This is a lovely place with caring staff and set in lovely surroundings. Mum moved here in late May 2026 as she has progressive vascular dementia dad couldn't manage looking after her anymore. It's really good to know that she is being well looked after and cared for. Dad can visit every day if he likes and even has his own key so that he can come and go at any time. He can stay as long as he likes and even has some meals with mum which is great for him too. The place has great facilities (including a cinema room!) including a hairdressing room which is important for my mum. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and there are lots of activities to keep the residents busy and active. We are very pleased that we don't have to worry about her being well looked after any more and dad can go back to being her husband rather than her carer.

I am a lay minister, and I also have a friend/service user staying here as a permanent home. I have always been made welcome every time I have visited, and my friend has settled in really well. The opening day was really special, the food was delicious, and the visit from the mayor and the alpacas certainly made it memorable. I found the staff joined in with our small church service.

Grandad came to Heathview for respite care. Myself and my partner are so pleased with the high level of care grandad has received. The care home is beautiful, homely and has a lovely feel. Everyone is chatty, welcoming, and so helpful. I stayed for lunch one day, and it was amazing, and so fresh and tasty. Grandad is so settled and comfortable. He says all care/support is very dignified, he has seen the animals outside and has been for a walk in the garden. Such a beautiful, caring place. Thank you!!

Overall Experience
My father in law spent a week at Heathview Rose recently.
From my first visit to have a look around to a member of the team coming to my home to do a care assessment was organised and very professional.
When my father in law arrived for his stay he received a lovely welcome card that was signed by all the staff. It was something very simple but made him feel special.
They checked all his medication and asked all about his personal care before we left him.
He enjoyed his stay tremendously and he said the food was excellent. Which for us was great to hear as he enjoys his food :)
For my husband and myself it was a much needed break and we will be looking at pops staying there again.
All I can say is Heathview Rose is an excellent care home and would have no reservations in recommending this to other family members or friends.

Thank you all so much and we look forward to visiting you again in the near future

We couldn't be happier with the care our auntie receives here. From the moment she arrived, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, kind, and accommodating, always going above and beyond to make sure she feels comfortable, happy, and well looked after. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and it gives our whole family real peace of mind knowing she is in such caring hands.

The home itself is always clean, warm, and friendly, with a lovely atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The staff genuinely take the time to get to know the residents and treat them with such dignity, compassion, and respect.

The food is also excellent, with plenty of choice and beautifully prepared meals that our auntie really enjoys. It's clear a lot of thought and care goes into every aspect of daily life there.

One thing that especially stood out was the way they celebrated her birthday - they made such a huge fuss of her and truly made her feel special and loved. It meant so much to both her

My name is Donna Moore, and I am proud to be the Home Manager of Heathview Rose Care Home in Shirley.

My career in care began in 1998 as a Care Assistant in a local nursing home. During this time, I completed my NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care, building the foundations of a career that has always been centred on delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working across both nursing home and community settings.

In 2012, I qualified as a Registered Adult Nurse after studying at Birmingham City University. Since then, I have continued to develop my knowledge and skills within elderly care and nursing home management. I also completed a Level 6 qualification in Applied Theory and Practice in Palliative Care, reflecting my passion for ensuring people receive the highest quality care, dignity, and support throughout every stage of life.

Having lived in and around Shirley and Solihull all my life, it is especially meaningful to be working at Heathview Rose Care Home within the community that has shaped me both personally and professionally. I am passionate about creating a welcoming home where residents feel safe, valued, and respected, while building strong relationships with families and the wider local community.

We are proud to have created local employment opportunities and look forward to becoming an active part of the community. My team and I are committed to making Heathview Rose Care Home a place where residents can enjoy fulfilling lives, maintain their independence, and receive exceptional care tailored to their individual needs.

Outside of work, I have been happily married for 15 years and am a proud mum to five children (yes, five!). Our family also includes a much-loved dog, three cats, and a bearded dragon, so there is never a dull moment at home. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, sewing, watching films, and making the most of the British weather with a good barbecue whenever the sunshine decides to make an appearance.
