staff and warm, welcoming environment. The staff, including Lisa, made us feel so comfortable enabling us to savor the experience of spending precious time with my mother-in-law.
When we drove up to Cedar Lodge for the first time earlier this month, our seven-year old granddaughter gazed at the facade with wonder, saying "I didn't know that great-grandma was living in a castle". Those sweet words from a child brought a smile to everyone.
Please let me express my deepest gratitude to Cedar Lodge and the staff with the knowledge that an ocean away we can be supremely confident that great-grandma is being well looked after while enjoying her lovely new home and all it has to offer.

Respectfully,

With the swift support of the Palliative Care team at the Hospital and the Customer Focus Lead at Cedar Lodge, my 90-year-old father was moved there for his final couple of days as an end of life patient.
We were so fortunate that he was in such a dignified and peaceful setting and was treated so kindly and well by his nurses and the whole team, led by the home manager.
As his family, we were also made to feel very comfortable and cared for, being nurtured throughout the days. The staff were sensitive, but also able to bring some light relief at a time when we needed it the most.
Putting a butterfly on my father's door was a very thoughtful touch which inspired us to choose an urn with the same motif when he was cremated. The ceremony of opening the window and letting out his spirit will always stay with us and for how he was looked after throughout his stay.

We will always be grateful for everything Cedar Lodge did for my father and us.

My father moved into Cedar Lodge in Sept 2025 when he was longer able to live alone.
I can not express how happy we were with the care provided there. It is a beautiful facility, the nearest thing you can get to a hotel. The staff were all amazing. Always available to talk to if you had any concerns. My father had advanced dementia and towards the end of his life he didn't want to eat. The staff had a special way of encouraging him to take "one more bite" The cook would also specially prepare something special to try and encourage him to eat. The meals were excellent, restaurant worthy, as was the dining room.
My dads room was always clean and we were able to add small pieces of furniture from home to make it more personal.
As visitors, we were made so welcome, always being asked if we needed anything.
When my dad passed away, the staff were wonderful, making it so much easier for us.

I thoroughly recommend Cedar Lodge for taking care of your loved one.

My father moved to Cedar Lodge when he was no longer able to manage with care at home. The level of care and kindness from all the staff was outstanding. He was encouraged to participate where he could and staff spent lots of time getting to know him and it always felt like a very caring and friendly environment.

Sadly his health deteriorated after a few months but his care was adapted to his needs and everything possible was done proactively to keep him comfortable and the last few months of his life were as comfortable as we could have wished for. It was always a pleasure to visit dad at Cedars in such a nice modern and clean environment with lovely staff which I will miss.

My sister was in palliative care at Cedar Lodge. It is completely rennovated, and as such, provides a lovely place for those in care. The garden room and all other spaces are clean, bright and well-maintanined for all to enjoy. Snacks, tea and coffee are readily available for visitors. The food is nutrious, and well prepared. Excellent cakes are baked fresh each day, adding to the home-like appeal.
The staff at Cedar Lodge are very good, providing not just medical care, but also care for the souls in their charge. They go out of their way to give individualized attention and the difference is evident.

With appreciation.

Cedar Lodge is a special place and we instantly knew that this was the best place for our dad.
He has not been an 'easy' resident but has always been treated with respect and kindness.
Many staff go above and beyond their job specification and you genuinely feel that they truly care for dad.
Communication to the family from the staff is excellent and any minor issues are dealt with quickly.

My father spent 10 days of respite care at Cedar Lodge over the Christmas period - he received excellent care throughout his stay and was very happy staying there. The staff were all extremely kind and caring towards my father and they all work so hard. Cedar Lodge is a very comfortable and well designed care home which offers many up-to-date facilities. My mother spent the last six weeks of her life at Cedar Lodge and it was a comfort to know she was well cared for and very comfortable during a very difficult time for her and her family. The staff all went out of their way to tailor to her individual needs. She had a lovely room with a peaceful view of the beautiful garden and for someone who has always loved her garden and the outdoors this provided a literal window to the outside world. The visitors kitchen provided a relaxing space, offering complimentary refreshments, which was very welcome, particularly if arriving stressed straight from work. The staff were all extremely kind and hard working and always tried to accommodate any requests, including sourcing and making her green jelly which she had developed a penchant for. The facilities are very clean and brand new with a high spec finish. I am glad my mother had such a peaceful environment to spend her last chapter in and am forever grateful for the care she received.
