A desperate need to place Mom in a safe, caring, loving environment - our new journey with you began. Exceptional support shown is overwhelming. Thoughtful, kind words, gentleness, care shown to Mom means the world to us all. Mom with very few words, let you know through her smile, she knew you wanted
to care for her and keep her safe and well. You have all shared with us Moms journey. Care is not a job but a vocation and I have to say what a Team you have. I have never met a Manager anywhere that gives so much to his Team and gets so much in return. You are generous with your time, heartfelt words and support. The 'Wulfrun Rose Family' as I will always refer to you as are the benchmark in Care that all Care Homes and their Staff should aspire to be. Sadly after just a few months, Mom has passed, not really able to appreciate the whole environment she was fortunate to be in. Dignity, respect, love shown to Mom as she left this earth, and as she left Wulfrun Rose Care Home was beautiful, overwhelming.

I felt I had to put pen to paper and tell you my experience about Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home. I've been staying for a week convalescing form lung operation at hospital.
I've been very well looked after and if at any time I have to stay in a home it would certainly be this one.

The ethos at Wulfrun Rose is really impressive. The striking characteristics of warmth, openness, efficiency and excellence of care run through the whole organisation, from the first contact over the telephone and with reception staff – through the carers and nurses – up to the managers.

The environment

at Wulfrun Rose is modern and pleasing. Facilities are good. Members of staff are, without exception, caring and friendly. They never seemed rushed. There are practical, efficient and do all they can for the comfort and well-being of residents. They are very helpful and informative in communications with family members too.

My mother was very unwell when she moved to Wulfrun Rose. She could not have had better care during the last stage of her life. This was a huge comfort to her and to the family.

Thank you to all at Wulfrun Rose.

Wulfrun Rose. A home that cares.

The rooms are a good size light, airy and well furnished with a wet room en-suite facility. There are beautiful gardens. A great activity room where residents have fun from tossing pancakes, playing games, making Easter Bonnets, manicures and many other events.

There is also a Hairdressing Salon.

My mother has been a resident since January 2018. She was really poorly at that time and our family was very worried about her.
The care that both Management and Staff have shown her has been incredible. They're friendly, helpful, extremely professional and nothing is too much trouble, attitude is wonderful to witness.
Now after four months at Wulfrun Rose her pain is well managed and she is extremely happy to be part of " The Wulfrun Rose Family".
Our sincere thanks to everyone at Wulfrun Rose. A care home in the true sense of the words.

My father was a resident in this home and we decided to arrange respite care for him.
From the beginning of our visiting the home and to the end of dad's stay. We were impressed with the friendly, kind and attentive care of the staff. The staff were all very professional and were very approachable
if we asked for information. Dad was supported and looked after very well and he was back on his feet in no time at all. He even opted to extend his time for a further week.
The home was clean, the lounge accommodating and used well by the residents. I have nothing but compliments for Wulfrun Rose.

My brothers and I are full of praise for the way in which our dad was looked after when he came into Wulfrun Rose to convalesce. Following a period in hospital, he was helped and encouraged to get back to a state of health such that he was able to return home. The quality of care, the ambience in the
home, the active involvement of the management and the standards that are expected are all of the highest order.
Unfortunately, some weeks after returning home, dad became poorly again which resulted in a visit to A and E . The manager and his staff arranged for dad to return and made accommodation available to him within 12 hours. A truly remarkable testament to the care, concern and management ability at Wulfrun Rose.
We cannot speak highly enough of the care and loving attention to be found here.

If Wulfrun Rose were a hotel, I would rate it a 5 star. It is however much more than a hotel it is the most loving, caring environment for your loved one to stay. I (and all my family) cannot speak highly enough of it. We can all relax in the knowledge that our 100-year-old mother is being treated with
dignity and lovingly cared for. She has settled in very quickly and is happy in her new home. All the staff at Wulfrun Rose know the true meaning of 'care' in every sense of the word. They are attentive and have a loving approach to all the residents. Without exception, all residents are treated as if they are the carers loved ones. That is the highest praise possible. Our sincere thanks to the excellent management team and all the staff who provide this wonderful service.

The home is very bright and clean and there is always someone on reception. Would like to see just a little more contact between residents and carers just by way of - "Good morning, how are you etc, do you need anything." I know there isn't always the time for this.

My dad, initially, was in respite at Wulfrun Rose and went into permanent nursing care, in July 2016 until he sadly passed away December 2017. Choosing a permanent home , for your loved one, when as a family, you are no longer able to look after them, is an extremely difficult decision to make. We
needn’t have worried. The care and dignity showed to my dad was excellent. From the beginning we were made to feel extremely welcome and part of an extended family. If we ever had an issue, we raised it and it would be dealt with to our satisfaction. Every member of staff from reception, kitchen, housekeeping, activities, Carers, nursing staff and management, did everything possible to meet our needs. During the last few days of dad’s life, all staff went above and beyond to make, his final moments peaceful and comfortable. The care and understanding shown to us all is something we will always remember and be grateful for. Thankyou

Having worked in care for the past thirty years, I can honestly write that this has to be of a very high standard throughout the home.
I would not place my mother elsewhere. Very content to know that she is being looked after.

Looked after my Stepfather during his last days and the staff were brilliant. Management could not do enough for him and all the family members, they made sure we had a room to use and that we had plenty of food. The staff treated him with dignity and respect at all times. Brilliant staff and super
management.

Since arriving at this home my mother's health and personal appearance seems far better than at her previous home. Personal presentation is of a much higher standard. Nothing is too much trouble for the care staff. Any problems we mention health wise is dealt with promptly.

Mum went into Wulfrun Rose with a terminal illness, MSA, totally immobile.
From day one she was made very welcome and involved with activities as much as was allowed and also taken on a trip (totally unexpected).
The staff were friendly and helpful. We were kept informed of mum's progress at all times
and nothing was too much trouble for anyone involved.
When mum passed the staff were loving and caring.
So when my mother in law needed nursing care, terminal again, this year 2017, we had no hesitation on where she was to go. Keep up the good work. Thank you is not enough.

It is wonderful for both of us to know my husband is kept safe, nourished and very well looked after whilst in respite care.
I have peace of mind when I go away on a short break. I have complete confidence that his care will be more than adequate and more so, he likes it there and is quite happy for
us both to have the break. All staff go above and beyond their duties. Grateful thanks to management and staff. All excellent.

My mum was sent to Wulfrun Rose for assessment from hospital after an illness. I was in such an emotional state and every member of staff that I spoke to was so kind and helpful. My mum is recovering and starting to interact. She has said that all the staff were kind and caring. It is a beautiful
home, purpose built and very comfortable. Mum is due to go home with a care package in place but when my family and I have a holiday, I hope that she will be accepted back in Wulfrun Rose for respite care. I would then have peace of mind that she would be safe and looked after.

My father had a weeks stay in this home and he expressed how friendly and caring the staff were and that they'd looked after him very well. He ate his meals and said he enjoyed them. Everyone was well organised and plenty going on there. If he was to have to go into respite again he would be happy to
go back there.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.733)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.733) out of 10 for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.733 for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (346 Excellents x 5) + (105 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 460 Ratings = 4.733
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wulfrun Rose Nursing Home is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 67 registered maximum number of service users is 13.4, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
