We understand how unsettling it can be when a loved one with dementia moves into a new environment and are sorry for any distress caused. Your mother's wellbeing is always our priority, and emergency services are only contacted when necessary. Paramedics make an independent clinical assessment and will only transfer someone to hospital if they believe it is needed for their health and safety. We appreciate your concerns about communication and will review our processes to ensure clearer, more timely updates in future.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the standard of food she received, any issues that were brought to us were resolved quickly and alternatives offered. Your father is a popular long-term resident who isn’t letting his age slow him down, and we aim to keep him this way for as long as possible. We provide your father with the best possible appropriate care and support that he needs, and long may this continue.

We always aim to provide a warm and caring environment for our residents, trying to tend to their specific needs and allowing them to feel at home as quickly as possible so they may settle quickly. It’s always reaffirming to have this confirmed via relatives, so thank you. We strive to get the care and attention each resident needs finely tuned and we hope your father-in-law continues to flourish with us for a long time to come.
We noted your review and spoke with our staff who all recalled your aggressive manner in person and on the phone. Uncle came for respite and improved during his stay, he began walking again, began using our downstairs lounge but he was frail and chose not to have visitors/calls daily. On his birthday you began calling at 9.30 despite we ask calls be after 10.30 to allow for morning routines. Uncle declined to come down from his room where he was enjoying cards and presents for your call. You refused to call our mobile/speaker and continued to call the home all morning. You had pushback from our admin team to protect our staff from your aggressive language, as no one has to tolerate this from you. Ours is a peaceful care home, with the normal routines and care required to take the best care of all our residents. All our staff are valued and respected, good at their jobs and should not have to tolerate this behaviour from you in the mercifully short time you engaged with us.

Thank you for complimenting the standard of care by the care staff and the cleaning staff, who continue to work so hard. We would like to encourage the families to come forward to be able to discuss any issues further on a one to one basis, which gives us an opportunity to be able to review our services.
