Excellent residential home for my wife since her admission 3 months ago. We had chosen Clarendon Lodge first of all for its cleanliness and secondly for the whole layout, all on one level. The whole building is light and bright with all bedrooms opening onto the large well maintained garden. Large reception area with coffee machine is a welcoming place to meet and speak with other residents and their family. Various and numerous lounges for activities but also to have private family visits. Various activities are on most days and occasionally outings which relatives may join in too, plenty of fun to had in and out of the home. Monitoring of health conditions is carried out on a constant basis. Lastly and most importantly, the staff. Each and everyone of them are the best. Friendly and caring in every way. Whether helping with personal care or accompanying to meals etc they give 100% of their attention and dedication. Once again, the best!
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your experience at Clarendon Lodge. We are delighted to hear that your wife is settling well into the home and that you have found our environment welcoming, bright and comfortable. It is especially rewarding...
We have had excellent care from the maintenance team to the management team. The carers who assist mum in her daily activities are incredibly caring and thoughtful. The whole team at the home have supported both my mother and the family through this.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you and your mother have had such a positive experience with our home. It is particularly rewarding to know that our maintenance team, care team and wider staff have made a difference during what can be...
Lovely place for my grandmother. Brilliant facilities + very welcome. Enjoyed the family morning - delicious cakes!
Thank you for your kind words. We will be sure to pass this message onto the rest of the team :)
My sister and I visited Clarendon Lodge at very short notice in order to view the home. We found it to be clean, tidy and with a well maintained garden and grounds. As a room was available, my sister moved in on April 7th 2026 and very much enjoyed a canal boat trip that same week. Sadly, she died from cancer on April 27th 2026 but very much enjoyed her brief stay. For myself, I have been very impressed by the friedly, caring attitude displayed by all staff. I have cleared the room today and experienced only sympathy from the staff. Above excellent.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was a pleasure looking after your Sister here at Clarendon Lodge, she is truly missed. We pride ourselves in making a real difference to the lives of our residents and creating a great place to live. We will ensure this positive feedback is passed to the rest of the team.
Clarendon Lodge is an excellent care home. From my first visit to the welcoming and beautifully presented Reception it was clear that this was a very well run home. My husband who suffers from vascular dementia and has other problems originally came for respite breaks, but is now a permanent resident. He is not the easiest person to have to deal with and wants to do everything in his own sweet time, which is challenging for meal times, arranged activities and medical appointments etc! The staff have a wonderful manner and genuine care for him and indeed all the residents. The home and rooms are kept spotlessly clean with a very efficient laundry collection. Catering is of a good standard and residents are able to make their daily meal choices. There is a varied programme of morning and afternoon activities, as well as interesting trips out in the minibus. Thoroughly recommended - well done team Clarendon!
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a lovely review, I will ensure that the team receive the positive feedback. I'm pleased to hear you would recommend our home and it's been a pleasure getting to know you both.
We knew we had found the best place for him when he said that he hoped he would be allowed to stay as he was so settled.
Six months later and we are still completely convinced that he is receiving the best care. The support extends to the rest of the family and we have been welcomed into the various activities organised for the residents. All the staff have taken time to get to know Dad and that reassures us that if one of the family members cannot get to see him, he is in a place where people will have time to chat and interact with him.
Definitely a hidden gem and one I would heartily recommend to anyone looking for care for their loved one.
Thank you for your kind words, we will be sure to pass this lovely feedback onto the team. It is a pleasure looking after dad and im glad he has settled so well in our home.
Clarendon Lodge has continued to provide good quality care to my friend, who suffers from dementia, and has been a resident for over a year now. All the staff, irrespective of their position or role with in the care home engage readily and appropriately with residents. There are regular activities and events organised at the home for residents every week as well enabling residents to be able to participate in events in the local community, for example the Christmas Fair at the local church and Croxley Revels.
Thank you for your positive feedback, I will be sure to pass this onto the team.
Six months ago my father arrived at Clarendon Lodge for 2 weeks respite after a hospital stay, and felt so happy and safe he decided to stay. There are not enough superlatives to describe how we all feel about CL. Staff go above and beyond and are so kind and helpful. The building is spotless with no smells. It's bright and welcoming and was purpose built about 3 years ago. It's all on one level, with wide corridors and several lounges. The en-suite bedrooms are modern and comfortable. There is a beautiful, accessible garden with seating areas and a safe path. Also, twice daily activities, and trips out in the minibus. Yesterday evening they went for a drive into London to see the Christmas lights, and that was after a pub lunch! At 97 I'm astounded how much my father is still achieving, thanks to the lovely staff. We are so grateful for the peace of mind, knowing dad is so well cared for and happy. 5 stars plus.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. Your kind words are appreciated, and we will make sure to share them with the team.
During this time the staff have all shown real care towards her. They will always greet her by name and will stop for conversation, accompany her where she wants to go, help her if she's confused and try to cheer her if she is sad.
I cannot fault their genuine care for all the residents.
The home and all the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, with daily clothes washing and ironing.
Facilities are good and comfortable. The activities organiser is inventive and works very hard to involve the residents in a variety of events and activities.
The managers at the home will always find time to talk to relatives and of course residents.
I think my friend had been fortunate to find this small, friendly and caring home.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a lovely review of Clarendon Lodge. Our team are committed to delivering the highest quality care to our residents and their families, and I will be sure to share the positive feedback with them.
We are very happy with the care my mother in law is receiving at Clarendon Lodge. All the staff are fantastic from the carers, managers, reception and cleaners to catering. All going the extra mile and having a chat while they do it. What is really lovely is that it is the same, permanent, staff working there so they get to know the residents well. Any problems, like illness etc is dealt with promptly and professionally, residents being reviewed by the GP when needed and also a weekly visit from GP staff to review anyone requiring this. It is clean, warm and welcoming and a pleasure to visit.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We pride ourselves in making a real difference to the lives of our residents and creating a great place to live. We will ensure this positive feedback is passed to the rest of the team.
The staff are attentive, the property is very clean and well designed for wheelchair-bound residents.
Walking through the door, I was very impressed with the communal areas and the courtyard garden.
There are regular social events which residents and their visitors are encouraged to join in with.
Thank you for the lovely review. I will be sure to pass this feedback onto the team.
All involved go the extra mile, and I'd thoroughly recommend Clarendon Lodge to anyone.
Thank you for your kind words. We strive to provide a high standard of care and support to not only our residents but to our relatives too and will ensure this feedback is passed to the rest of the team.
Clarendon Lodge is excellent. We arranged to view the home when my mother was in hospital because we were concerned that she could no longer safely look after herself at home. From day one we have been impressed. They acted really quickly, meeting Mum while she was still in hospital and then having a lovely room ready for her on discharge. The home is modern, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The staff are wonderful, are clearly well trained and really care, going above and beyond to help Mum settle and meet her needs and that is all the staff - managers, carers, activities, reception, kitchen, laundry, maintenance and cleaning. Mum has been there two months now and, honestly, the staff just seem like good friends. Visiting is 24/7 and so I can call in and spend quality time without all of the worries when she was in her own house. It is really comforting to know that a representative from the GP surgery visits every week and all mum's care needs are taken care of.
Thank you for the lovely review. I will share this with the team. Mum is settling in well and its been a pleasure getting to know you both.
I tried to cope but was unable to and after many discussions with family members, social workers, and other care professionals we decided that the only course of action was to place my wife into a care home. As we live in Croxley, a most convenient one we considered was Clarendon Lodge. I recently arranged to meet a rep there who took me and one of my sons on a tour of the property and we came away very impressed. Only recently built, it has modern facilities all at ground level with each room opening out to a safely accessed garden patio.
There are daily activities and all meals are cooked with fresh ingredients.
Highly recommended.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm pleased to hear you would recommend our home and it's a pleasure having your wife living with us.
We were very happy with the quality of care provided to our mother and the genuine affection displayed by the staff. Mum enjoyed the eighteen months she lived at Clarendon Lodge.
Thank you for your kind review, it's nice to hear positive feedback about the care Mum received whilst at Clarendon Lodge. I will be sure to feed this back to the team.
Clarendon Lodge went above and beyond to make my nans birthday special. They not only decorated her room, they surprised her with songs, a cake and a present. It was overwhelming to see the effort they put in to make sure our loved one was celebrated, as they should be, on their special day. Makes me feel better the residents are being looked after as if they were family by the staff. Providing comfort in an already difficult time.
Thank you for the lovely review, I'm glad Nan was made to feel special by the staff team. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon celebrating her birthday.
Depends on who - staff are mostly very good. Agency staff unsure.
I have been visiting my friend, who has dementia, since she went to Clarendon Lodge Care Home in May 2021. She spent much of the last year in bed. Now a new "acting manager" has been appointed and together with the "weekday receptionist" she is sitting in a wonderful chair in the "dementia lounge". Thanks to these two wonderful people the home is alive and buzzing. All the staff are very kind and gentle to my friend. I really hope that these two staff are here for a very long time. I haven't completed the second half of the ratings because I have no knowledge of them.
The facilities are excellent, beyond comparison, and the staff are all so helpful, caring and attentive. The food has been a treat, hotel quality from the meals I have seen. The outlook onto the garden from the rooms is uplifting.
I couldn't recommend this facility enough, and wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
Only negative is internet access which needs to be addressed.
