Review from A G (Son of Resident) published on 15 January 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Dad became a resident of Priestley Rose in Sept 2025. At the time, he wasn't in great shape. We were very concerned at his weight and getting him to eat and drink was extremely difficult. However, Priestley Rose have a formidable team who have clearly worked their magic as Dad has since rallied, eating and drinking more and putting weight back on. The team are great. Empathic, understanding, kind, considerate, respectful and always good with families. We made the best choice we could for Dad by taking him to Priestly Rose. I scored activities N/A as I can't comment. I've not been there to witness. Food variation is difficult for Dad, but it's still good.

From our first visit we have been so very impressed with every aspect of Priestley Rose. First and most importantly, every member of staff we have met has been superb. They clearly care about the welfare of the residents and their families. We have gained enormous confidence knowing our Dad is in excellent hands. All the support necessary is on hand immediately, the rooms are spacious and warm. We have peace of mind knowing our Dad is in the care of such true professionals who have empathy and kindness.

My mom was in priestly Rose for 21/2 years
They were very good with her , we as a family made friends with the staff there , they were always friendly helpful and very caring. My mom was very happy there. My mom couldn't speak she lost that ability and mobility when she had a stroke but because she was always happy with a great personality , the staff loved her.
When ever I had a problem nothing major but if I did I would go to Anita and it would be dealt with straight away

Highly recommended priestly Rose

I was terrified when I found out Mum had to move to this less expensive home from the one the hospital had placed Mum in when NHS was funding the care. Mum moved to Priestley Rose in May this year. She settled quickly. She loves the food. The nurses are great. They were so attentive when Mum was unwell and needed hospital for suspected sepsis. The carers ensure hygiene is well maintained and always report any redness to the skin, which is carefully monitored. When I have had any reason to raise any queries about Mum the nurses respond to family worries, whether it is by contacting the doctor or their own input.

Priestley Rose is a superb care home. All staff, I encounter are very welcoming, caring, supportive and genuinely care for all of their residents. My dad is very happy here and is well cared for. The building is kept well maintained and smells lovely as you walk in. They provide lots of fun entertainment for the residents and their families at various times during the year. Well done to all of the staff. Keep up the amazing work!

My aunt is exceptionally well looked after. The nurses and carers know her well and if she is poorly they react by making phone calls when necessary. All staff are friendly and courteous and my aunt is so lucky to be a resident here she is washed every day and meals bought to her room which is always neat and clean and tidy. The staff know her well and are very experienced.

Every visit is met with courtesy and friendliness, you know the residents are well cared for and are clean and comfortable. All the nurses and carers know each individual resident. I know if there is anything wrong the nurses and carers will react and make the necessary phone calls particularly when a resident is sick. My friend is fortunate to be in a care home that is safe and so caring.

In mum's last days the level of care she received was outstanding. Despite being bed bound for most of last year she had no pressure sores, and when she scratched/damaged her own skin, extensive measures were taken to make sure they healed. When mum stopped eating and drinking, staff persevered and gave mouth care. They were endlessly patient when she was aggressive, and kept us informed. The staff made mum's last years happy ones. She loved the staff here, and gave us peace of mind that mum was in safe, loving hands. Thank you.

I would like to thank everyone here for the amazing care given to mum from 2018 till March 29 2025. She finally lost her battle with vascular dementia, surrounded by staff and family. It was a peaceful end, mum just went to sleep and never woke up. Her time here allowed her to live life to the full, with no carers or worries, only fun and games. She was treated with compassion, love, dignity, and wonderful care right up to the end of her amazing life. No pressure sores, prompt intervention, and always had a phone call to follow up any action taken and safe in your hands. Her time with you allowed me for the first time in many years to step back and become a daughter again. To enjoy times with mum filled with laughter without worry, and this was so precious to have. My family and I will always be in your debt for the hard work and dedication you have shown to all the residents. From our hearts, to your hearts.
