Overall Experience
Our father is being well cared for, is settled and content. Staff are always approachable, friendly and helpful. All make a conscious effort to engage with Dad, when cleaning, dropping off a morning tea and cake etc.

The quality and variety of food and snacks is very good. Staff have a regular routine of cleaning, prepping patients for the day etc, which is a good practice and ensures regular contact with Dad throughout the day. Wider medical needs are also quickly and efficiently addressed. Thank you to all staff at Priestley for making Dad so comfortable.

My brother has recently moved into the nursing home and was very anxious about the transition. It is still early days, but he has been reassured by the caring staff who make great efforts to help him maintain some independence whilst at the same time, providing the care and support he needs. At each visit we experienced a very welcoming, homely atmosphere. The staff are always cheerful, helpful, understanding and professional. Thank you to everyone concerned.

I have been here for 5 months and have been really pleased that I was sent here. The care has been excellent and the staff are ready to help in any way that they can. The general atmosphere is of a happy home. They are continually trying to keep the resident occupied and often have singers in on special occasions. I would recommend Priestly Rose to any one.

I can not speak highly enough of the staff at Priestley Rose. They are kind, caring and attentive, they care for the family just as much as they care for the residents. During my sister's short stay at Priestley Rose, they organised a room so we could celebrate my sister's birthday and treated her with care and dignity even though they knew we were going to move her because of Priestley Rose being the other side of the city and one and a half hour journey each way (never trust social workers). If we could move Priestley Rose and all the staff to our side of the city we would 100% have stayed there. We hope the new place is as good. Thanks so much everyone at Priestley Rose, you are a credit to your profession. I cannot recommend anywhere more than Priestley Rose if you live Erdington side of the city, they are truly wonderful.

The service my mother receives is very good and also her care is good, but I feel you could try to persuade her to get out of her bedroom more often.

Although Dad was there for a short period of time before he passed away in hospital, I would like to praise all the staff for everything they did to make his last few weeks comfortable.

Our family were always made welcome during our visits and we were kept up to date on Dad's needs.

My father was treated with dignity and respect throughout his respite. The food was good and plentiful. Everyone was friendly and polite. The manager down to the cleaning staff all called him by name. My father enjoyed his stay.

My father's stay at this nursing home was for approximately sixteen months and during all this time we felt the staff were excellent. They really persevered with dad in trying to get him to drink and eat and he never suffered from any bed sores whilst in their care. The nurses were excellent too and would always keep the family updated with any issues and were always in contact with the registered doctor to keep on top of anything. The staff always made the family very welcome when we visited and they made such an effort with getting residents to participate in numerous activities. The only issue for us is that the rooms are very basic and could do with renovating.

From day one all of the staff were extremely helpful. If any problems arose they were dealt with as soon as possible. Everyone is very friendly and like you to be included. The care my Mum received was second to none. She had been in two previous homes and this one is the best by a mile. Would highly recommend them.

The past few months have been extremely difficult with the COVID-19 situation and also with the death of a family member. Priestley Rose has been very good at supporting us with the death and I understand that it must have been extremely difficult for the staff team to manage the situation. One member of staff, in particular, has been outstanding, understanding and empathetic.

With a Master's in Nursing, I lectured at various Nursing colleges in India and Saudi Arabia, before moving to the UK in 2007, and taking up Registered Nurse and Deputy Manager positions.

I became a manager at Priestley Rose in 2013 and have subsequently gained Level 5 in Leadership and Management, equipping me to lead a dedicated team that provides high-quality care to residents with respect and dignity.

I strive to continually improve the services that we as a team provide to our care home residents, creating an ideal environment for the staff and visitors who are part of the ‘family’ too.

My own lovely family includes my husband and my daughter, who is a great support for me. Gardening and listening to music are my main hobbies. I also spend my leisure time in prayer, which gives me peace and strength
