This new residential care home is promising a bright future for Worksop people. Its decor, layout, lovely spacious rooms (with en suites) and approachability of caring staff is what led to its choice for my mother. New activities for residents to get involved with are being added each month, such
as inter-generational music with toddler/baby sessions, dog therapy, crafts, special events on the calendar (Valentines Day afternoon tea, Mother's Day lunch with families) and there will be more to come. Family and friends are welcomed whenever they choose to visit. Living further away it is good to know that my mother is in a safe place where she can rely on staff to support her in a friendly atmosphere and my siblings living nearby love going there. Having taken part in a couple of the activities when visiting and chatting to other residents I would be volunteering if I lived closer!

We're delighted to hear that the home's environment, facilities, and welcoming atmosphere helped you feel confident in choosing us for your mother's care. It means a great deal to our team that you've highlighted the friendliness and approachability of our staff, as well as the comfort and space of the rooms.
It's especially lovely to hear how much you value the range of activities on offer. We're passionate about creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents, and it's great to know that initiatives like the inter-generational sessions, therapy visits, and special events have made a positive impression on you and your family.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback, it truly motivates our team.

Mum, 94, moved into Gateford Lodge mid December. I'd made a visit beforehand to see what facilities they offered and if it would be suitable for Mum's needs. It's proven to be a perfect choice.
The home is 5* and so are the staff. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. Mum gets regular visits
from a District Nurse arranged by the home and her medication is given promptly each day. She's recently had an optician visit to choose new specs.
The home is beautifully decorated with spacious ensuite bedrooms with TV. There're activities/entertainment most days, a fab dining room serving great food, a hair salon with nail bar, TV lounge or a quieter garden room to chill out.
Residents can socialise and still feel independent and most importantly, secure. Thank you to all staff. I highly recommend Gateford Lodge Care Home.

We are so pleased to hear that your mum has settled in well since moving in and that you feel it has been the right choice for her. It is wonderful to know that you are happy with the facilities, care and support she receives, and that our team have been able to help make her feel comfortable, safe and well looked after.
We really appreciate your kind comments about our colleagues. They work incredibly hard to ensure every resident receives attentive, person-centred care, and it is especially nice to hear that this is making such a positive difference to your mum's experience.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your mum's care.

This is a new, purpose built Carehome and the environment is bright and very inviting. It feels like stepping into a luxury hotel.
Since moving to Gateford Lodge my mother has settled in very nicely and has been eating well and clearly enjoying her meals, which are freshly cooked on the premises.
These are served in a beautifully decorated dining room with tablecloths and napkins and even a glass of wine is offered.
The staff at Gateford lodge are so caring and give the residents their undivided attention.
The place is immaculate and the surroundings are beautiful. There is a hair salon, activities room , a tv lounge and a quiet area. I am looking forward to taking my mother out into the garden in the warmer months.
I have visited a lot of Carehomes in the local area and in my opinion Gateford Lodge is superior in every way. This is how all care homes should be.

The team at Gateford Lodge have been so helpful and welcoming, right from the initial phone call enquiry. Mum, who is 92 and has dementia, had started having falls, and although she was having care at home, she had socially withdrawn and was beginning to physically and mentally struggle. It was clear
that mum was no longer safe at home, but she was so fearful and resistant to even the thought of going into a care home. It was a difficult conversation but with some persuasion my sister and I took her along for a taster day. We all instantly loved everything about the place. The next week mum agreed to 4 weeks' respite care which has just come to an end. Now she has asked to stay on as a permanent resident; she is happy and says she doesn't want to be anywhere else. The transformation in mum has been amazing and this is all thanks to the wonderful team. She is visibly brighter and healthier and has the confidence to engage and make new friends. She is very happy!!

We are so pleased that from your first enquiry and throughout your mum's respite stay, our team were able to support both you and your family and help make the transition a positive experience.
It is wonderful to hear how well your mum has settled with us and that she now feels happy, safe and part of the Gateford Lodge family. Seeing residents regain their confidence and build friendships is exactly what we strive for every day, so your kind words truly mean a lot to us.
Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care and for sharing your experience. We look forward to continuing to support her and your family.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.738)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.738) out of 10 for Gateford Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.881 for Gateford Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.881
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.857 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Gateford Lodge Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 70 registered maximum number of service users is 14. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 14 = 0.357
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
