Carol is well looked after and content. Staff have taken time to get to know her and treat her with kindness, respect and a friendly approach. Carole has significant mobility and cognitive issues, and staff take time for her to understand when administering personal care. The home has a warm feel whilst
maintaining a professional approach.

We are so pleased with the care my auntie is getting. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile, and this continues with all the nurses and care team. Obviously, we would want my auntie to be at home, but this is not possible, and Wulfrun Rose is the next best option.
Reply from Soni Atwal, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Wulfrun Rose Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your lovely feedback.

We are delighted to hear that you are so pleased with the care your auntie is receiving at Wulfrun Rose. Creating a warm, welcoming environment for both our residents and their families is extremely important to us, so it is wonderful to know that the smiles and kindness of our team have made such a positive impression.

We understand that moving into residential care can be a difficult decision for families, and we are honoured that you feel Wulfrun Rose is the next best option for your auntie. Our nurses and care team are dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centred care, ensuring every resident feels safe, comfortable and valued.

Thank you again for your kind words and trust in our team. We look forward to continuing to support your auntie and your family.

From the initial visit to Wulfrun Rose to the day mam passed away; she and I felt part of the family. We were welcomed with open arms. Advice was given about finances, which I especially appreciated. Once mam had moved in the staff were very caring, yet professional. She was very well cared for. The
medical care from the nurse (and weekly doctor's visits) was excellent. When she passed away it felt the staff were losing a member of the family.

A generally positive impression of both management and staff have been gained since my relative took residence in Wulfrun Rose from October 2024. The home provides a safe and dignified environment for my relative, who is generally happy with the assistance and services he receives. Food quality and
variety appear to have improved following the appointment of a recent new kitchen chef, with my relative having noted the improvement in food quality and range.

As a resident of Wulfrun Rose for the past 15 months, I would comment that I am generally happy with Wulfrun Rose, although in my opinion, there are some areas for improvement. These include the rooms being excessively warm during all seasons, with limited air ventilation. Lack of visits by management
to my room to enquire of my welfare is also consistently a negative. Food quality and variety appear to have recently improved. Carers and nurses are very good and attend to my daily needs on a regular basis.

I feel confident when I am not visiting that my mother is being looked after. Every time a carer passes they interact with her and make sure she always has plenty of fluid on her table which helps with her kidney complaint. The staff all seem to be very hardworking from the reception, to administration
to carers always willing to listen if I have any questions they are all very professional and polite which gives me confidence having my mother looked after in Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home.

Staff here are so friendly and caring, nothing is to much trouble. Care is of the highest standard and my Mom is very happy here. Activities are on every day with a cracking Burns night celebration. The rooms and all the communal areas are spotless, friends and family are made welcome. Medical needs

My sister is so happy at Wulfrun Rose care home. She does so many activities. Which she couldn't do before moving in there. Even with her dementia and very poor eyesight, she is involved with plenty to keep her occupied. It makes all the family happy to know she is cared for in a way we couldn't do
at home. It is a pleasure to visit her each week, and we thank you for the superb care she is receiving.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.738)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.738) out of 10 for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 54 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.738 for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (486 Excellents x 5) + (137 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 638 Ratings = 4.738
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
