Very happy with the transition into care. My relative has been treated with respect and dignity and is very happy with the care they are receiving. The rooms are large and bright and the home itself is situated in a lovely countryside setting. The staff are all very cheerful and caring. It has made life easier for us at a very difficult and stressful time.

My mum was admitted to the care home for end of life care from the hospital. From the outset, the care was exceptional, staff took the time to listen to what we told them about mum and her preferences, nothing was too much trouble. The professionalism and care that was shown to us as a family on the day mum passed went above and beyond what I expected. Special mention to the manager Sarah, Deputy Sandra, unit manager Millie, lead nurse Alex, SCA Lily and carer Joseph who were all so kind through a very difficult time for us all, and to all the other staff who showed such kindness and compassion to my mum and to us as a family during her last few days. Thank you all and keep up the excellent work!

I can only give praise to Hartshill Care Home. The care, dignity and compassion they showed my grandmother in her final weeks were amazing and there isn't a single member of staff that comes to mind to say anything negative of them. They were always friendly to us and showed rapport with my grandmother, in different ways for different people, which had that personal touch. Every level of staff were just great. The carers seemed to actually care, the cleaning staff were efficient, the seniors made themselves available to discuss things as needed, the office staff were a friendly, nurses were competent, the management were present and even the visiting professionals, like the doctor and the ANP put our minds at ease that our grandmother was in the best place in the circumstances. They encouraged her to be as sociable as she could be, were experienced to help during her unsettled moments and were sensitive and delicate in those final days, both to her and to us as a family. Thank you all!

My mum, moved to Hartshill on an end of life path way. This was such a struggle for my mum and our whole family. The staff at the care home helped us in every which way possible. The kindness and care that was provided not only to mum but to us too. My dad felt that if he went home he would be letting our mum down, for the last few days before mum sadly passed, dad stayed at the care home with mum. The staff provided comfort, food and drinks. Dad said this helped him come to terms with mum passing. Our whole family would like to give a special mention to Nurse Alex, the care you provided will stay with our family forever.

Overall Experience

Visited at the weekend to see my Cousin, who has been a resident at Hartshill Care Home for the 7 months.

He has dementia and he doesn't always remember me. The attentive staff were so caring and kind. They introduced me to him as a friend so as not to overwhelm him which I thought was a great idea. Within 10 minutes my Cousin looked at me, laughed and remembered me which was such an incredible moment.

As for the staff and the home overall. Every time that I visit, the home is always clean, everything is well presented and I always notice how residents seemed so engaged with the team of attentive staff.

I would unreservedly recommend Hartshill Care Home to anyone looking to place their loved ones within the care of such a brilliantly run care home, for complete peace of mind.

There was a lockdown due to flu through December, the team were absolutely amazing keeping visitors updated with emails and calls, to let us know what was going on. Every member of staff I have met has been extremely helpful, from the carers, to the reception and managers. My relative is very happy here, and speaks highly about the place which gives us confidence.

Mum has been a resident for 3 years now and the care she receives is brilliant.
The staff always go above and beyond and they encourage Mum to do things she would not usually entertain.

She has recently had an operation and they have adjusted care plans etc. to make sure her needs are being met.

I was undecided whether to stay in the care system, & after speaking to floor manager Sue outlined for me that I could go out to shop or for pleasure, I was free to travel by taxis to garden centres etc, on my own, but to leave my mobile number with them in case I got overtired or needed help. I didn't realise this & it made a big difference to my choice.

Our mother was admitted into Hartshill Nursing and Care Home on an end of life pathway during June 2025. My sister and I are so grateful for the genuine warmth, care and attention that was given to mum during her final days. From the moment she arrived at the home from the hospital, the quality of care was excellent and the support given was very much appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble and every staff member had an extremely professional caring attitude. The manager and staff were always approachable and helpful, and the liaison with the medical team was first class.

We will always be thankful for the way they cared for mum, treating her with respect and dignity until the very end. We have no hesitancy in recommending Hartshill Care Home based on our personal experience with them.

As a care home if the person's is on a normal diet and just need washing and help dressing it may be ok.
But as a nursing home, to me as an ex nurse the standards are poor.

My husband was in a lot of pain and it took 2 weeks to get medication and only when I said get the out of hours doctor was it done. Urine test took over a week. And level 6 diet took at least 3 weeks for it to be sorted and lots of care staff still got it wrong.

We are very sorry our usually high standards have not been met. We continue to work with the healthcare professionals to ensure there is no delay to treatment.

This care home is brilliant, the staff, nurses and other workers are fantastic. They take special care of our sister and are always kind and thoughtful. We are in awe of their strength of mind and how they cope with physical or mental abuse from their patients. Yes, training and learning how to work in such a difficult environment on a day to day basis, but experience can be frighting and it blows my mind how they can cope mentally aswell. Please know that they are mandatory angels to us. They are not paid enough to endure the things that happen to them daily.

Mum has been a resident now for approximately 12 months, she is happy, content, safe and feels well cared for.
The management and staff are very open, friendly and happy to discuss Mum's needs and adapt to her varying needs.
Mum has her own room which includes some of her own furniture and personal things which makes it very homely.
Mum's favourite place is the lounge where she can come and go as she pleases and meal times in the restaurant where she enjoys the food and company.
I find the the staff very good and caring including the domestic and maintenance staff.

I would like to especially mention the section manager, the staff in activities and the one in nursing, all of whom I have had personal help and assistance from over the last 12 months.

My mum was looked after at Hartshill Care Home during the last week of her life, the professionalism, care, compassion and love shown to Mum by all the staff was amazing. Overall, we, as a family, are very happy with the care that my mother is receiving from Hartshill Care Home. I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to the all staff at the home for the care given to my friend, who has sadly passed away in the care home. My wife was placed with Hartshill Care Home for a period of two months as a halfway house after her stay in the hospital.

The most obliging, courteous, knowledgeable and likeable staff coped with her volatile nature admirably with obvious affection. As a new enterprise the 'home' appeared to manage the mixture of residents capably and fairly. An ideal place for most of those individuals in need, especially with its 'open house' strategy.
