Austin Rose Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mom was in Austin Rose care home for nearly 6 years and we couldn't fault the love, care and respect that she and us as her family were shown during this time. They even accommodated mom's very fussy eating. All the staff from reception, nurses ,the activities team and the carers were professional
and went above and beyond for us and mom. As a family we shall continue to support them wherever we can now that mom has passed. Her passing was very peaceful, respectful and second to none. All our family recommend this home if your looking for somewhere to look after your loved one, whether it be temporary or during their final years.

Mom decided it was time for her to go into 24-hour care due to increasing falls.
We checked out various homes, but Millfield Rose was by far the most caring, informative, and met my expectations. Thank you to all staff, including nursing teams, domestic teams, kitchen team and admins team and activities
team.

Having looked at numerous care homes, we chose to book our sister into Wyrley Rose for a period of respite dementia care following release from hospital. It was absolutely the right decision. We could not be happier with the care and attention our lovely sister received. The staff are so well trained
and knowledgeable and nothing is ever too much trouble, everyone showed the utmost care and respect not only to our sister but to everyone in the family. On behalf of the family our sincerest thanks.
Reply from Soni Atwal, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Wyrley Rose Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly grateful that you chose Wyrley Rose to support your sister during her respite stay, and it means a great deal to us to hear how happy you were with the care she received.

Our team works hard to provide compassionate, respectful, and personalised support, so your words about their dedication and attentiveness are especially appreciated. We're also very pleased to know that you and your family felt supported throughout-this is incredibly important to us.

Please pass on our warmest wishes to your sister. It was a privilege to care for her, and we're always here should you need us again in the future.

I moved my mum into Austin Rose just over a week ago. She had a few bumpy days getting used to leaving her home of 30 years, to moving here and having everything done for her.
I'm so pleased with the level of professionalism and kindness the staff show towards my mum. I've been guilt ridden thinking
about moving her, but after seeing how she's looked after, I knew it was the right decision.
The Manager has been my point of call and has been amazing with my mum. Thank you x

Following a fall, my mother needed respite care with nursing support while she recovered from a broken arm and foot. I called Leighton Rose and within two days they had assessed her in hospital and arranged her transfer. The speed and ease of the whole process took so much pressure off our family. The
facilities are stunning - it feels like a luxury hotel with full medical care in the background. My mother had a room on the dedicated nursing floor, giving her 24/7 assistance, but she could still mix with other residents once she felt up to it. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, and she settled in quickly. I would wholeheartedly recommend Leighton Rose.

My husband, Mike, spent 10 days at Studley Rose as respite. He had just had many weeks in the hospital and was in need of care, dignity and recovery. He certainly found that at Studley Rose, All the staff, what ever their position, were kind, caring and professional. We knew he was in safe hands and
could relax after weeks of worry. Unfortunately, just as he was settling in and getting to know everyone and finding his feet, literally, his health took a turn for the worse and after another spell in hospital he sadly died. My family and I will be forever grateful for those days he experienced in Studley Rose.
I was always made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, it seemed to me.

Dad was a resident for 3 months following an earlier fall. The staff were very supportive of his needs and helped him to gain back his confidence and get some fitness back. He enjoyed all the activities and made a lot of new friends both staff and other residents. He was given plenty of encouragement
with his personal care, activities and settling into his new surroundings. We feel his has given him the ability to return home safely.

We're especially pleased that he's been able to return home safely and regain his independence that's a fantastic outcome (even though we miss him)

From the initial visit to Wulfrun Rose to the day mam passed away; she and I felt part of the family. We were welcomed with open arms. Advice was given about finances, which I especially appreciated. Once mam had moved in the staff were very caring, yet professional. She was very well cared for. The
medical care from the nurse (and weekly doctor's visits) was excellent. When she passed away it felt the staff were losing a member of the family.

Since my father came to Priestley Rose in December 2025 his quality of life has improved in 2 ways. Firstly his cognitive skills have improved as he gets a lot of attention, company and stimulation from the fabulous staff there. His mental health has also improved as he now makes jokes and laughs at
their (many) jokes! He constantly praises the staff, telling me how good they are at making him comfortable, well-fed, and well-cared for. Also how kind they all are. Secondly his physical health has definitely improved as he eats, and enjoys, most of the food, so has put on some much-needed weight. He is encouraged to move around using his walker and he enjoys the seated exercises after lunch as well as the board games and bingo! The staff are always so welcoming and friendly when I visit, and I see how thoughtful and gentle they are with Dad, nothing's too much trouble to keep him happy and happy he is! Dad is thriving there, so thank you very much to all the staff at Priestley Rose.

My father arrived at Watermead Rose from hospital in June 2025 on palliative care, with a prognosis of only 3 months to live. Today he is back home, and this is entirely due to the wonderful care and professionalism shown by the nurses, carers and management. We cannot thank all the staff enough for
their kindness, dedication, and unwavering support. The facilities at Watermead Rose are exceptional, and there is always so much happening to engage and entertain the residents and their families. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I would wholeheartedly recommend Watermead Rose to any family in need of compassionate and high-quality care.

Sending you all our very best wishes and thank you again for your heartwarming review and recommendation.

Leighton Rose Care Home

Overall Experience 2.0 out of 5
Mum and other residents I speak with have constant complaints about the food, lack of condiments, lack of variety and quality of vegetables. Just serving peas with almost every meal. Tasteless soup. The time taken for adjustments to meals leading to cold food. These issues are raised at every relatives'
meeting and we are told at residents meetings but they never seem to be addressed.
The staff seem very caring but oversight of housekeeping seems haphazard as room cleaning and bed making do not seem to happen all the time.
It would be good for residents to be taken for walks but the feedback we receive is that there are insufficient staff to do this. Since her arrival mum has put on a lot of weight and become diabetic. Better diet and more exercise might well have prevented this.
Overall we see Leighton Rose as safe but could do much better with catering and staffing levels.
Reply from Dionne Pearson, Registered Manager at Leighton Rose Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We value all comments as opportunities to learn and improve our service.

We hold monthly resident meetings and, although there were past concerns about food, none have been raised recently. As discussed at the relatives' meeting, our meal service is currently under review to enhance the dining experience. We would be happy to share our menu, which offers a good variety of vegetables. While we have not found meals to be cold or lacking taste, we recognise preferences differ and will work with your mother to improve her experience.

We offer regular activities, including weekly exercise sessions, tailored to residents' preferences, with many currently favouring indoor options.

If you have concerns regarding your mother's care, I would be happy to arrange a review with our Deputy Manager.

Thank you again for your feedback; it is invaluable in helping us maintain and improve the quality of care we provide.

My dad moved to Willow Rose end of Jan 26 and has settled in so well.
Its like a community and everyone is so friendly and kind.
The staff have been amazing with him, sorting out any issues he has as his dementia can be quite complex at times.
They are always there for him helping him to stay as
independant as he can be which means alot for him.
This was the best thing for my dad moving from his old care home.
Reply from Elizabeth Bradley, Customer Service Executive at Willow Rose Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're truly delighted to hear that your dad has settled in so well at Willow Rose and feels part of the community-that means a great deal to us.

Our team works hard to provide compassionate, person-centred care, and it's wonderful to know they've been able to support your dad, especially given the complexities of his dementia, while helping him maintain his independence.

We're so pleased that the move has been such a positive step for him. Thank you again for trusting us with his care and for taking the time to share your experience-it really means a lot to our whole team.

I visit my friend at least once a week and always made welcome by friendly staff. My friend is contented living there, and says the food is good. I have been to bingo, games, and singers and it always good and fun for the residents. She also enjoys having her hair done and other activities. Special
occasions are also celebrated there, Valentines Day, VE Day, Remembrance Day etc and would have no hesitation recommending Willow Rose.

My father-in-law has been a resident of Leighton Rose for a little over a year now, and although I haven't been able to visit often from Spain, we FaceTime twice a week. After our last call, I mentioned to my wife what a difference I'd noticed in him: he's more cheerful, socialises more, and is getting
involved in the home's activities with some enthusiasm. I assume that much of the positive change is due to the care and attention he receives from key staff members.
Reply from Kelly Cox, Customer Relationships Manager at Leighton Rose Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to write a review, we are so incredibly grateful, and thrilled at how well your father in law has settled in, and is enjoying life here at Leighton Rose.
