Karenza Care Home

My husband has settled into Kerenza so well and this is because of the staff and facilities. His room is a very good size and is kept very clean.

Nice, friendly staff - well-run.

Mum is in the home due purely to old age, 98. She is not a difficult person to look after generally but I think all people of this age can be a little difficult at times when they don't want to do this or that and it must be difficult for the staff day in, day out doing this job, they must have so many patients. I must say that apart from the patient, all of us visitors and family get a first-class welcome and treatment from all the staff and management each time we visit. Overall the room and facilities are good and clean and the food varied and well prepared, so couldn't really ask for much better care and attention.

After each visit, I go home feeling happy that Dad is happy.

The staff are excellent and take great care of our friend and he seems very happy to be at Karenza. The staff looks after him very well, any queries we have the staff always answer in a very caring way.

After my Mum was admitted to hospital with a UTI she had a torrid time in A&E. She then had a severe stroke and spent 21 weeks in hospital. At least 12 of these in isolation. It looked as though she had improved enormously. The staff are amazing and the care she receives is second to none. Seeing Mum smiling and looking like her old self is down to all at this wonderful care home.

My mum has been in Karenza for getting on for three years. The first year was bad. Changes in staff literally every couple of weeks, no activities, she wasn't happy. We were upset that she was upset. She had a bangle stolen also! However, now the home is completely different, Mum is happy and I cannot praise the staff enough. I feel I can bring anything up and will be listened to.

The home was in a beautiful spot. Lots of staff were around and were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. They were kind and patient with the residents and visitors alike. They bought us a tray of tea in the bright, airy dining room while we chatted with our uncle. His room was bright and airy and he looked happy and healthier the last time we saw him. The home was spotlessly clean and smelt totally fresh and clean.

My very first impression of Karenza when entering was to be made welcome. It smells so fresh in the building. Watching the staff, I was impressed with their care of the residents. The rooms are light and airy. It is so good to feel your loved one is being so well looked after, and settled. Well done to you all, and thank you for your care and kindness.

I have found Karenza Care Home a very warm, friendly and welcoming place. It is spotlessly clean and feels very homely. The staff are wonderful, very caring, respectful and compassionate to all the residents. Mum is always clean fresh clothes are always washed with care and every item is labelled. A very professionally run care home.

Thank your staff at the Karenza Care Home for the care of my mother while there. All staff were fantastic at their jobs, always helpful, nothing too much trouble. Always able to talk to us or us to them. Just to say again, all staff were fantastic and helpful to the end.

The care Karenza provided my gramps in the last few months of his life was more than we had ever had hoped for. The positive atmosphere the team has created in the home is apparent the moment you walk through the door. Deciding to move my gramps into residential housing was a hard decision to come to for my family, but seeing how well he was cared for and how much he loved it there, we know now it was completely the right decision. The communication between the home and the family was faultless - we were constantly updated with changes to his care, no matter how small of a change. The end of life care they gave made a very difficult time a lot more manageable. Not only did they show compassion toward my gramps, but the empathy they showed towards my family and myself really showed what a brilliant team they are. While we miss my gramps everyday, we are so grateful that Karenza was able to provide a home for him and ensure his last moments of life were full of dignity and love.

Only complaint is the difficulty of speaking to my husband on the phone.

The new management team have taken this care home to the next level. The all-round care is very supportive, dignified and professional. The nurses, two in particular, are excellent. We have met some of the wonderful team who can't do enough for you. Keep up the good work and most of all thank you.

Would totally recommend the care home.

Always get a friendly reception when I visit. Staff are very caring. Whilst there are no activities at present, I understand that this is something the home are planning to set up. I am confident that my mother is receiving the best possible care at all times.

Karenza rescued my mother and have brought back her smile. Even at 95, she is now thriving and socialising again. She has gained weight and is eating well. They manage her dementia with kindness and dignity.
