Whilst David has only been at this home for a short time I have been impressed with the staff. When I have asked for anything to be done it has been sorted out immediately.

Partner has been at Priestly Rose for 2 years. With all the care and support he receives has really improved on arrival at PR he was PEG fed. Now he is on 3 meals a day and he can drink by himself needs assistance for feeding. So a great improvement. PR is always welcoming staff, management always help
with any concerns . (which are very rare!) Great food and activities (entertainment).

Dad became a resident of Priestley Rose in Sept 2025. At the time, he wasn't in great shape. We were very concerned at his weight and getting him to eat and drink was extremely difficult. However, Priestley Rose have a formidable team who have clearly worked their magic as Dad has since rallied, eating
and drinking more and putting weight back on. The team are great. Empathic, understanding, kind, considerate, respectful and always good with families. We made the best choice we could for Dad by taking him to Priestly Rose. I scored activities N/A as I can't comment. I've not been there to witness. Food variation is difficult for Dad, but it's still good.

From our first visit we have been so very impressed with every aspect of Priestley Rose. First and most importantly, every member of staff we have met has been superb. They clearly care about the welfare of the residents and their families. We have gained enormous confidence knowing our Dad is in excellent
hands. All the support necessary is on hand immediately, the rooms are spacious and warm. We have peace of mind knowing our Dad is in the care of such true professionals who have empathy and kindness.

My mom was in priestly Rose for 21/2 years
They were very good with her , we as a family made friends with the staff there , they were always friendly helpful and very caring. My mom was very happy there. My mom couldn't speak she lost that ability and mobility when she had a stroke but because she
was always happy with a great personality , the staff loved her.
When ever I had a problem nothing major but if I did I would go to Anita and it would be dealt with straight away
Highly recommended priestly Rose

I was terrified when I found out Mum had to move to this less expensive home from the one the hospital had placed Mum in when NHS was funding the care. Mum moved to Priestley Rose in May this year. She settled quickly. She loves the food. The nurses are great. They were so attentive when Mum was unwell
and needed hospital for suspected sepsis. The carers ensure hygiene is well maintained and always report any redness to the skin, which is carefully monitored. When I have had any reason to raise any queries about Mum the nurses respond to family worries, whether it is by contacting the doctor or their own input.

Priestley Rose is a superb care home. All staff, I encounter are very welcoming, caring, supportive and genuinely care for all of their residents. My dad is very happy here and is well cared for. The building is kept well maintained and smells lovely as you walk in. They provide lots of fun entertainment
for the residents and their families at various times during the year. Well done to all of the staff. Keep up the amazing work!

My aunt is exceptionally well looked after. The nurses and carers know her well and if she is poorly they react by making phone calls when necessary. All staff are friendly and courteous and my aunt is so lucky to be a resident here she is washed every day and meals bought to her room which is always
neat and clean and tidy. The staff know her well and are very experienced.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.797)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.797) out of 10 for Priestley Rose is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.797 for Priestley Rose is calculated as follows: ( (354 Excellents x 5) + (79 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 438 Ratings = 4.797
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Priestley Rose is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
