Overall Experience

My mother came to Priestley Rose over five years ago and was only expected to live a few weeks. She was only six stone at the time. Within a year, from the fantastic care and support from the staff and management, my mother went from bedbound to enjoying going out and all the facilities that the home offered. The staff always worked hard with myself and my sister to get the best for my mam. They never failed to respond to any request from us or my mother. Just to end on this note, my mams last words were I want to go home. Unfortunately, she died in hospital. It was her home at Priestly Rose and the staff were her family. I can't praise the home enough as a professional myself. Thank you to all the staff who loved and care for my mother.

Our Dad went into Priestley Rose on the 22nd of December 2017. The staff and management were friendly, helpful and Dad was happy. Room basic, but clean and tidy. Food was excellent. Any problems were solved, and the atmosphere was lovely. Dad passed away in the hospital on the 18th of January 2020. We can not thank the home staff enough for all their help, support and excellent care in every way.

Although my mother was a resident at Priestley Rose for a short time, she was treated with care, dignity and respect. The staff were exemplary and showed my family great compassion. Thank you all for the wonderful job that you do.

Sadly my husband passed away December 13th 2019. He was in Priestly Rose Nursing Home for 9 months before that. He was treated with kindness, consideration, and his dignity was preserved at all times. I cannot thank the staff enough. They are kind, friendly and approachable and do a wonderful job. Thank you so much.

The standard of care at this home is exemplary in all aspects. Not only do the staff conduct themselves in a professional and disciplined way, but considerable care and affection are also afforded. For residents with more substantial care needs Priestley Rose is an ideal choice.

My mum was transferred from hospital to Priestley Rose around 09.30 Thursday 29.3.2018. I visited 14.00 same day and delight! The whole home smelled nice! Greeted and helped by staff on site to go visit my mum who was settled and comfortable in bed in a single well-fitted room. She had already had lunch, all records done and clothes labelled. Time given with staff for confirmation of information, likes and dislikes. Having visited every day since, the care given with comfort, food, bathing is of a high standard. I and other visitors arrive during the day, unannounced to find all in good order. Very pleased.

Since my sister went into this nursing home approx 2 1/2years ago, I have visited over 100 times. My experience over that time leads me to conclude that I would be more than happy to be a resident here myself, shall the occasion arise.

In the time that my brother has been in the home, he has been treated very well. His needs have required a lot of help from the carers, helping him to eat, bath and toiletries. It takes special people like the carers and management to provide the care my brother needs. I find all the staff very friendly and helpful at the home. Peace of mind to know he is ok.

The home has provided a safe and caring environment. The staff have been very welcoming to us as a family. They have helped my husband to settle, and he has improved since being in this home. Although my husband cannot eat, it has all looked lovely. There are activities if residents want to join in and also family events such as BBQ and summer fete.

My mother has been a resident for five months at Priestley Rose Nursing Home. She has settled in very well. It is a lovely home, very clean, bright and all the staff are very nice and pleasant. There is a wide range of meals to choose from. It is reassuring to know when we leave that she is safe and secure at the age of 97.

My sister has been in this nursing home for a few years. When she was able, she enjoyed the interaction with the staff. If we asked about a certain subject, they always did their best to help. I could not answer the "value for money" question, as my older brother, who always lived with her, looked after financial details.

Overall Experience

The home is located near to the city centre and as a consequence, it is an older building. However, it is comfortable and clean and it is quite clear that there is an ongoing refurbishment project in progress. If any problems arise they are quickly attended to and the comfort and safety of residents is always at the forefront of matters.

The staff are all very good and attentive with their primary concern being the welfare of the residents. In my experience, the residents are well cared for in all aspects of health, dietary requirements, cleanliness and physical/mental stimulation by the use of various entertainment and games. Family/friends are welcome to visit with virtually no restrictions and staff are always available for discussion should anything arise. In the event of accidents occurring contact is made with families very quickly and they are kept fully informed. This is the second home my mother has been in and she is far more settled and better cared for at Priestly Rose.

This home is absolutely lovely, the staff, the care workers and nurses are quite amazing. This is a very happy environment. My husband is left spotlessly clean, his clothes and night clothes are changed daily and his personal care is wonderful.
I would recommend this home to everyone.
The food is lovely and I pay just £1.00 per day to eat with my husband daily.
We are delighted with every aspect of the home, the arranged a BBQ last week and hired a singer to entertain the guests, it was fantastic.

Well done Priestley Rose.

Excellent care and support provided for my Auntie. Carers excellent in care and support, and carers excellent in good manners and friendliness. Room was adequate, but warm and clean. Medical care is good and I was regularly informed on the state of health of my Auntie. The manager is very friendly and always approachable. The food was good but not very luxurious. I would recommend Priestley Rose to anybody.
